Watching the perspectives and vods we learned VERY QUICKLY what some of our mistakes were 4. YES! even getting ROLLED helps cause something is better than nothing 5. This didnt discourage us in the slightest hell we're all fired up and ready for more! 6. HUGE props to ml for the sportsman ship and kind words 7. There's something satisfying about watching someone who is the best at what they do succeeding. It's always inspiring watching mL7 play, he's like a role model for support mains everywhere to aim to be like
Ml7 is an INSANE player. He’s got mechanics with the brain. But he’s not the “best” support player right now. Shu, viol2t, fielder are three support players that are better just off the top of my head. I’m not saying ml7 isn’t bad or that he’s not one of the best players, he’s just not THE best support.
INFEKTED is so god damn good dude, and to think he’s only like 15/16 years old. I hope the OWL doesn’t die by the time he turns 17. I’m really looking forward to him playing in the league. He’s potentially a Rookie of the year candidate

Still watching but I had to comment on the statement in the first rounds. Yes, you definietly learn things you could have done better in retrospective, but I think ML would not be so chill about it if he wasn't Rank 1/Top500 by now. I am Silver 1 and need to learn a lot, but my mechanics/MMR seem to be on a level, that I get plat/diamond players in my lobbies, more on the enemy team than in my own stack. But this is just... I can improve on things I can influence and the entire teamcomp is not one of these elements. But getting rolled on the regular by people who are way higher ranked than you is just absolutely dog shit. It still would be a competition and a learning experience, if I was playing against gold 2 or gold 1, but diamond... This matchmaking can be very frustrating in a game I really try to enjoy and get better in :/ Anyway I love watching these videos as a support main and I learn a lot everytime. I just wanted to share my thoughts on this for those who are interested.
The first few games are so interesting. Even though they are FARMING the lower MMR teams, it never feels too mean. They don't troll too much and use legit strategies. I could see the other team watching the game back and learning a lot
I kind of disagree with the whole "getting stomped helps you learn" mentality because it never gets explained *how* it actually helps but people insist it does
You can't disagree with something that objectively works lol. Getting stomped means they're punishing most of your mistakes, so if you want to stop getting stomped you'll have to figure out those mistakes and improve. If your team can't even leave spawn you're probably thinking "I don't know what to do", and if you don't figure out the answer to that in game then you might do after watching the replay. In other words, when they punish so many mistakes from you, then they're giving you the opportunity to figure out those mistakes and improve on them.
@@alvin_row "Objectively works" is my issue here. People can learn from mistakes, it happens every game in small and large amounts, but getting stomped and punished for making even basic plays is different from making a mistake and getting punished. The skill difference between say a Plat and Diamond is a reasonable area for the Plat player to improve, and reasonably find success during the game. But if a Plat fights a GM, especially if they werent expecting to such as with smurfs, there is way too much information going on to reasonably process their mistakes, and could either lead to giving up entirely or frustratedly tunneling the GM player which most likely will still result in a loss. People aren't robots who input and analyze data from an objective lends 100% of the time. Emotions will occur whether you want them to or not, and it's disingenuous to expect a lower ranked player to enjoy fighting people significantly better at the game than them over and over to learn without any warning or preptime.
@@shineyydesigns7696 I wasn't talking about smurfs in ranked though.
