This is probably your most helpful video since it's what you'd do in a solving situation and it's slow enough that we can actually see what you're doing. Great video!
Have to say I do not normally comment on UA-cam videos but as a mature cuber (46) who is trying to get sub 15 globally this is as inspirational as I have ever seen.. Fantastic stuff
+Feliks Zemdegs Indeed, mind me asking how many solves were either WV or ZBLL (think I saw one WV as I am in the process of incorporating these into my solves). Very difficult to see your transition from F2L -> LL, even at this TPS! :) Makes my YT pb average of 13.5x look a mix of too slow/rushed
This is really impressive to watch, almost as impressive as full speed solves. Also, I have the jigsaw in the background on the right - it's the box to the right of the pencil pot.
I couldn't get a faster average than that if I turned as fast as I could, keep it up Feliks! You are the best cuber in the world and I hope you continue cubing for aolong time (pun intended)
Now this is impressive! Anybody can do 5 second solves :p But this is just insanely mind-blowing stuff. I freaking love your turning style right there!
Amin Rosli It's difficult to estimate which is better. Imagine if you could do 100 tps that'd be more worth than lookahead. I think they are both equally important, the problem is that many people tend to neglect lookahead by turning faster than they can follow visually. But you also have to push your lookahead by turning a little 'too' fast... Videos like this one are pointless I think, because you can't slowturn a sub-10 average unless you are already much faster. Feliks is amazing at both tps, efficiency and lookahead, so he can decrease one of them and still get really good times. But if a slower cuber decrease their tps they don't magically get sub-10...
+Antonio Barba Well, that's kind of the point. Doing slow, pause-free solves and gradually turning faster (which improves lookahead, and by extension, turning speed) is exactly what this average encourages!
What strategy do you use to recognize ZBLL? I look for headlights then positioning of the solved blocks to recognize PLL and shape then definitive flipped corners to recognize OLL, but it seems like it would be a lot more complicated to recognize a case when there are two things going on at once. Yet, your ZBLL recognition is easily just as fast if not faster than my OLL and PLL recognition.
First by the CLL, then by the edges. In some cases, it's just by the blocks around the side of the top layer. I don't have a strict 'system' or anything.
Thanks for the answer. What does learning ZBLL feel like? I remember OLL seemed nearly impossible to learn in full until I was about a third through, and then it just felt routine. Does ZBLL feel the same, or is it just as daunting the whole way through?
The cases with blocks and good algs are cool, and at soem point, you'll feel them easy to remember, but there are some cases that has no blocks, and that are pretty tough to remember and not confuse with others
+JACubed that's like saying he should do an average of 5 with the beginners method because then it'll show that "you don't need a better method to be fast" just because people CAN get good times with 4 look last layer, doesn't mean you should aim for that
+Stewy That's exactly right! This is similar to Collin Burns saying that Full OLL is overrated, and that fast times can be achieved with just 2-Look OLL and 2-Look PLL. While he's not wrong, if one wants to be as fast as possible, they should strive to learn all 78 CFOP last layer algorithms. They're not as hard to learn as people think, and yet they're so efficient!
FELIKS IS ILLUMINATI: Let's see The Feliks' unnoficial record is 3.69, first let's see the sum of the numbers: 3+6+9=18, OK, let's continue, the last 2 numbers of the time are 6 and 9, do u remember what happened in 6/9? It was 1 month before Feliks' first official comp, His last video on 6/9 was an avarage of 11.42s, so 1+1+4+2=8, the video is called Pratice for NZ championships, how many events did Feliks participated at NZ champs??? 8 events. Remember the 18? What day was the NZ Champs? 18/7/9. And that isn't all, At that comp, Feliks won by 7.40s of difference by the second place in the first round, in official ranking, there is 4 people that made 7.40s, 4 people, the only person that made a 4 in a comp was Lucas Etter, as Lucas as Etter have 5 letters, what have 5 letters too? LADEN, who is Laden? A brazillian singer that is so famous by doing funk songs, his most popular song is Tá Tranquilo Tá Favoravel, where was filmed this song? BRAZIL, what happened in Brazil too? the 2015WORLDS that Feliks went and did 5 times 5s, coincidence? I don't think so, why? take a look: Feliks did 5 times 5s, so 5x5=25, 25 remember one person, Collin Burns, looking at that name, I ask you: who burns? Ellie Gouldin, one of her songs is On my mind, where u use your mind? to learn algorithms who know ALL the algorithms? FELIKS ZEMDEGS... Coincidence?...
+BrodytheCuber There's a but too much in efficient F2L to go in-depth with, as most of the efficiency comes from experience. If you really want to be efficient at F2L: avoid unnecessary rotations, DO NOT waste moves, build up look-ahead, and practice different ways of inserting F2L pairs from different angles (basically, experiment). That's really all Feliks does, except he's been doing those things for years, so he can perform them very fast.
+Andréa et Valentin speed cubing after watching this video I thought to myself, I can match that speed no problem, and lookahead shouldn't be a problem. I do an ao5, 17 seconds, which is what I average.
The wonderful thing about this video is that it shows that even if I were to get disabled and have severely limited finger speed, with enough work, I would still be able to get pretty fast times on a 3x3
Okay ummm.... I realised that fast tps is not necessary but look ahead and not to pause and some awesome finger tricks are required for this! Thanks mate!
I feel so ashamed, I try so hard to work on my turning (speed, accuracy, etc...), yet here Feliks comes with sub-10s with really slow turning. I'm just in complete awe.
this shows that not only does he have fast turning but he has the most efficient way to execute nearly every case in the fewest moves and know almost exactly what he is going to do
Hey Feliks, um actually, I really impressed by your multiple world record of solving the cube, I want you to upload video about your updated mains. I know your 3x3 main is gans 356s v2 but, I don't know anything else. Please reply to this comment. It would be so nice! LOL
That 7 was mind blowing.
Ikr
Unreal.
Imagine the time he would of got if he speed solved it
+Donovan M 4.90 seconds!!......WAIT
The whole average was mind blowing.
So you don't have to turn fast to be good... You just have to be Feliks.
David Orona xD
and full zbll
Manuel Gutman you have to be full ZBLL ? lulz
you just have to be Feliks is enough !
You also need the Orange Jacket
This is probably your most helpful video since it's what you'd do in a solving situation and it's slow enough that we can actually see what you're doing. Great video!
+UberCuber But I think he uses more tricks (Especially ZBLL) than he would do in a normal solve.
+Alister that is true.
+Alister yeah, recognition would be easier
I disagree
UberCuber Let me rephrase, seamless and fluid recognition, without pausing
If that's slow turning I don't wanna show you my "fast" turning
Same
Same here
+Pablo Punk yeah thats slow haha
***** yeah yeah we all know this...
+Austin Green
but it's not so simple.. LL recognition requires two pauses unless you can predict it which requires insane amounts of experience
that moment when you try to solve as fast as you can and only get 30-50 seconds but Felix gets 10 while going slowly
truu
Ddt Regulator it's so slow, he improve the speed during the solve
looks like he got tired of being the fastest cuber
lol
+The Craziest Cuber He wanted to let other people get a better average than him.
this insults me more than your full speed solves, it's like 'yeah I'm still faster when I turn at 6tps'
XD SO TRUE.
+Finlay McEwan That was barely 3tps mate.
Maximilian Berkmann its more than 3tps for sure, maybe not quite 6 though. Either way, that makes it even more impressive!
7.83 😭
lol
If you watch at 0.25 speed, you can see how elegant his finger tricks are.
"you don't need to turn fast to be sub 10", yea if you know zbll and your recognition for oll and pll is less than 0.2!
this video makes me so incredibly mad its not even funny
Haha it was meant to motivate
+Feliks Zemdegs I'll practise and be like you one day!
Feliks Zemdegs So is it basically showing how important lookahead it?
Yep... and your tps (turns per second)
KN cuber me too..
Have to say I do not normally comment on UA-cam videos but as a mature cuber (46) who is trying to get sub 15 globally this is as inspirational as I have ever seen.. Fantastic stuff
:) nice to hear! Certainly achievable
Awesome, I can see my future.
Slow turning and he is still faster than me . Now i can die peacefully.Thank you for making me feel like a looser.
I couldn't get a faster average than that if I turned as fast as I could, keep it up Feliks! You are the best cuber in the world and I hope you continue cubing for aolong time (pun intended)
You should do a QnA,anyone agree?
yes
it would be boring cuz everyone asks him technical questions so it wouldn't be fun
He did a reddit AMA a while ago.
I agree
This just proves that efficiency through continuous learning comes hand in hand with smart practicing if you wanna be good or even best at something.
Now this is impressive! Anybody can do 5 second solves :p But this is just insanely mind-blowing stuff. I freaking love your turning style right there!
This makes me so relaxed
Got mah friken rubiks brand over here with a 3 day average
You made my day better, thanks. :D
Thanks Feliks, it prooves that look ahead is way better than speed
+Amin Rosli
Not if you want to be faster than 9 seconds..
yeah i know that, but its better than having average of 20 sec with very fast turning woth a lot of pauses
Amin Rosli It's difficult to estimate which is better. Imagine if you could do 100 tps that'd be more worth than lookahead.
I think they are both equally important, the problem is that many people tend to neglect lookahead by turning faster than they can follow visually. you should do this in a comp lol
johnkrausphotos just to troll
Haha ultimate flex
He would still win if wears the Orange hoodie.
Love you Feliks, you are the best!
You are my motivation to learn PLL OLL F2L :) I know a few algorithms :)
Good luck :)
Those are your "slow" turns? I can do slower without even trying. get on my level.
Lmao
teach me your methods
+post #617166 It's called take a cube apart
+BL Cubes Peel off the stickers ;)
+Benjamin Chang xd
The tps picks up so much on scrambling
Now this is gonna make everyone do slow turning solves
+FastCubeMaster slow turning color neutral solves to be precise
+Antonio Barba Well, that's kind of the point. Doing slow, pause-free solves and gradually turning faster (which improves lookahead, and by extension, turning speed) is exactly what this average encourages!
yep!
you are literally the best cuber in the world ever
Hi Feliks. Keep up the good work. And could you maybe do a tutorial on how YOU solve the rubiks cube :D?
That is some satisfying efficiency.
If he executed that 7 with his normal tps it could have been a sub-4 solve.. Lol
Incredible fluidity
Even with slow-turning he is faster than me :( Sad story
Fazter than almost everyone
me too i feel you bro
My PB is worst than that average, that means just one thing:
Feliks=god
+Jordan Caycho No bro, I Phil Yu ^^
+Martin Duran mine is 9.566 phew
its feliks after all xD always so happy when a cubing video comes out !!! You motivated me to start cubing 3 weeks ago :D
Can you do a slow turning video for 4x4/5x5?
last solve was a thing of beauty
0:11 What the hell was that fingertrick?
More like a thumb trick
finger
This is so satisfying
do a slow turning for OH now too :D
+Ninjabrickmaster234 slow turning OH is pointless, since you already won't be able to turn as fast OH as 2H, your lookahead should be a-okay.
Plot twist : the cube is a paid actor.
When your is a church and your trying to cube 😂😂
What
when you're at church and you're trying to cube
The best słow turning solves that you can watch on youtube.

The cases with blocks and good algs are cool, and at soem point, you'll feel them easy to remember, but there are some cases that has no blocks, and that are pretty tough to remember and not confuse with others
hi karlzhao
Bros slow turning average is my ultra instincts average 💀, mad respect feliks
Can you do a 2-look OLL and PLL average of five (fast turning)? It will show that you don't need to know full OLL and PLL to be fast.
+JACubed that's like saying he should do an average of 5 with the beginners method because then it'll show that "you don't need a better method to be fast"

slow turning is the best
do a beginner 's method ao5
Jason Zenarosa YESSSSSSS!!!!!!
He’d probably get sub 5 tbh
It will dis motivate me , cuz he will beat my PB even with beginner method(((
@@ethanhonest9206 nah
I needed this video...
I got 10.72 ao5 with slow turning and OLL + PLL. Is that good? Sorry, I don't know ZBLL's or anything like that :(
Yeah, I think it's very nice!
Эмир Умеров :D Fun fact, thats what I average with my normal turning too haha
That's actually really, really inspiring.
I solved 1 cube while watching him solve 5 clubes =/
your slow turning itself is incredibly fast !!!
Now go for 2x2 - 7x7 relay with slow turning 😂😂😂
That would be awesome.
I would like to see that
+MVcuber Yeaaah good idea !
I don't even..... You, sir, are impressive! Aaaaaall the way!
Thanks for sharing. :)

Wow you spent probably an hour wasting your time. (Clap, clap)
It's 3.52 actually :p
+Feliks Zemdegs Oh fuck, so I have to develop a new theory, it will come soon...
Congratulations, Feliks actually read this, hahaha
Can you teach us these "tricks here and there" and some ways to be more efficient during F2L?
+BrodytheCuber There's a but too much in efficient F2L to go in-depth with, as most of the efficiency comes from experience. Im waaaaay better at slow turning
I BET IM BETTER!!!!!
nah
My tps is .00000000000000000000000000000000000000000001
Aaron Xiong no shit he’s being sarcastic
The most motivational AND discourageing cubing video ever
he definetly shows that he is the master

GJ Feliks, as always :)
I'm determined to beat this now
+Kennan L. >says the guy who immediately comes to mind when i think of fast turning
good luck with that buddee
how smooth turning broo .Feliks u r the best
mind blowing that 7 hahahaha.. your f2L is so good. love you man. awseome
Okay ummm.... I realised that fast tps is not necessary but look ahead and not to pause and some awesome finger tricks are required for this! Thanks mate!
Feliks, please make a video explaining how you maintain your cubes (lubing, cleaning and core adjust).
I feel so ashamed, I try so hard to work on my turning (speed, accuracy, etc...), yet here Feliks comes with sub-10s with really slow turning. I'm just in complete awe.
This is sooooooo satisfying 😍
I'm waiting for u to break the world record!!
Ok we get it Feliks, you are good.
Damn, Daniel
My best cuber is you!
So satisfying
Dude you're friggin crazy
this shows that not only does he have fast turning but he has the most efficient way to execute nearly every case in the fewest moves and know almost exactly what he is going to do

The fact that he starts the base with the most suitable color pattern is amazing
That made my whole body shatter at the cellular level.
So smooooth !!
I want this scrambles!
I see you working them ZBLLs boy.
Feliks can u upload more videos on your channel more often? Please reply.
are u kidding me now ?!
feliks ur awesome
it's so slow but so fast ! :)
This was soothing
one cube to rule them all
Incredible
Amazing!
turningstyle is really cool
0:17 He's getting faster!
you are amazing
MASTER !
rubik's cube ASMR
I'm crying so hard right now
This Cube has maglev?? 😂😂 Man, 2024 and i whish this clean turn...
Even when you go slow, your still very fast!
When your PB TPS is slower than Feliks’ TPS in this video
Wow... Superb..
god damnnn!! crazy stuff...
