Do you think 'goal based' investing is overrated to the extent that you could/should plan for 0-5 year goals at the max and the rest should just be invested as per your risk appetite and to generate wealth. As you nicely said 'to generate wealth is the goal' and while you do it, you just plan ahead for upcoming events ('goals') for upto 5 years to use appropriate debt-equity mix considering certainty of needs.
