I tigged carb inlet tubes like that for my BSA singles. Allens on 441 head allows a strip in frame too. Nice bike thing of buying a es2 hill cliber project.
Peter - My diesel motorhome has oil jets in the crankcase that squirt up onto the underside of the piston - cooling and lubricating it when it's working hard - I wonder if it would make your big single which was really designed for touring more reliable when raced?

Just make sure you turn it on before use!
