Just discovered this song and artist through the most unlikely source, the Season One finale of Star Trek, Strange New Worlds! Simply wonderful and beautiful! Such a striking voice!
.A Fan of the Song cause of "Star Trek"...and will be Posting this on my Facebook Page for my Post 📺As Heard On TV📺 Episode 6️⃣0️⃣ Monday July 25th... with a Prologue of the Episode Scene😊
First time I have ever found a great new song by watching Star Trek. Played over the ending of the season one finale of Strange New Worlds. Wow! Absolutely beautiful and totally unique. What a voice!
If not for Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, I'd have never Shazamed this song and added to my playlist of favorites. I love this song! Thank you Melissa Carper for sharing your gifts!
I heard this today on Star Trek and was instantly hooked and wanted to hear the whole thing, it's beautifully written and performed by you guys, thanks for the wonderful song
When I heard this on Star Trek: Strange New World, I thought it was a track from the 40's. What a wonderful surprise to see it's recent. I'm going to be 71 this year, and have been slowly not remembering some small things, which is very annoying, so this song connects with me. I just love it and would like to add it to my music list. PS: I love the sheet music on the piano.
Just heard it on Season finale of Star Trek: strange new worlds. Honestly I was expecting a Black lady from the 50s or 60s. 😂😂😂. So much soul. Definitely one of my favorite discoveries of 2022
I’m so grateful for Star Trek Strange New Worlds for introducing me to this incredible artist/song. Such a perfect simplicity. No need to over produce…. Classy, charming, beautiful. Thank you!
Absolutely beautiful Melissa. Especially for a guy like me going into early onset dementia. I used to see the Carper family here in Austin when you all had my friend Cindy Cashdollar play with you at the Driskill. Your voice is so beautiful.
I love this song. It’s a simple, gentle, loving nudge to enjoy my life. It also inspires me to not be so serious when I’m creating my own music. Thank you
Star Trek Strange New Worlds sent me here completely gobsmacked! Reminds me of those old 1920s/30s born-to-lose country blues. MC, you have a new fan!! Buying albums from bandcamp now...
This song is as quintessential as Melancholy baby as originally sung by Al Bowley.. So perfect and classic in style, yet so new.. The lyrics immortal in context and the timbre of your voice ringing back into the 20's and all the way back to now.. Keep singing Sister.. You have the voice of the angels of olde.. You brought my Grandmother's spirit by to dance with me... Thank you so much... I have added this to my permanent records, and added you as well.. I just love the older souls.. especially ones with so much grace inside.. Namaste.. *Bows with deepest gratitude*... Do call me Sun.. Dearest Melissa and crew... G&GB.. Please keep singing and playing all of your days.
Heard this on KCRW 89.9fm last night...WoW! Excellent vocals & the best acompaniment. Fooled me! I thought, why hadn't I heard this among the other '30s & '40s fab singers!
They say that memorizing lyrics to songs and poetry (difficult to do as we get older) is very good for the brain; it's the stuff that keeps us young :) Lovely voice, lovely music!
Love this song and the new record. If this was the 1990's, Daddy's Country Gold would be the CD that doesn't leave my CD player right now. Can't wait for my vinyl to arrive and for LIVE shows!
I heard this song on Star Trek.... thinking it was from some artists of the 1940's or so. Looked it up and was surprised. Love it and added to my playlist.
Wow! Love you missy! Coy and I used to cover brennen Leigh and noel McKay's let's try breaking up and making up again, it's so cool you have them on the album!
