Very good analysis @Vicky, thank you. Honda India thought they can befool Indian car owners who have been carried away by Honda City sedan reputation in India, and tried to compromise on the build quality of Elevate. Honda must retrofit additional door seals and door damping to prevent noise issue in all Elevate cars sold till date in India with a one time recall. Otherwise not only Honda India's reputation is at stake, their market presence will further diminish to become non-significant automobile brand in our country. On 28th Sep '24 (yesterday), I was driving my Elevate Vx CVT (run almost 7000 km), on the new Hosur Dharmapuri highway. Being a newly made highway there are no trees or buildings on either side of the road and not many vehicles plying on this road, many patches are almost an empty deserted stretch. During this drive Terrible sound heard from under the Elevate, at speed about 90 kmph, never heard such a sound before. My wife (she is a co-driver in our long car trips) started shouting. We got down from the car and checked all accessible areas, including car bottom, nothing unusal was found. Continued the drive at a lower speed, there was some sound continously. After entering the old Salem highway the noise reduced to minimum. The empty roads and high cross wind-flow on the new highway could have been the cause of heavy noise. I drive Bengaluru to my hometown in Kerala almost every month, but travelled on this new highway for the first time. Such a noisy experience is the first time in my entire driving experience over my 34 years plus with more than 3 lakh kilometres in own car and many more km in multiple vehicles which I have used in my Indian Armed Forces career. When the front doors of Elevate are opened, there is only a thin metal kind of strip between the fender & door hinges. However other cars like Toyota Hyryder, Creta & even Brezza (I have personally checked them....... other cars may also have it, I am sure!) have a thick foam lining on top of this thin metal strip which obviously insulates the cabin by reducing the tire noise coming seeping in through this space! This foam lining is missing in Elevate as well as in Amaze too which raises the noise level inside the cabin. If installed, it would not cost more than a couple of hundred bucks to Honda!!

Share the video after rectification of that sound issue.. very helpful
Sure 👍
Will it be a problem on a dusty road ?
No
I cancelled my booking of Elevate last August…..only after seeing the missing features like- ventilated seats, 360” cameras, hybrid engine option, sliding handrests on front seats, low thigh support on front n back seats, etc.
Now after seeing your video wrt high NVH levels inside Elevate n reading other owners comments on frightening high noises inside cabin while highway driving….I thank myself for my decision of cancelling the booking of Elevate last year…..
Fyi I am a Honda City owner for last 11 years with no complaints.
It's really sad to know. Thanks for sharing your experience ☺️🙏
Good work 👏. I am also planning for damping to arrest bit of noise. This gives me some direction. Are you from chennai?

Wouldn't adding extra rubber beading to the door frame wherever required as per your finding solve the issue. I think this will be cost effective than adding dampening medium inside doors. Let me your thoughts. I will proceed accordingly.
Excellent analysis on this issue.
@@vildevils7337 thanks for your appreciation 😊.
I suggest you 1st go for damping. Because
Rubber beading will only prevent dust.
I tried and keep doing. It is a mystery

Hello brother I was condering elevate but this much noise is not acceptavle as my major running is on highway and hence thinking of creta.
Can you showcase some solutions which can be done by customer to reduce it to a good level??
@@architjain9346 i suggest please take test drive multiple times both in tar and cement roads and decide. Don't rely on my view alone. Its user perspective. How elevate owners didn't feel any noise issues.
Creta is better in terms of sound insulation but when it comes to safety and reliability, honda will provide that.
Noise engineering ❤❤❤ great job
Thanks for your appreciation bro.☺
For the fender area gap .... suggest injectable foam which will fill the area....I don't know if it is available in grey or black colour..... used white and cream colour. Honda cost control is affected in causing such issues....this is evident in their India products.
@@pakhans thanks for sharing the information 👍
Very good analysis. Honda guys are over confident about their car engine being silent. So may be they ignored all these basic points.

Does adding foam and damper in the doors will affect the warranty of the car???
@@gtv7009 No. But In a case, if it was not installed properly and that affects the fitment of the trim, The warranty will not cover.
Yes I also noticed that the engine sound comes from mostly on the left side

Try expandable pu foam...
Messy but might be effective.
Not sure of its fire resistance
@@dannycbe949 thanks for your suggestion. I will consider it.
I already guessed it bro. Wherever you see the rain drops/rain water inside the door areas after a heavy rain, are the areas where wind noise enters!

Thx guys ,i will cancel my booking now. I also felt that there is some noise in the cabin
@@meghraj Thanks for sharing your opinion. I suggest you please take the test drive multiple times and decide.
Thanks for info, i was have Honda Brio, i haven't feel any NVH issue on 100+ speed in brio, but in my elevate there are lot of outside noise in cabin at 80+ speed.
Can we solved NVH issue with 4 door damping ?
Or anyone did door damping ?, what is his experience, pls share.
@@vimalsingh4379 thanks for your appreciation 😊.
And that for sharing your experience.
1. Yes, we can solve somehow by doing 4 doors damping.
2. I heard few people did damping and that worked out well.
I think Honda India did a cost cutting by not providing rubber beading on all the doors.
Please check the export models of the Elevate.
@@pravardhanus ok sure. Thanks for sharing your opinions.
Final result = we have to do rubber bedding at door edges? I'm wright ?
Rubber beading cant be installed just like that. We have to consider the design aspect of the door panels.
But,
We can add damping sheets and sound absorbing memory foams.

Is NVH still bad if u drive below 100 on highway.
I was planning to buy elevate but this nvh thing is really deal breaker
It started to bother me after crossing the 60 speed level. It's not a deal breaker. It depends on person to person. I suggest you take a test drive multiple times and decide.
Yes , nvh issue is a deal breaker
My top 2 priorities are reliability and safety. SO don't wanna go for tata & mahindra as they are not reliable and service is bad.
Not bothered about segment and budget.
Waiting for honda amaze facelift, I hope they take care of NVH in it.
@@anujbajpai3159 ok bro. Will hope for the best.
its an issue on bad patches only and above 100. Relatively high by 20-30% but not a deal breaker. Otherwise a fantastic product.
What is the mileage of your vehicle?
