The NBA runs ads saying the league speaks for "the people who may not be able to be heard.”
It's “PR hogwash” says journalist Melissa Chen, because the NBA discourages its players from criticizing injustice in China.
One general manager tweeted, “Fight for Freedom. Stand with Hong Kong.”
That’s a good thing to say, since China is crushing freedom in Hong Kong.
But the NBA apologized profusely, afraid that China might be offended.
Hollywood grovels before China too.
Actor John Cena innocently called Taiwan a country.
China insists Taiwan is not a country, but a territory the Chinese own.
Fearing his movie would be banned in China, Cena released a video begging China for forgiveness.
Sadly, there are few examples of bravery. We highlight one important one.
Lebron saying that Morrey was "MISINFORMED" has to be one of the most blatant lie peddling there ever can be.

He's not one of those hypocritical players making excuses for China or Turkey one second and saying how he stands with Black Lives Matter the next. He may not be one of the best players but he certainly is one of the best humans in the NBA and beyond. Much love and respect to Enes.

I quit watching the NBA years ago and never looked back. The hypocrisy is disgusting.

I stopped watching games after BLM events and support from NBA. That organization is deadly to humanity. I confess that I have been watching some NBA highlights recently again because I really enjoy the game, but becoming aware of this new low reminds me of why I quit games. I think I will abstain from highlights, too.

Shockingly, out here in Utah, our local news station KSL 5 has been merciless in reminding Olympic viewers about the Uyghers. They also mentioned how it was odd that Taiwan and Hong Kong were presented right after each other, attempting to make Taiwan seem like a territory like Hong Kong. I'm not holding out much hope for bigger news outlets, but at least they're talking about it.

I actually need to take the time to thank the Coca-Cola Corporation for bending the knee to China. All of my favorite sodas are Coca-Cola Corporation so in my venture to stop supporting China I have cut soda from my diet nearly entirely.

It's one of the healthiest things to do to cut soda consumption. When I just cut mine in half and replaced the other half with water, the pounds started shedding. I love soda too much to cut it completely though 😅

While I strive to not give money to these various companies: It's not easy to find some products where every company who makes it, is anti-your beliefs. Additionally, how easy is it to not buy any products made in China? It's impossible. So until Americans demand change, this is going to be an issue.

I still have local artisans I can buy from, my local government has yet to regulate them out of existence. I know I'm not 100% off Chinese goods but I'm getting damn well close. Just do what you can. Giving up alittle bit of convenience will go a long way for your local economy. I see how buying products off eBay can be construed so I'm going to be working on changing that. I should be spending all my money locally anyways, instead of just most of it.

I have not been a huge Amazon supporter and now shopping local when I discovered that Amazon charges as much as 40% of a sellers gross profit to use their services.
"We stand for human rights!". They say this while wearing clothing or shoes made from sweat shops and child labor. But they remain quiet when there is real violations of human rights. All because they don't want to lose opportunities to make more money.

I just watched "Moon Fall" this weekend. It was obviously ridiculous, but a fun movie anyway. The main problem (at least for me) is that they had injected at least a dozen lines that had no purpose other than to make sure the movie could make the Chinese government happy and play in the Chinese market. China wasn't in the movie, but when they needed something they would reference it as being supplied by "our Chinese friends", the news clips playing in the background were all Chinese friendly, the Chinese tech was better than the American tech, the kid was learning to speak Chinese (even though it had nothing to do with the plot), etc.

This video states the reason why I don't watch the NBA, go to or watch movies, don't wear Nike, and don't drink Coke products. I wish there was a way to not buy Chinese made products at all but in 2022, that's nearly impossible. However, I do have quite a few musical instruments that were made in Indonesia and not China (hopefully that's at least a little bit better). My family and I are going to Disney in March but only because that's what my daughter wanted as a graduation celebration. If it was up to me, I would've done a Cruise on Royal Caribbean instead.
And what is Russia doing?
The problem is that the American economy has boxed itself in a corner. The appropriate response would be to stop consuming Chinese goods and services until they stop committing genocide. Unfortunately, we rely on China to make most of our consumer goods at an extremely low price, and the American people don't have the willpower to lower their consumption. If we had more manufacturing and production in this country instead of importing everything from China, it would be a much easier solution.

This is what happens when politicians, IN BOTH PARTIES, granted the People’s Republic of China Normal Trade Relations, back in the 1990s, and withdrew diplomatic relations from Taiwan, back in 1979. SPOT ON! That's why I don't wear Nike, watch the NBA, drink Coke, and have nothing but utter contempt for Hollywood and 99.44% of Liberals.
I realized that the secret to making a million is saving for a better investment. I always tell myself you don't need that new Maserati or that vacation just yet. That mindset helped me make more money investing. For example last year I invested 80k in stocks (with the help of my Financial Advisor of course) and made about 246k, but guess what? In true "social justice" fashion, we as citizens of the free world, and potential consumers and fans of these actors, players, companies and franchises have a duty and moral obligation to call out the hypocrisy of those kowtowing to communist China. Tweet at them, berate them, # and @ them over and over until they hear us loud and clear that we will not support them, cheer them on or encourage any of their endeavors until they APOLOGIZE TO US for turning their backs on freedom, human rights and dignity of those who are ACTUALLY oppressed.
NO AMOUNT OF MONEY SHOULD BE ABLE TO REPLACE HUMAN DIGNITY AND RIGHTS... JUST SAY NO TO BRUTAL REGIMES!!
