Exactly, the problem with a support-ish role like gunner in a game like this is you can only effectively act as a gunner if your team is already doing well, in which case they don't really need the support you might provide anyway
In that situation you just throw the laser and the 100 rounder on the 240B and go to town from the hip, fucker rips through walls like hot knife on butter
galil is stupid an ak74 or qbz95 with extendedmag/drum mag and bipod does as good or better of a job its a huge waste for the gunner class the only reason why you play gunner class is to play either the m249 for the 200 rounds mag dump of a gun or the m240b that take out pretty much anyone with 1 hit at any range or hose down enemy under cover.
I just never find myself ever needing these guns, mainly because there’s other weapons that serve the gunner role much better, but also because there’s no children throwing rocks in insurgency so there’s really not any niche for it to fill it’s real life role
Galil is really good when you attack the objective since there's not much point in camp... eh, holding strategic position. Give it drum, recoil grip (or some other grip you may like) and 1x optic, and it rips.
Yeah but putting a grip is useless pretty much and u just payed 4 points for a regular 3 point grip, better to keep the bipod and use the points for nades or something
I used to use the galil as a kind of "sneaky" lmg. Taking it drum magazine, flash hider and a 2x or a 4x scope. You don't get tracers and without extra ammo you are harder to spot because you don't have a backpack either. Only gripe with this playstyle is that you only get 150 rounds.
The advisors had the 85 instead though, but ye L86 could be good for security gunner, or maybe an M27? Doesn't seem like the marines are part of security though
What I don't understand is that they had the choice for a 50 round banana mag. South African forces are issued it as their standard first mag so they don't need to reload as quickly because the R4/R5 rifles they use shoot at 800RPM. The Vektor versions of the Galil are by far superior anyways.
I think the point is they're trying to make it somewhat realistic, you're playing as insurgents who are using any equipment they can get their hands on and often use weapons that conventionally wouldn't fit in that class, but make due with it. Probably often substituting LMG's with other weapons. I like 90% of the general idea I think it gives this game an aesthetic gritty edge but maybe they could compromise just a tad bit more for balance
One thing no one ever seemed to notice about the Galil. Gunner ammo capacity, NO TRACERS. Much easier to kill an M249 gunner when he's billboarding his position with tracers. Harder to kill a Galil with a flash hider who knows what he's doing. Idk if it takes STANAGs but if it does then that's another point to it
Gunner is one of my fav picks when defending on push or Frontline. Maybe my aim just sucks but I like the Galil because if I'm pushed off position I have a relatively light and agile rifle to use until I get to a new spot.

How would you feel if they added RPK/M27 to the gunner class? Would they feel too samey to the Galil? Otherwise the only thing they can do is add another belt fed MG which I don't think the game needs. That's why I think the RPK/M27 are the perfect pick for a new gunner gun. Either that or something crazy like Semi auto shotguns only available for the gunner class, if they ever add a saiga / Benelli m4.
@@NyanchsPage I get that logic but the heavier weapons allow you to set up isolation by fire on a target. When done properly this is an invaluable aid to the securing of an objective. By design and use a heavy weapons system isn't meant to secure an objective but suppress and allow your maneuver element to move more freely. If you start incentivising people to select the gunner class because they can take certain rifles then you're creating just another rifleman and losing that all important element. That being said, the state of the game does mean the gunner class isn't being used in this role often because most people don't understand the concept or choose not to exercise that role. So I can understand the flip side of it. That level of coordination isn't all to common and already too many gunners try to use the MG platforms as an assault kit so I don't know. I'd love for the RPK and M27 to be in the game. RPK should be a gunner weapon as it's used as an organic support weapon. The m27 was implemented at first in that role but has now taken on the standard battle rifle role, at least in the USMC so I think it would be more suited in rifleman or advisor. Nonetheless gunners need love and whatever they choose to add (if ever) I wouldn't consider a net negative.

Galil is one of my favourite weapons in this game, it lets you be able to hold positions well while still being good for CQB unlike other Gunner weapons. I love to take a Galil, slap on a drum mag, suppressor and a scope and wreck house in Domination.
I really don't understand why they chose the galil for gunner when they have a functioning (save for sound) RPK model, like I feel they could give galils to riflemen, actually finish the RPK and give the Sec boys an M27, they mirror eachother very well and both have access to higher capacity drums/magazines
M27 is just an HK416. Because we had a retarded Navy Admiral move into the Marine Corps as a General and then declare it to be our new "machine gun" to replace the M249 doesn't suddenly make it a machine gun in the traditional sense. By that logic then you could just take any automatic rifle and throw it into the Gunner class. I think a better idea would've been to make the Galil come with the 50 round magazines to be the weapon you pick to bridge the gap between the typical rifles and traditional machine guns.
The funny thing about the Galil is that it didn’t see much service with the Israelis. Because the US was quite generous with M16s and M4s (which if you have seen InRange, is well sealed and does well in dust and sand), there wasn’t much room or need to use their domestic service rifles, and when they wanted something new they instead went for the Tavor.
How can you forget the part that Ysrael Galili was once called Yisrael Balashnikov prior to moving to Israel. Imagine a world where people end up mistakening the Kalashnikov for the Balashnikov

I kinda get it, it's a more generalist/offensive weapon for the gunner, whether if that's actually required from a gunner, well.. Hey look I like it for outpost alright
It should be noted that you get 3x 50 round drums for the Galil with no ammo carrier, but only the one 50 round box for the M240B, so to get the same number of rounds you'd have to pay for the heavy carrier. Admittedly 7.62AP is a much more powerful round than 5.56nato, but a rifleman with G3/FAL has 10 more 7.62 rounds across 3 mags than you do in your one box M240B for the same price and in a much more handy package too.
Fun Fact: Galil was originally named Balashnikov, his first gun was an AK-47 clone and his magnum opus has gone on to replace the AK in some parts of the world.
@@andreivaldez2929 I dont know if you are replying to me or him. But Galil's first attempt at making a firearm was an AK-47 clone, this wasn't the Galil AR, that would come later.
Galils are actually kinda based ngl. I still never use em tho, cos like ya said; I'd rather just spend that little extra on the thicc boys or just play as a rifleman lmao. ACE 52 do be a poggy weapon too ;)
I think most players go with AKM over Galil as it seems to do mostly the same and only uses a rifleman spot instead of a gunner spot. Though I won't lie, the Galil can be a pretty solid weapon as well.
I think that in the next update they should add the sa-58 for security advisor and Ash-12 for insurgent advisor. Reason for the ash-12 as a insurgent advisor is because we do got Russian mercenaries, and they could have connections to get one
The problem is that the Galil isn't a Gunner weapon at all. It's an assault rifle. Did my basic training with the Galil in the Portuguese paratroopers, and it's a really good marksman as well.
Perhaps it would've been smarter if they went with the 7.62 version of the Galil over the 5.56 variant. Sure it's only got 25 rounds in the mag and I'm not sure if it has a drum, but it would probably do better than *this.*
I would just like to point out that the inventor of the Galil changed his name. It was originally, I'm not making this up, Balashnikov. Guess it sounded too much like another firearm lol
In real life galil is nothing like insurgency sandstorm. This thing is an AR with a built in bipod that could cut through barb wire and a tactical bottle opener
Nah. HK416 should go to Rifleman or Advisor, keep real machine guns in the Gunner class, or at least give us larger magazines as the default for Gunner. The Marine Corps' decision to adopt the HK416 as the M27 was some stupid shit decided by a General who had no clue WTF he was talking about and now we've gotta put up with it (although the M249 has its issues).
I see the Galil as an automatic rifle and not a machine gun. In game it's more like an HK416 or RPK-74. Mobile firepower for closer range engagements that is light enough to allow the gunner to keep up with the attack.
M27 and RPK would be great. Instead of the M60 for Insurgence, perhaps an RPD since there isn’t a Machine gun that fires intermediate cartridge like the M249.
i think he recorded the sound twice, so it dephases some frequences. @Sick Snipes Try to see if you recording settings are like usual. You might have ticked forced mono or something like that
Instead of catgirls I'd be happy with more female and male voicelines so you can further customize and make your character unique from others. Maybe also some new face and hair models. More beards. And maybe elite skins(things that just look cool but offer no legitimate tactical advantage). Keep the camos as base(no micro transaction) so there's no pay to win.
Even with the drum mag it’s got relatively low recoil I can personally mag dump full auto across the map even without recoil grip and compensater since it’s basically just the best rifleman gun just on gunner with it having the highest velocity in the game it’s insanely strong. However I will say that the m249 and pkm on some maps is just the better choice
The Galil is a perfect gun for the gunner class, and is in fact what most experienced players use when playing that role. It allows you to both fulfill the role of a gunner effectively by cutting off enemy reinforcements and holding down key map areas, but also lets you be mobile and have offensive capabalities because of its handling. If it wasn’t for the galil barely anybody would use Gunner. As for the difference between the galils. The Security SAR variant has a shorter barrel which is why we see the slight differences between the two. And as for the Gunner class needing more content. It doesn’t. You already have a light, medium and heavy machine gun options to pick from and there isn’t much that could be added to change that. Don’t get me wrong, it’d be cool to see something like an RPK, but that’s about it. Yeah, it would be cool, do we need it? Absolutely not.
@@thatonenigeriansformula Yeah, the bullet drop is really unsignificant and makes this one of the best picks for long range engagements, even compared to marksman rifles.
The galil SAR is effectively a fucking carbine variant why they made it an LMG is beyond me. At least the ARM (variant we have as the standard galil) is actually intended as one. SAR=Short automatic rifle by the way
The SAR is the carbine version of the Galil, sort of like the M4 to the M16. The shorter barrel is why the velocity is lower. I'm curious as to whether the short barrel affords any advantage in weight, point ability or maneuverability inside buildings?
As a user of the Gunner class, the MGs are completely combat ineffective. Bullets can't pene walls (THIS AUTOMATICALLY IS WHY THEY SUCK), can't accurately tap fire down on range, they have a delay when you pull the trigger (ULTRA NOPE), and they can't be used to push because you have to stay prone in order to make use of the bipod. The Galil allows me to have a rifle and be USEFUL to the team.
Lack of pen, and the tap fire needs to be fixed. The slight delay on the 249 is because the it fires from an open bolt. The MG3 shouldn’t have this problem. This should not change. Neither should the recoil when standing/kneeling. The 240 weighs 27lbs, and is legitimately uncontrollable when attempting to fire it from standing, less so kneeling, but not much.
@@nathanielkidd2840 I can hold down a door with a MG, GREAT. Oh but now they either lobbed a grenade, shot off a RPG, simply flanked around, or get sniped due to my exposed body.

"I want to play Gunner but can't pull my mouse down for shit" : the gun.
Galils are actually kinda based ngl. I still never use em tho, cos like ya said; I'd rather just spend that little extra on the thicc boys or just play as a rifleman lmao.
ACE 52 do be a poggy weapon too ;)
Galil? More like ligma
Ligma Galol
We need a green gun for the insurgents and the new sig light machine gun chambered in 6.8
I think most players go with AKM over Galil as it seems to do mostly the same and only uses a rifleman spot instead of a gunner spot.
Though I won't lie, the Galil can be a pretty solid weapon as well.
God I hope NWI finally adds in new lmgs, preferably a KAC Stoner 5.56 and a RPD.
I am hoping for an Ultimax 100
I think that in the next update they should add the sa-58 for security advisor and Ash-12 for insurgent advisor. Reason for the ash-12 as a insurgent advisor is because we do got Russian mercenaries, and they could have connections to get one
I love this gun, makes an amazing aggressive MG with 50 rounders and a PKO
Thanks for covering my favorite gun
The problem is that the Galil isn't a Gunner weapon at all. It's an assault rifle.
Did my basic training with the Galil in the Portuguese paratroopers, and it's a really good marksman as well.
Perhaps it would've been smarter if they went with the 7.62 version of the Galil over the 5.56 variant. Sure it's only got 25 rounds in the mag and I'm not sure if it has a drum, but it would probably do better than *this.*
We need to get this fella more subs
Love to see another hebrew hammer get some love
I would just like to point out that the inventor of the Galil changed his name. It was originally, I'm not making this up, Balashnikov. Guess it sounded too much like another firearm lol
You should take the Galil AMAX, it’s just IMI’s better Galil
You ignore the fact that the Security Galil is actually the Squad Support variant.
M240B is all you need, they've done it, you exist only because the M240B allows you to.
Galil? More like FAL best weapon.
Yeah, in Source
In real life galil is nothing like insurgency sandstorm. This thing is an AR with a built in bipod that could cut through barb wire and a tactical bottle opener
An RPK makes more sense in the Gunner class instead of the Galil.
Add that and put the Galil in the Rifleman class, ez.
RPK would be a good addition for Insurgence and could add the HK M27 for Security.
@@andreivaldez2929 I mean it's the only way for Marines to get a new rifle.
I see the Galil as an automatic rifle and not a machine gun. In game it's more like an HK416 or RPK-74. Mobile firepower for closer range engagements that is light enough to allow the gunner to keep up with the attack.
M27 IAR & RPK
M60E4 & M60
M27 and RPK would be great. Instead of the M60 for Insurgence, perhaps an RPD since there isn’t a Machine gun that fires intermediate cartridge like the M249.
@@griz312 I thought the same.
Why do the in-game sounds, sound so weird? As if you're inside of a barrel, very hollow and with reverb. Do you have some processing on it?
i think he recorded the sound twice, so it dephases some frequences. @Sick Snipes Try to see if you recording settings are like usual. You might have ticked forced mono or something like that
The Galil SAR on the rifleman was my favorite gun. Wish they didnt scrap it
I feel like the KAC AMG and/or LAMG would be a great addition(s) to the game.
now that the VHS-2 is coming to the US market we need a video on it!
Gun Guide for Insurgency: Sandstorm now featuring every gun available in the US market.
The sabaton made me subscribe
Fyi look up South Africa's use of the Galil (produced in za under license) during the border war etc... An iconic assault rifle in za.
As a swede i highly appreciate the sabaton meme
Instead of catgirls I'd be happy with more female and male voicelines so you can further customize and make your character unique from others. Maybe also some new face and hair models. More beards. And maybe elite skins(things that just look cool but offer no legitimate tactical advantage). Keep the camos as base(no micro transaction) so there's no pay to win.
Idk why but i love the gallil
I see the Galil users as a gunner subclass. Yes they are gunners they just do it differently.
your series made me play PvP instead of just Coop
Used this thing as a sniper once on crossing got some crazy cross map kills
@@thatonenigeriansformula Yeah, the bullet drop is really unsignificant and makes this one of the best picks for long range engagements, even compared to marksman rifles.
@@optimise. and the integrated bipod is great, so we can spend more points on a fancy 6x optic.
yo SS, do you think you'll do vids on World War 3 if it becomes legit?
The galil SAR is effectively a fucking carbine variant why they made it an LMG is beyond me. At least the ARM (variant we have as the standard galil) is actually intended as one.
SAR=Short automatic rifle by the way
Great video bro.
Could you do the 50 cal soda can launcher next?
Experimenting with the different mgs. I found I prefer the GALIL SAR.
The galil sar is actually the south african version
The SAR is the carbine version of the Galil, sort of like the M4 to the M16. The shorter barrel is why the velocity is lower. I'm curious as to whether the short barrel affords any advantage in weight, point ability or maneuverability inside buildings?
If anything, it would be for easier movement in CQB.
Game audio is fed up
As for the spontaneous Galil update being weird, lot of choices these devs make nowadays are pretty *weird*
Finally, love the galil
That winter updated joke did not age well XD
Actually, SAR stands for Short Automatic Rifle.
*RPK and M60 fever dreams*
The ahoy vibes
literally the only reason this is a gunner weapon is becasue it was so in the last game...
Maybe the barrel length of SAR makes it a better pick when shooting out of windows?
ak74u with a drum mag and compensator is a better option
@@godemperormeow8591 the weight is why most of the worlds militaries use mag fed SAWs, not belt fed ones like the US’s M249. Use the MMG (M240/MG3) for holding a lane, not a door. Holding a door is for incendiaries/shotguns/SMGs. 7.62x51 is a 500 yard cartridge without even trying, if you’re going to push it into a CQB role, why would you expect good results?
just give gunners a BAR
do the belt feds still have the weird delay before firing? cuz that's why I was always used this gun no weird delay
I miss being able to choose any gun at any time in domination:(
I should add that I play on ps4 so it might be different compared to pc (I know boohoo I play on ps4)
Literally why would you pick anything other than the SAW as the gunner? It's got 200 rounds by default.
reminds me of guns ahoy
Funny how Mr Galil changed his name when he moved to Israel he used to be....... Mr Balashnikov ! .. I kid you not.
Also I have a question so weapons have the same damage on all platforms right ?
A pistol does the same damage as a mp5 and uzi there no hidden stats like mw (2019)
Caliber based more so
Balashnikov
countered by throwing stones
we won't be having any mgs soon because casual losers from arcade shooters are the game's best bet rn since there isn't a lot of hardcore players out there so to draw call of duty run and gunners all we have is deagle and two very useless smgs (yeah yeah pdw whatever same shit different designation)
I hope we get a Stoner 63, HK 21, M60, RPK 74, and AUG HBAR.
The Galil SAR belongs to the Security Forces because it lasted longer in Israeli service than the standard Galil.
Why they are in the support class I don’t know 🤦🏻♂️
