This is pure genius, easily one of the best canon rocks there is. I'm surprised it hasn't got that many views, EVERYONE should watch this one! Sakata is a genius.
My point is that the people that say this wasn't two separate harmonized takes, that it's one guy using a harmonizer or some cheap trick, aren't giving this guy the respect he deserves.
These two ROCK! I like this version better than their "final version" - mostly because of the way it begins - they hit the base well when they kick in - AWESOME. Pachelbel would be proud!
Just FYI for all you doubters... no harmonizer on the market can intelligently change keys on the fly. Ex. there are sections of this that he plays an F#, and the harmony is a A... but then other sections where he plays an F nat., which would confuse a harmonizer pedal or patch set to D major-- it would play an A-flat. There are lots of other accidentals that no harmonizer could play the way he played them in the two different parts here, w/o switching keys of the harmonizer or patch on the fly.
haha, this is awesome! I like the small improvisations you made, maybe try some more of those? The sound of both guitars combined is just sweet, thanks for this awesome video.
this is the coolest fricking version ever! perfectly in sync. but r they doin this in the same room? cuz the shadows on the wall and stuff on the desk are the same
now THIS IS ORIGINAL. a good way to be different from those other Canon in D solo player. i imagined this will b a lead and harmony guitar, but its a twin lead! SUGOI!
lol, I thought that too at first but if you look in the info it clearly says "I'm Not twins" so yeah, 1 guy doing 2 recordings and Yeah, is that octaves or a perfect 6th?
that was probably the coolest thing I watched in my life the perfect sync was awesome I also loved the left side, which I presume was the rythem or not lead side (twas sick though!) from 4:30 to the end was simply my favorite thing ever.
I'm sure it was a joke. In fact, I make the same joke all the time. But there is a general love in South Korea and Japan for shreddy, melodic guitar music that often pushes guitar players from those areas further than in the west.
I still listen to this these days.
I can't believe I've been bumping this for 13 years; this is still and always will be my favorite version of Canon Rock.
This is pure genius, easily one of the best canon rocks there is. I'm surprised it hasn't got that many views, EVERYONE should watch this one! Sakata is a genius.

VERY clever harmonizing, im very impressed by the version doing the harmony, and nicely timed to put them both perfecting in sink
Definitely has to be one of the best versions on UA-cam.
Nice!

Pachelbel would be proud!

your cover was the only one that made me smile
nice coordination, pro-ness, and feel the music could not be any better described in your video.
haha, this is awesome! I like the small improvisations you made, maybe try some more of those?
The sound of both guitars combined is just sweet, thanks for this awesome video.
i don't really need to say anything from the other hundred comments you got. Really great improv, it was awesome, and nice sound quality too.

now THIS IS ORIGINAL. a good way to be different from those other Canon in D solo player. i imagined this will b a lead and harmony guitar, but its a twin lead!
SUGOI!
Congratulations dude, it is awesome.. u can do a new version with your 2 guitar-style
Oh my God, that is freaking sweet!!! Excellent job, dude.
Why does this version have so few views? This is awesome!
Pretty neat version of Canon. It looks like he's playing the opus in different octaves if you take a careful look. *thumbs up!*
theirs so many of these on the internet, is it really all that hard to play? or is it something doable after like a year of lessons
ça rend vraiment bien... quel son !
Wow! do you have more songs? any yours?
the harmony's sound beautiful...
wow this is one of the greatest versions! keep rockin!
oh sweet telecaster :) And sweet playing.
That took every other version of canon on here and wiped its ass with them
Wow! That sounds so good!
Wow, it sounds amazing....keep up the awesome job!
you're playing the song in the laboratory where you've been created, MONSTERS!!! you're great!!
Congrats!!! You play perfectly a high hit!!!
thats still cool, no matter how many times i watch it!
lol, I thought that too at first
but if you look in the info
it clearly says "I'm Not twins"
so yeah, 1 guy doing 2 recordings
and Yeah, is that octaves or a perfect 6th?
it was the same person, just with different clothing, & a different guitar. its so easy to tell
they are the same person it says so in the beginging of the video.
really cool sound
wow amazing how u did this sounds really gd
No words! Just Amazing!!!
It's the best version I've ever heard
What software did you use this? Cos my webcam with built-in microphone doesn't give this clear sound. you use any microphone?
that was probably the coolest thing I watched in my life
the perfect sync was awesome
I also loved the left side, which I presume was the rythem or not lead side (twas sick though!)
from 4:30 to the end was simply my favorite thing ever.
great... you are like a star....!!
Nice guitars especially the EVH!
Wow great deduction, What made you think that?
Is it the fact he said "im not twins"????
this is great! Canon in 2 parts is just brilliant!!
twin guitars rox :)
sktr32gtr, JerryC, and funtwo should play in one concert. That would really kick ass! :)

they seem to be both be playing the same so how are they getting the harmonies....is one detuned?
This one is one guy. Not two guys, he's just playing it in harmony with himself.
