I'm really glad you explained your point of view towards VF in general TMM. ( Just being honest here as a virtua fighter player who appreciates your content ) I definitely agree with most of your view on how VF is more aggressive than even Tekken 8. It really is! Little something for the people who might be curious. There's also a big difference in how you tech in VF especially since you block with a button and not a direction, in VF yes you have to guess ( in an educated way ) which direction to tech but you NEVER have to guess when cause you can simply hold Guard and Punch ( you will keep guarding ) and either hold forward, back or neutral and this will automatically tech any throws that is teched in the direction your holding. Basically, if you aren't attacking or sidestepping in VF you are constantly teching a throw option. So if your opponent is near the edge of the ring you will mostly never get surprised with a back throw if you are good at applying throw techs every time you aren't being aggressive. It doesn't change the throw mixup ( which is VERY IMPORTANT in VF indeed ) but it does eliminate the need to react to throws hence kind of making it more about you reading your opponent rather than reacting to it. Reaction are kept for whiff punishing and hit confirming in VF.
No he's not! He's being very biased and disingenuous. Overall he dislikes the game because it doesn't play like Tekken and aims to have his fans be on the same page.
@@Utre-d4ulol! It's always a clown lacking decent knowledge on a topic that says nothing better than throw petty insults and run their mouth. Get TMM's meat out of your mouth and acknowledge the fact Virtua Fighter IS one of the big ones. Tekken was always trying to compete with Virtua Fighter, not the other way around. Why do you think Harada has been pushing Seiji Aoki and Sega so hard to make another game lately!? Sega has also stated that if they couldn't make the game innovative, they weren't going to make one.
Back in 2012, there was a tournament of Virtua Fighter 5 and Tekken Tag 2. Over 200 people showed up to compete in Tekken Tag 2 while only 4 people showed up to compete in Virtua Fighter 5. It shows how important visuals are. Even if Virtua Fighter's game play is better than Tekken, people won't be interested in it if the visuals are bad. They had the chance to improve the character models and sound effects in Final Showdown, they didn't, yet they expected for the game to do well when every other game that got released during that year looked better.
@@bilateriannewt4222 That's the issue. They could have improved the character models since the stages are changed in every VF5 iteration. They could have improved their faces and update the sound effects or something.
It actually amazes me how any criticism directed towards Virtua Fighter is taken so seriously. You VF fans need to chill and let people have opinions. Not everyone has to like your "grounded martial arts" game.
It is the positivity TMM lacks atm. We need to push this NEW game, hype it up in order to survive. And TMM destroys and sabotages the trailer. That’s what all the hate is about. His criticism may be justified, but he sabotages a game which was released ONLY ON PS3 when the PS3 got released. And the series kept quiet for like 10 years. That was the issue.
VF fans doing their best to be as annoying as possible about defending VF at all cost while also gatekeeping their favorite game on reddit. While also hoping that it will be bigger than Tekken. They are not the brightest ones.
@@TheOnionSenpai You guys even trying to understand my message? At least try to be positive. Judging a new game by its 17 years old predecessor is seriously bs.
"This game is bad" Cool opinion. "Looks like shit" Nice. Not even a VF fan but this guy has no idea how to make an argument about a game he dislikes! 😂 I like TMM btw.
The problem I always had with VF was the block button. I started fighting games on SF. It's just natural to me to hold back to block. Which is one reason I still play SF and Tekken. But yeah you're right about the presentation, VF just looks boring af and the characters are just bland. Compared to Tekken and SF, it's a joke.
@@ACE-dw6olOpinions, man. You can't change them. I'm genuinely hoping VF is a good game. For now, I can't see myself playing it though. Personally, I look for flashiness and over-the-top funny moves. Sparking Zero and Naruto Ninja Storm series fits right in my favorite games to play too. Maybe Virtua fighter will feature a laser shooting demon, a samurai who can use his sword and prosthetic hand to fly, or may a super tall guy who wears a paper bag on his head and uses a giant medical scalpel as his weapon. Everyone has preferences, especially the majority.
Only thing I want to add to how aggressive VF is. Side steps are actually very strong. Simply because, there's so little true homing moves. Its either tracks left tracks right. In alot of ways they are how you play defence. But yes VF is INSANELY aggressive.
Yeah that’s one thing I love about it, every match is played up close you’re forced to engage, and the side stepping is so intuitive you can easily see which way you need to step or if a move isn’t stepable at first glance
It was more from the fact he doesn’t have any idea how to play VF and refuses to learn. The fucking street fighter players put more effort to give VF a fair try than TMM
After Clive came I actually was considering moving to this game with some friends. Can’t wait it looks so good and martial arts fundamentals reminds me of old tekken!
I love watching VF5. This franchise finally broke the curse that Soul Caliber unfortunately may never break, getting a sequel. As much as I love the endearing Sega arcade sounds and visuals, it has to catch up and grab the attention of everyone else who aren't god mode Japanese players pushing 40, while keeping the staple gameplay of VF. God I miss Soul Caliber.
My main criticism of Tekken 8 (and modern Tekkens) is, it’s too exaggerated. Weaponry, magic, teleportation, etc. Tekken used to look beautiful in motion and have “fictionally enhanced martial arts, with some exceptions.” It has completely lost that now. Normal human martial arts practitioners are the minority, and those that are there are moving at x2 x3 human speed, and often look janky and implausible. Tekken isn’t beautiful in motion anymore. If Virtua Figher can look current gen but focuses on realistic martial arts and fluid movement, then it will occupy a niche that Tekken has vacated.
You are wrong. Virtua fighter 1 was more liked then tekken 1. Virtua fighter 2 was a huge sucess in the arcades in terms of positive reviews and sales. It was far superior to tekken 2. Virtua fighter 3 was a huge hit in japanese arcades. It was so popular in japanese arcades that it was recentlt re-released in japan. Virtua fighter failed because of sega. The saturn and dreamcast were the least popular consoles. It was easy for tekken to ger more players and sales on the playstation consoles. By the time virtua fighter 5 came out sega was in financial trouble and couldnt put resources towards virtua fighter
This "grounded" approach was what I hoped we'd see in Tekken 8 (like the first trailer suggested). Tekken 8 feels like you're playing a Dragon Ball game now. I hope the Virtua Fighter developers deliver a solid game AND don't try to milk the costumer like Bamco does with Tekken 8. Would be the first Virtua Fighter game I buy.
nah what will happen is he will get his ass kicked then trash talk the game and go back to tekken 8 like he usually does when he's trying other fighting games.. if he doesn't find an easy spam he can abuse and get instant gratification he won't spend any time learning the game...he will lose a couple of times throw a hissiy fit then go back to tekken I just hope he does this quietly without uploading a youtube video trash talking the game like he usually does
What will be funny when people who never played VF yet glaze the sht out of it right now will realize why the series never made it big and why VF REVO lost 60% of its players just in a few hours
I can see this becoming popular due to its animations and next gen feel, its setting a bar for fighting games. I can also see them adding Baki/Kengan Asura characters to this.
This is just a hand animated video, not real gameplay. The graphics may be close to this, but the animations of the two fighters connecting won't be anywhere close to this in the real game.
As someone who preferred tekken 7’s more grounded graphics and gameplay ie(no heat, guns, and lighting sparks and bullshit flying everywhere) I’m interested in what Virtua has to offer. But from reading just this UA-cam comment section the Virtua stans seem like the most insufferable freaks Ive seen in a while lmao. Definitely doesn’t make me want to try this game.
You think VF fans (aka some of the most well mannered and welcoming people in the FGC) are insufferable and you have spent a considerable amount of time in the Tekken community? Tekken players are regarded as the whiniest, repulsive, man-babies in the entirety of the FGC. Not even MK players are this bad.
The VF reddit is worse. A youtuber (can’t remember his name) wanted to make videos about VF5 and asked them about the strongest / iconic moves of ever character. They immediately started gatekeeping and told the guy to never make videos about VF because he’s not knowledgable enough. Like, bruh. VF has issues on its own, but the community is not doing it any favor either.
@arpadszabo661 Chad the third? Yes. I remember that. To be honest. Gaming communities are terrible because a vast majority of gamers are dungeon dwellers. With only a few hundred thousand being genuinely great human beings. But that is vs millions of active gamers. The FGC taking the crown on toxicity. As a fighting game enthusiast it brings me to shame knowing furries and "corno" game enjoyers are hundreds of times more enjoyable to be around/welcoming. Minus the unusual mannerisms. But I'd take weird over the fgc.
Funny you said that, MMS aways makes fun of VF and incentives stupid behavior against VF, that's why Aris from Avoiding the puddle doesn't give a crap about this anime game anymore.
@@flavioalbatrozz2557 of course people make fun of VF and all 20 of you that actually ever liked it. All of you drooling over REVO like its going to be amazing while 80% of the players left the beta after a few hours and never looked back is hilarious. VF is a meme inside the FGC. The franchise that never managed to become big regardless of being among the first ones with the chance if doing so, because the actual talent went and made Tekken.
Thank you for stating the point that most reviewers have been avoiding. The truth is that Virtua Fighter has a lot of catching up to do. They need a compelling story mode, rollback netcode, training mode, and something fun and unique that makes them stand out from the crowd. Soul calibur 6 and Dragon Ball Sparking Zero has also taught us that even if you have all of that, constant updates, listening to community feedback, and supporting tournaments are very essential. Needless to say there is a lot more to do than just putting out a graphically impressive fighting game and expecting players to keep on buying because of Name recognition.
I mean, it shows off the graphics and environment interaction. Also the small teaser they showed at the initial launch was hype. It's actually pushing forward fighting games outside of adding heat and anime bullcrap
I'm a Tekken player who has never played VF before. Let's not pretend to be ignorant to the fact that TMM blatantly speaks on VF in condescending fashion with nothing but negativity
mms is saying nothing that millions of people haven't said 18 years ago, only difference is they actually know what their talking about and don't have a hate boner for the game.
@@holeyschitt but You can't ignore the fact that a lot of the stuff he said has some truth to it I mean there is a reason why the game kept on doing very bad otherwise we should already had vf6
TMM coming out with a lot of misinformation. VF was always primarily targetted at the Japanes arcade market where for much of the time it was the no. 1 fighting game. The first 3 games were exclusive to failing Sega consoles so you didn't get it on the far bigger playstation and the console ports were barebones apart from VF4/Evo. It was that narrow focus on the domestic arcade market that made it big there but small time everwhere else. They've already said they need to change this attitude. They didn't just do the same thing either they've changed up the gameplay more than the Tekken series. TMM also not understanding the mechanics. VF has lot of defensive options and option selects. You can evade and break throws and fuzzy guard is much stronger here. VF5 vanilla had attack/throw clash. VF does have a midrange and advanced movement but this was reduced in VF5 Final Showdown. This can change again in VF6 since new VF games do change things up a lot.
Amazing how you said he came out with a lot of misinformation while talking about completely different things in 80% of your comment. He didn’t say that throws can’t be broken, he said that 3 different throw have the exact same 10f animation, which is true. Putting this much effort into defending a franchise that never made it big for very obvious reasons is a bit goofy my guy.
@@Utre-d4u Of but it's not goofy to make video after video discussing fighting games like he does or to read through the comments like your doing? That's not what I said about throws. I said you can evade and break them and fuzzy guard under them and block mids among other things like holding down an escape. Defence in VF is not as simple as he's making out.
@@atuls55 His entire point was to counter people who think they will have a easier time defending in VF. He explained how DIFFICULT defence is in VF, he even mentioned how Tekken stole guard breaks from VF. It's like you decided to just come up with your own narrative.
@@atuls55 So yeah, you are a bit goofy trying to say that TMM is making defence sound easy in VF when he did the exact opposite. All you did was add more layers, you reinforced his argument.
@@dripfoe_3307 No your the one not getting it. How can he explain how difficult or limited defence is in VF when he doesn't fully understand how it works in the first place? You can hold a throw escape while guarding at the same time. Evade doesn't automatically lose to throws. There are character specific guard breaks (most of which aren't devastating) but some also have parries (that you can also input a throw break into) and sabakis which unlike in Tekken always beat throws. Throws, attack speed and movement has changed a lot too over the series so don't judge all this on just this version of the game.
true but gamers have never been introduced to actual martial arts movies style tactics - maybe too overwhelming or some just scared to explore and afraid of change - that being said its time for change most fighters are now fantasy - this seems next level generation tech :) the previous video at game awards 2024 confirm this.
@arpadszabo661 VF 4 was very popular back in the day, legitimately competed with Tekken. Now they just re release VF5 over and over again like it's GTA or Skyrim lol.

@@bLastarda Tekken 7 alone sold almost as much as the whole VF franchise, count almost any other Tekken game sales and 2 games sold more, not a flop btw.
I think what VF did is ingenious - having a penalty for blocking by way of strong throws and guard breaks. This inherently makes the game more aggressive and interactive between both players. In VF, you have to attack to avoid getting blown up. Meanwhile in T8, thanks to heat, you have to GUESS to avoid getting blown up. Heat inherently makes the game less interactive, because you hate to wait through someone's bullshit 50/50 pressure for half the round before it's your turn to play.
The animation of hitting fist against other hand is straight up from yakuza 4, reusagotoku strikes again Overall I wish them well because they make my favorite single player games
The worst thing about Virtua Fighter is that you have to hold the guard button to block and you can't move while blocking like u can in Tekken. So u either block or move away... Can't do both at the same time. And yeah the grabs are a serious problem
The grabs aren't a problem. You can evade and throw escape at the same time. Sidestepping actually works in VF. Movement works properly unlike Tekken so the tracking throws are valid. They're are many ways to beat throws. The guard button isn't a issue. Because the moveset is still robust even with 3 buttons. Tekken allowing you to guard while moving back is the reason there's so much spacing to begin with. You can't punish someone for back stepping that much in Tekken. In VF you can. Spacing comes at a risk. These things you're talking about are essentially just different. Once you get used to it it's not an issue at all.
Well, sidestep actually works unlike Tekken, no BS if it's a female character. While side stepping you can actually do a throw escape or even do a cancel fuzzy guard to avoid a full circle move.
@@zekiel2533 what is too much spacing? Spacing is a good thing... U need some mobility in a fighting game and Virtua Fighter discourages it. Like there are stages with ring outs so already u have to be careful.. which is fine...but not allowing blocking while moving is just too much of a restriction... Also u said sidestepping works but the recovery after a step is so poor that u can't punish after u step a move most of the times.... How is that good at all?
@@zekiel2533 And grabs being homing sucks in Tekken and sucks in Virtua fighter as well... I don't know why people think... It's a good thing... Thank God Tekken got rid of it
Even if VF6 is amazing, most Tekken players will drop it in a week. Most people can't adjust to the differences. Each fighting game has its own flow and its own culture that informs players' values and stuff.. Basically, Tekken players are conditioned by their Tekken heritage to find Tekken-logic rewarding. You need to acquire the taste in order to transition between these games in a serious/competitive way. VF does not use Tekken-logic. DOA players adjust to/love VF and the games are 90% the same. VF and DOA are like siblings, Tekken is the cousin. Tekken players shouldn't view VF as their exodus unless they are willing to play VF5 REVO and learn to love VF (or play DOA if you need graphics).
No one gives a f about heritage in 2025, people will play it cause it doesn't have stupid effects and looks cool. Most people are not into labbing stuff
I kinda just want TMM to stay on the Tekken side of opinions. I love his Tekken hot takes. But this is like asking a football fan to break down basketball and what's currently wrong with NBA. Yeah they may point out some obvious things but they don't understand the more nuanced things going on with basketball. Like better example is i don't ask Lordknight his opinion of Soul Calibur lol. I keep hoping TMM really sits and learns some VF i think he'd have a nasty Akira or Jacky. Two execution heavy characters that require strong fundamentals and get big boy damage. But that may never happen
Just want to comment on some information that TMM has used here that needs expanding First of all VF5 came out on PS3 without online and on 360 After DOA4 before SF4 and Tekken 6 and had online. The fighting game landscape was very different then. Regarding throws, - While there are 3 way throw mixups, you can also OPTION select your throw escapes to cover multiple throw breaks. One of the core elements of the engine is ETEG (evade throw escape guard) which is an option select to cover multiple situations, involving sidestepping, multiple throw escapes, and guarding. While yes, at base level what TMM is saying here is quite true about VF, there are more layers of depth that he has not gone into. There is defense, and its more than just guard, it depends on your current frames -5 = fuzzy guard -6= crouch dash fuzzy guard -7= Evade Throw Escape Guard Movement has always been more restrictive compared to Tekken however, so that is something to consider. VF is a very different game to Tekken, and that is a good thing. Do temper your expectations, but also be ready for something different.

SF has always outcompeted Tekken though. The tourneys have higher payout for players than Tekken. Thats always been a point of criticism for Tekken for as long as I’ve been following players.
Once again, TMM doesn't know the facts. In terms of presentation, compare Virtua Fighter games to Tekken games *of the same era.* Have you actually seen VF2 compared to TK2? Or VF3 to TK3? Virtua Fighter has always pushed boundaries with graphics and presentation. You keep looking at a 20 year old game compared to TK8 and acting like you know why the series failed. Not only inventing 3D graphics, but the movement of hair and clothing. Facial animations. Diverse stage shapes and walls. All these aspects of presentation that TMM glazes Tekken 4 for innovating, Virtua Fighter had done for *years* prior. VF failed because for most of the series it was a SEGA Saturn and Dreamcast exclusive. It had no chance to compete until VF4, and by that point it lacked brand recognition. TK has done nothing but copy its presentation from VF and DOA.
Ill say yhis. MM VF 5 (the latest version bfore Revo) did do well its why we have VF6. It was ENOUGH of a success for this to be greenlight. The older versions yeah i wont disagree with you and say they flooped. 5 came out at a decent time and helped get us to where we are now. To me this is a good step and the VF devs have always been genre-defining devs. They always did something that Tekken Lacked in skme way and Then would try to follow up and one up them. Unfortunately VF lost but was still very respected. I'm glad you didnat keast clarify to the VF tards about your stance. Last thing the last 2 versions of VF 5 did update the character modles and graphics at least. If you can see they did that at least. Its just not a massive jump like what VF 6 is.
oh hell no. ive heard all i needed to hear. im not playing a game with throws like that. its like everyone has a 10 frame marduk tackle LMAO. no thanks jesus christ who thought that was a good idea
What a cute little video. Yes VF is aggressive, but it has more defensive options than Tekken heat dash/smash 50/50 chip on block mix-ups. VF is about throw/mid mixups and up to -5 those are beat by crouch dash fuzzy guard, this mixup becomes more effective at -6 up till -10 but you still have options, like evade buffered throw escape, backdash evade to beat delayed strings. Another anti VF video as expected
Saying VF has more defensive options than Tekken is kinda talking crap already my dude, crouch dash fuzzy guard can be beat by delayed throws its just common sense if you mindlessly keep doing your throws immediately after your +5 and keep gettin fuzzied ure just dumb, "evade buffered throw escape" ya pray you guess the 3 option break correctly, blah blah blah... you cant speak about 50/50 and at the same time be praising THE 50/50 GOD of fighting games my dude. You just have to go check pros eatin throws for breakfast at major tournaments top 8.
I also believe this is the vision that the developers have for the game, and one they strive to at least match - if not exceed. Because otherwise? Some gamers who saw this video are going to go batshit insane over it; crying and whining and probably complaining about it on Reddit for the next six months or so after the game is released.
This is how fighting games should look. Realistic movements, punches that feel like they land, ducking and movement that doesnt look like a chicken head bobbing up and down. No green slime and sprays of paint splashed everywhere like Street Fighter, no incredibly distracting bullshit particle effects and glows and visual clutter like Tekken, and Mortal Kombat 1... is also there.
The game is not even out - there is NO valid data bar past games, so to say this analysis is "premature" is an understatement. Just sayin'...As for the repeated I hope it does well "BUT" did make me smile 😁 for the FGC, any fighting game doing well is a win, should not end up community Vs community nonsense so I am glad he does not feed into all that. He gave his opinion so will treat it as such..thank you TMM.... we move on....
I would enjoy VF more if the ring out stages didn’t exist. The block button having more utility defensively. Or replaced with holding back. And all of the characters having a total redesign overall. The developers need to stop being stubborn, do something new, innovative and fun.
tekken 8 should have competition, this is actually something positive, this and very tekken 8 is in a shitty state. changing the series' assumptions by 180 degrees, tragic hitboxes, tracking, for me personally the worst is the MK11w tekken fakes just without thinking it through. I wouldn't complain if they were working on it all the time, but they don't. I hope the second session will fix at least some of these problems. I want to continue enjoying Tekken after all. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for both games because no matter if I like a given game or not, fighting games appear again and I hope it continues like that. especially since MK1 is such shit that I don't even want to criticize it.
Some points he makes I agree with. Some I don't. I think character design is more bland than say Tekken 8 but at the same time, I actually believe many of them as a true martial artist over so many Tekken characters. Pai is fast, not over sexualized and uses opponents momentum against themselves with certain throws & parries. She probably weighs 110 lbs so that would make sense. She's believable as a martial artist. Lili is Tekken 8 for example is this prim & proper girl that would never be in a physical altercation in her life. So many characters look like they spend more time in the morning applying buckets of gel to their hair so it sticks straight up vs actual training. Lars looks ridiculous. Just ruins the immersion for me. Yes Tekken has a story but it's the dumbest shit of all time. It's so out there & doesn't make a lick of sense. I have a hard time giving it any credit there. All that being said, this doesn't have to be one or the other. People can play both. We should want both to be good. That pushes each company to keep innovating and making their product better vs sitting back & getting fat & happy.
Throws in virtua fighter aren’t just blind guesses dude. The whole throw system is a part of a very intricate mix up system. Finding success with throws comes down to reading your opponents tendencies, conditioning them and using timing and spacing to outplay them. There’s guessing with the throw breaks but even that can come down to strategic play. Depending on who you’re up against you can predict what throw they’re gonna go for depending on your positioning on the stage, or you can simply just jab them out of the throw attempt there are no counter hit throws. It’s baffling how this dude can be so loud and confidently wrong about something he’s clearly out of his depth in.
A lot of the info he is giving is actually untrue. Especially the things he says about throws. 😂 literally has opinions on mechanics he doesn’t actually understand
following this logic there will no longer be a fighting gamewith an emphasis on defense.😢 It's a pity, maybe try to change the approach to defense, because with Tekken they had no chance, but Tekken 8 threw defense into the trash and decided that it wanted to be like MK11. so maybe they will take her out of the trash, shake the dust off her and take care of her.😅 maybe someone else will pick it up too.
Virtua fighter is a perfect balance of aggressive and defensive play. If you’re more of a counter defensive player you can definitely do that in that game no problem
@Sin-pt2eq I'm going to be playing VF5 soon, so I'll see how it really looks soon. thanks for the answer, it gives me some hope because Tekken 8 is so-so in terms of being a continuation of the Tekken series. I love this series but Tekken 8 reminds me more of MK11 than the sequels to the series.

It doesn't change the throw mixup ( which is VERY IMPORTANT in VF indeed ) but it does eliminate the need to react to throws hence kind of making it more about you reading your opponent rather than reacting to it. Reaction are kept for whiff punishing and hit confirming in VF.

TMM makes a video of Virtua Fighter and the entire FGC burns.

Only thing I want to add to how aggressive VF is. Side steps are actually very strong. Simply because, there's so little true homing moves. Its either tracks left tracks right.
In alot of ways they are how you play defence. But yes VF is INSANELY aggressive.

Tekken used to look beautiful in motion and have “fictionally enhanced martial arts, with some exceptions.”
It has completely lost that now.
Prepared to fully switch to VF6 from Tekken honestly

Throws, attack speed and movement has changed a lot too over the series so don't judge all this on just this version of the game.
late but interesting, especially regarding players' expectations for more defensive and fairer gameplay with VF6. But we need a game with less BS

The worst thing about Virtua Fighter is that you have to hold the guard button to block and you can't move while blocking like u can in Tekken. So u either block or move away... Can't do both at the same time.
And yeah the grabs are a serious problem
There is an actual reason for it! So you can't jump or crouch on accident when you try to buffer sidesteps!

First of all VF5 came out on PS3 without online and on 360 After DOA4 before SF4 and Tekken 6 and had online. The fighting game landscape was very different then.
Regarding throws, -
While there are 3 way throw mixups, you can also OPTION select your throw escapes to cover multiple throw breaks.
There is defense, and its more than just guard, it depends on your current frames
-5 = fuzzy guard
-6= crouch dash fuzzy guard
-7= Evade Throw Escape Guard
Movement has always been more restrictive compared to Tekken however, so that is something to consider.

I think you should give Dead or Alive a try. Your opinion on the combat system would interest me
I also believe this is the vision that the developers have for the game, and one they strive to at least match - if not exceed. Because otherwise? Some gamers who saw this video are going to go batshit insane over it; crying and whining and probably complaining about it on Reddit for the next six months or so after the game is released.
And what is the name of this game
This is how fighting games should look. Realistic movements, punches that feel like they land, ducking and movement that doesnt look like a chicken head bobbing up and down.
No green slime and sprays of paint splashed everywhere like Street Fighter, no incredibly distracting bullshit particle effects and glows and visual clutter like Tekken, and Mortal Kombat 1... is also there.
no robotic movement, no broken throws meta regardless your fighting style, no lunar gravity jumps either aight?

I would enjoy VF more if the ring out stages didn’t exist. The block button having more utility defensively. Or replaced with holding back. And all of the characters having a total redesign overall. The developers need to stop being stubborn, do something new, innovative and fun.
“I’d really enjoy VF If it stopped being VF”
I bet you were the type of people that cried about “glitchy movement” in tekken as well and got KBD nuked
I respect SolCal for making a new game and not pulling a Sega and rereleased VF5 Numerous times.
The damage of that kick lol wtf was that
Its the exact fight from Twin Dragons
tekken 8 should have competition, this is actually something positive, this and very tekken 8 is in a shitty state. changing the series' assumptions by 180 degrees, tragic hitboxes, tracking, for me personally the worst is the MK11w tekken fakes just without thinking it through.
Ten million videos saying you are killing VF6 have been born.
6:59 true that sentiment has been very prevalent recently in gaming and its so exhausting and overdone
A lot of the info he is giving is actually untrue. Especially the things he says about throws. 😂 literally has opinions on mechanics he doesn’t actually understand
11:42 +91? Against king? +91? That must have been hell. Thats a seconds and a half. Wtf
TheMustacheManSWE
VF is faster and moee agressive than T8.. but hey at least the sidestep is consistent xb
They are entirely different games
Why is there so much hate in the comments lol
Virtua Fighter 6? Meh... Can't wait for the T9 Eddy bot spamming the same button reaching the lowest high rank with 0 effort.
King is a kid at throws compared to any VF joe tbh
I loved virtual fighter but they need to fix the practice mode, couldn't translate the weird button names
You can’t translate “punch” and “kick”
@Shodan130 you can tell the player which button they refer to lol
@@simondean5227 but then how do you account for different controllers. Ok sure j is grab, u is p and I is k. That’s the controls
@Shodan130 most fighting games adjust the practice mode accordingly, like Tekken will have Xbox buttons on Xbox and PlayStation buttons on PlayStation
@ I’ve never seen it lmao
All VF content is good content. Lets have another vid
following this logic there will no longer be a fighting gamewith an emphasis on defense.😢 It's a pity, maybe try to change the approach to defense, because with Tekken they had no chance, but Tekken 8 threw defense into the trash and decided that it wanted to be like MK11. so maybe they will take her out of the trash, shake the dust off her and take care of her.😅 maybe someone else will pick it up too.
Wan is this game coming qut ?
Tmm is just wrong straight up about throws in virtua fighter, because you can just jab and attack throws and also step them
You can’t step them. Throws literally beat evade as a hard rule
I thought tmm didnt like VF the way he talked about it before
He doesn’t, Or at he very least he’s played so little he lacks any understanding of it
Talking all this shit when the guys behind the Yakuza franchising be carrying Sega and this series forward.
Why would anyone with common sense be hyped about a non traditional Fgc studio carrying forward a fighting game?
@@Utre-d4u if you saw what that studio had to go through just to get their game up til now you wouldnt be asking that question would they have alot of assets that can be used for any fighting game back from the 2000s til now.
This game need Story and creator characters mode, and new ost.
VF4 are better lest VF
VF side step Actually works, the "agressive" part of VF is actually engaging, and not just a 50/50 like tekken 8, if you lose in VF it's only your skill problem.
Agreed i tried the VF game for first time - tekken has frame + moves that puts u into 50/50 which overtime becomes annoying we want a fighting game not a casino game gambling should not be forced upon gaming community - basically if u guess right u a pro gambler. even though i have much to learn in vf i feel if i loose it was due to skill more than 50/50.
Bro, the self report. VF is the most 50/50 focused game among fighting games. Ya’ll going to be so disappointed when that game comes out and ya’ll touch the franchise for the first time ever, because if you have nonsensical criticism likes this, you didn’t play it so far. Have fun parroting Arslan takes while waiting for that game. Then have fun refunding it when you guess wrong at the start of the turn and you get pushed out of the ring without being able to move If you can’t sidestep stuff in Tekken, especially 8, then its once again a skill issue self report.
ya thats why pros at that game be eating a million throws at major tournaments top 8 and mashing like crazy in general, not 50/50 at all...
@@arpadszabo661 You are a pleb. VF is known for having more defensive options and optionselects. Please dont talk if you dont know what you're talking about.
@vlastermaster you really can only see what happens in the surface right?
Vf5 is a great game. thats why they didnt change it. It was a way to see how interested people were still and People are very much interested lol. Tekken 8 is straight azz now. You know that.
virtua fighter always looked janky af to me. A fighting game from temu if you will. even smash is more compelling to watch and play.
Just keep shillin for Bamco, my dude. Your main source of income at 40 years old with a kid.
Well that was a sad attempt at flaming him. “Yeah bro, keep playing what you enjoy and making lot of money from the thousands of subs you have”. I’m sure he’s sad now

Another war in the comment section 🍿
Yeah I’ll start getting interested, once we get actual gameplay. Tekken 8’s teaser trailer taught me to never trust fighting game devs. (Although I like T8’s graphics - minus the flash explosions all over the place, like Heat in general.)
I hope actual VF 6 gameplay isn’t a letdown.
That just Tekken with VF at least they show more. This is what the devs are aiming for.
Buddy you realize the teaser and the chapter 15 cutscene are identical, latter had the muscles and effects more defined, former had none of that
If one thing is for sure then its that VF6 won’t even be close to this jackie chan style choreographed fighting. That might be a good thing though, because i can see it becoming mad obnoxious after 10-20 matches.
@@Utre-d4u
Its done by the devs of yakuza series, they can get it close to the video by the time it releases
"Flopped each time." Lol ok buddy
Yeah, flopped miserably would be closer to the truth
@@Utre-d4uit didn’t tho, I don’t understand why you guys feel the need to just lie like that. It’s one of the most ground breaking influential games in the genres history. It was definitely bigger in Japan but it did fine world wide success, but it’s always been niche, because of how hard it is. Just because it didn’t put up numbers like tekken 5 or mortal kombat games doesn’t mean it was a fail
Its garbage buddy @@Sin-pt2eq
@@guutenks2498 the majority beg to differ, but you’re free to have your opinion little dude
@Sin-pt2eq ya arent the majority in any sense of the word. The majority dont give a fuck about vf. "Little dude" lmfaoo shut your mouth bro.
No meters. Love the no meters
Thats how most fighting trailers go, duh..
@SapphireRetro no they dont? Lol just say u like cock bro
Wait until you figure out that it has one like every VF before
I'd almost prefer that you didn't talk VF. You don't respect it. Stay yo ass over there with Tekken 8 aka Soul Calibur 6.5, respectfully. Hold this automatic downvote please.
REEEEEEEEE
@@ashcrimson5148 You too. If you don't like something igno....lemme follow my own advice.

Everything TMM said made sense this time. I hope he plays VF; it would be great to hear his insights about it.
“Bro why doesn’t this game work exactly like tekken, it’s so jank” that’s about the height of his insight
