Music is an art form and a way of communicating, it’s always going subject to people’s interpretations and understanding of the language. The general population doesn’t have a deep and complex understanding of music like a musician does so when they hear something that doesn’t fall into the norm all they hear is a word that’s outside of their vocabulary.

Sometimes it’s for community, like concerts or intentionally communicating a common feeling. For some it’s for activism. For some it’s a form of self reflection. Others, it’s a way to let out pent up emotions, like extreme sadness or numbness in the form of depression, or perhaps rage. Let people love music how they want to.
