If anyone's interested, this is from a British documentary called Crime Inc., made in 1981. It really is excellent and is interesting as it was made when the Mob in the US were at the height of their power and influence.

@@GSF4life14 True. Some of the reason why the mob was a lot more exposed in the 80s, was because of how rapidly they were brought out from behind the shadows thanks to The Godfather film, JFK assassination, frank sinatra trials, jimmy hoffa disappearing in 75, and because of this a lot of their political power dwindled. 2serveand2protect I was watching forensic files the other morning and they had a gang which was Samoan in Seattle. The police officer said something very important. Most all of the Samoan people are good people. But with any group there is a criminal element. It wasn't right for people to say that about Italians and it isn't right to say it about the Jews or Irish. Most Big Families like NY Borgata's boast around anywhere from 100-250 Made Guys(Modern era) some of the families outside NY have around 40-50 Guys broken up into few crews depending on Region some Families are bigger than others.
The Los Angeles family had about 40-50 made members when jimmy was made in the 40s and probably remained close to the same until after the apalachin meeting in 57... the family slowly declined as the years went on as they didn't have the population of Italians to bring in. And they probably went under the wing of the chicago outfit at some point, which had a lot of control on the west coast and throughout the Midwest
They were definitely the largest homegrown mafia family in California. The families in San Diego and San Francisco were very small. Also an interesting fact the boss of the family in 57 when apalachin happened was I believe an uncle or something to tommy desimone who joe pesci portrayed in goodfellas. They were also big in the cheese industry with joe bonnano and the boss of the also small family in Colorado
Why in the god dam hell did whoever edite this keep cutting it right at the point he was going to say something everyone wants to hear. He did it twice on the same clip. I just love the way the weasel talks. Probably because it's the way I talk. Like saying Jackson for instance. It's called money laundering weasel.
The making ceremony doesn’t make much sense to me. “40 or 50 made members were there?” 3 years later the family was defunct and only had like 6 made members. I love Jimmy and his style, after watching many videos over the years I just caught this after listening to Johnny Rosellis biography, awesome book btw
Remember he was made in the 40s. The Los Angeles family had about 40-50 made guys probably through the 50s and 60s as well just slowly declined. They don't have the italian communities to draw from that they do on the east coast. They probably went under the wing of the outfit in Chicago at some point but also they didn't have the news coverage either there was probably plenty of made guys in that family that nobody knew and never got public attention like the guy frank borgia he talks about killing at the very beginning. I never heard of him till he said the name
I even heard an interview with an fbi agent working on the gambino family that when gotti made every member of the family come to the club to pay respects to him every week they were seeing guys that they never even heard of before, and found out they were members of the gambino family... Gotti really screwed over a lot of guys with that ego stuff but the point is that was the gambino family and there were people who were made for 30 years that they never knew were in the life and that was the late 80s early 90s imagine a smaller family on the west coast in the 40s. It wasn't until apalachin that the fbi started taking it seriously enough to really take a look at most of the smaller families throughout the country
Los Angeles family is where he originally got made he transferred to Chicago for a while I think. That's why he was sitting down with joey aiuppa. He was also close with the cleveland family it seems like he bounced around a decent amount so he definitely knew a lot about a lot of people. He even mentioned Giordano, boss of the St. Louis family who nobody ever talks about. St Louis is probably talked about the least of all the smaller Midwest families. You hear more about the milwaukee family then them I guess because frank balistrieri was involved in the casino skimming
I know he turned into a grass this weasel, but you can tell he was the real deal. He's been around a bit, done a few things. Can tell by his mannerisms. Snitch prick, he should have had some dough put away and an exit strategy for when he knew they were gonna kill him or kick him up forever. He could have hidden and still been a nan who could look in the mirror knowing he's not broke his oath. Hate hypocrites, stick to your Fucking oath or don't take the Fucking thing. Rough with smooth. He should have just ran away, got a shit job and started over.

My dad grew up with him. Called him the weez. Nice guy but had a temper.
So your dad’s 111 years old ?
This was very refreshing, lmao
My kind of guy.
"No they dont come back"
40-50 members???? I thought it was a small family
Joey aiuppa the outfit most dangers and the smartest rimo in the movie casino
Why in the god dam hell did whoever edite this keep cutting it right at the point he was going to say something everyone wants to hear. He did it twice on the same clip. I just love the way the weasel talks. Probably because it's the way I talk. Like saying Jackson for instance. It's called money laundering weasel.
03:30..like a magician..looooooool
jimmy twotones An alcoholic magician
@@etherealcatholic5711 WTF are you talking about? Your comment makes ZERO sense
I dont even know how to break someone's legs. Bat? Bend it backwards? 😂
The making ceremony doesn’t make much sense to me. “40 or 50 made members were there?” 3 years later the family was defunct and only had like 6 made members. I love Jimmy and his style, after watching many videos over the years I just caught this after listening to Johnny Rosellis biography, awesome book btw
I think when he says six members he means California when he means is making ceremony it wasn't in California
Hey Jimmy why the low ears?
One ear is lower then the other😂
He's a 32'nd degree Mason. How is this possible? Anyone know?
Liar Destroyer ...in the The Last Mafioso he tells the story about a negro potentate in Masonic...as a fuck ingredients favor maybe? ...fuhgetaboutit
Liar Destroyer I mean a fucking favor...stupid correct spelling shit

I read it. Informative. But I forgot. If he was born in Naples, who "made" him?
Juju Man Johnny Rosselli recommend him for membership.
Johnny Roselli proposed him for membership, the LA family made him.
His family brought him from Naples to America when he was four months old or something. He was made into the LA family
Revenge is mine Jimmy the weasel Fratianno
"Deez Jooz" cracks me up lol
A RAT IS A RAT IS A RAT .
Apt name
This is the 'boss of the California family' ??
Acting Boss 💯, That's what Sources online label his rank as.
He reminds me of Kramer lol
Joe bananna was the man.rip uncle joe
Jeeze what happened to jorden peterson in the thumbnail

Grass that he was fratiano did have a certain something character wise
Could tell he'd been about and seen and done stuff.
Pretty fucked up to choke someone to death
Killa
I know he turned into a grass this weasel, but you can tell he was the real deal. He's been around a bit, done a few things. Can tell by his mannerisms. Snitch prick, he should have had some dough put away and an exit strategy for when he knew they were gonna kill him or kick him up forever. He could have hidden and still been a nan who could look in the mirror knowing he's not broke his oath. Hate hypocrites, stick to your Fucking oath or don't take the Fucking thing. Rough with smooth. He should have just ran away, got a shit job and started over.
