Really one of the better lamps for that price, what is most important is that it can use literally all types of batteries. I think Lumintop is a brand that should get more attention, I use the AAA version at work. I can't even list everything that happened to her and she is still working. For the $10 I paid for it on sale, it really exceeded all my expectations
Goid review, Mark. I have 2 of these. The second one I bought only came with the magnetic tail cap, and I got it that way because I dislike the light under the tail cap switch. I have 2 other models of Lumintop flashlights that also have "always on" switch lights, and I keep them with the end cap loosened to prevent battery drain. The switch light does NOT come on when alkaline or nickel metal hydride batteries are used. You also failed to mention that the clip can be removed and attached to the groove at the other end so that it can be clipped on to a ball cap. A handy feature for a small light like this.
This is my edc light...14500 for my use is the ONLY way to go. It is nice to have the option of the other batteries...but 14500, only, for me. It is a GREAT light...bullet proof!
A plus would be that it's available in both cool and neutral white. A minus is that with a NiMH, there's not enough power for turbo, so it's just two highs. Overall, it's a good light.
Because of the green color I thought this would be on the latest Tool 3.0 which has a high of 900 lumens when using the 3.7 volt battery. A comparison video of 2.0 vs 3.0 would be interesting!
I have the Tool AA & AAA and like both of them! Unfortunately recently, my tool AAA stopped working. And after numerous messages sent to lumintop, I have yet to receive a response! The only other time i have had a problem with a flashlight was with a Streamlight and they took care of the issue Immediately !! Great customer service. Any suggestions about getting customer service to help me through Lumintop? Thanks much!!
I have had my lumintop for more than 3 years. The regular AA batteries last me around a month with regular use. I tried a nicron brand 14500 battery but it is selective of the 14500 battery that will work with the flashlight. All in all its a good budget light considering I have had mine for years and have dropped it numerous times.
Another good review of a versatile product. I have a question about the clip. I like to wear a baseball cap. Is the clip reversible so that it could be worn on the cap bill?
Nice review, Mark! That sounds like a really nice little flashlight! I like all of the options you get with it - batteries, tail caps, bezel operation - it just seems like a really versatile little pocket flashlight. One question - does it have a memory of which level you last used, or do you have to cycle through the levels to get back to where you last were?
G'day Mark, Lumintop seem to be grossly underrated, not sure why, or perhaps I'm reading it wrong. In any case, a fine little unit, shame about the drain from the LED, they'd do well to leave that out altogether. Does it actually do anything, except indicate there is a battery with some charge inside ? I reckon the magnetic tail cap together with the diffuser makes for a very valuable feature and cant say I've ever seen a choice of tailcap before. I'm pretty sure the Lion that came with it is in a fact a 14500, most of mine are around that 800-900 mAh rating. I do have a 1600 mAh job, but didnt know they went as high as 2300 these days, so thanks for pointing that out mate. All in all, I reckon this unit will suit a lotta folks ...... and without breaking the bank Cheers Duke.
Hi Duke. I think it is all about advertising. The big companies have spent a great deal getting their name out their. Lots of great values to be had but I feel people are nervous to try them if they don't find good reviews on them. I hope to help a bit with that. Thanks for commenting
@@MarkYoungBushcraft Yep for sure Mark, I did think they were more well known, though we don't always get the full picture "down under". And yes I rely on your good self and a couple of other reputable, and indeed likeable, reviewers ..... a lot. Yes we have the camping chain stores where I am, but the specialists in various outdoor categories are, in the main, interstate, dunno what that's about, but my point is; I cant walk in to a local torch or knife specialist store for example. So a trustworthy review, good, bad or in between is extremely valuable ........ and I expect many are in the same boat.
Thanks you for your lamp test, and hello to you and all Americans. I love your country, which even if it is not perfect (what country really is?) keeps values like patriotism, freedom of expression, the right to defend one's family, and at home criminals go to prison (and really stay there unlike here). It’s a great lil light

I've purchased this flashlight. As EDC, it's a perfect choice. I'd to clarify, is there an indication of low battery (Li-Ion)? Thanks in advance.
Not as far as I know. The 14500 batteries show when they are charging but there is no low-battery status light. Thanks for commenting
@@MarkYoungBushcraft Thanks for reply. Have a nice day!
Nice review! What is the LED's temperature? It seems like neutral white.
It is a CREE XP-L HD LED but the literature does not state which version. Appears to be neutral white as you say. Thanks for commenting
Budget Friendly 4 Sure, Great Lil Performer & Thanks For Your Demo Mark ! Have A Great Weekend Friend ! ATB T God Bless

Yes. The clip can be reversed so that it can be clipped to a cap. Mark missed that point in his review.
Yes, you can mount the clip and light to a hat. Thanks for commenting

You do have to cycle through the levels. That may be the only thing I would like to see changed. Thanks for commenting
I have the cree version and mine "remembers", one reason i like it over my olight i5R
