This is an incredibly biased review! Shame on you MedcorpLLC.
As someone who has used and sold both systems I can tell you that there are benefits to both systems. At the end of the day it depends on what you are looking for. Do you want superior image quality, do you want to be able to move the probe from your phone to your tablet, do you want a long scan time, do you want a 5 year warranty on your probe, do you want to be able to swap it from one operating system to another when you update your device, do you want the benefits of a secure video collaboration for telehealth app? Or, do you want a built in system that has two probes on it. Do you want the ability to access a number of Apps? I would think about why you want a hand held device in the first place.
Also, to clarify a couple of points.
    1. The set of the Lumify is a one time process. Once you have downloaded the app it will take you approximately 60 seconds to get the system set up and ready to go.
    2. The Lumify starts instantaneously. The only thing you need to do before you start scanning is choose your preset. If you are scanning the same present as a previous study then the only button you press is scan.
    3. The Vscan extend takes time to power up. It will start up in the last used present however if this is not the preset you want then you have to press a number of buttons to get to the right preset. It can be frustrating to start scanning and realize you are in the wrong preset.
    4. The Lumify comes with a USB and a USB-C cable so it will connect to any approved Android device. The List of approved devices is available on the Philips website and updated as new systems are released onto the market.
    5. You can only use one of the Vscan heads at a time.
    6. With the Lumify the Picture will change depending on the device you plug it into. However, even with the smallest of Android devices you will be able to open the picture to cover the whole screen.
    7. Im not sure if the available apps on the Vscan Extend do not make the scanning process any more efficient? There are 4 apps. The Lung Protocol (a bit of a gimic?), a bladder app, Tricefy, and the Ejection Fraction app. Triecfy requires a subscription and the EF app is a purchasable option.
    8. The Lumify has Reacts (a a secure video collaboration, telehealth, telepresence app) built into the system . Reacts also requires a subscription.
At the end of the day, both systems will add value. However, the clear winner should be the system that addresses your needs.

Sounded a bit biast. First time boot for the Lumify, there is a short registration process, but on second launch the App starts automatically when you plug-in the transducer. Second, currently 1 transducer, comes with one Type B and one Type C cable, so no need for adapters of any sort. From usability having the dual scan head may be faster, but if your main focus is Abdominal, than the Lummify wins as it has a dedicated Convex transducer. Having the abbility to choose a tablet/smartphone form and size is very nice.

Emanuil, thank you for your feedback! Everything you said is 100% true IF you are purchasing the Lumify probes new from Philips. When we buy and sell used and refurbished Lumify probes, they don't always come with the Type B and Type C cable, it's usually one or the other. We also tried to use the Lumify on different Samsung tablets and smartphones, all of which are compatible, and they would only function on the phone seen in the video. So given our experience, we still think the GE VScan Extend with the Dual Probe is the way to go. Thank you again for your input and please keep watching our videos :)

When you are using lumify with a high-end Smartphone as display, the B-mode ultrasound quality is tremendous. You can differentiate even small variations in the intestine in abdominal sonograms. Vscan really can’t to this quality.

Lumify has a much, much, much better image, we cant compare...If Vscan is dedicated should have a better image, and it doesnt. Also, Lumify Systems you can use tablet or cell for other function, Vscan is only for that. And the cable, when you buy, it cames 2 types.

Definitely biased review. Overall I am leaning towards VScan because it fulfills my work as an EM physician, is good enough for a portable solution and costs a fraction of the price of Lumify. Lumify does have better image quality, a solid user interface, can be put on to much larger screens (such as Galaxy 8 tablets) and has a great app.
