Sonic Frontiers - All Islands Battle Rush (S-Rank)

- The four islands’ Battle Rushes have been completed with an S-Rank in all of them, so the game throws one more challenge at you: the All Islands Battle Rush. This one takes you through every round of those four challenges, one after another. It is quite a marathon, and I had to set aside a whole evening to trying this until I got it.
S-Rank Time: 30 minutes
If you need a reminder, the Battle Rush S-Rank times are 5 minutes for Kronos Island, 9 minutes 30 seconds for Ares Island, 7 minutes 30 seconds for Chaos Island, and 7 minutes 55 seconds for Ouranos Island. That makes for a total of 29 minutes 55 seconds, so technically, the All Islands Battle Rush gives you a full…5 seconds of extra leeway. That being said, I did learn how to do some of these rounds faster, and finishing ahead of time than usual gives you extra time for other rounds. Accordingly, you’ll see that I was able to finish Kronos Island’s rounds way faster than the S-Rank wanted out of me, which allowed me to stay ahead despite taking longer than usual against the battle against the Knight, putting me out of an S-Rank if I had played the Chaos Island set by itself. (You can tell because there are two timers at the top: one for overall for this run, and another specific to the island you’re on.)
As I don’t have the description space (or the time) to describe all 40 of the rounds in this one, I’ll just put up a list of timestamps so UA-cam can allow you to skip to whichever rounds you want.

I didn't know you could parry Knight's hand-slam (the one that makes the grind rails you use to climb it). As many have found out the hard way in the DLC boss rush, that's an instant kill if it hits, so going for the parry there, when you need to time it, probably isn't worth the risk.
I had no idea either…I must have done so by accident. I was intending to parry the spikes on the ground when Knight slides around.
Yeesh that's a beefy challenge. I've said as much before but some of these fights are way too long, especially for a Sonic game. Surprised they didn't even put the final boss in this one, even if that would inflate the time more. Can't imagine how annoying it would be to restart if you didn't get the S rank.
Extreme difficulty sounds tedious. You made a game all about leveling up stats and now suddenly you won't be able to do that? I can't imagine how long some fights would take on that difficulty.
Not only that, but on Extreme difficulty, any hit will kill Sonic. You will have to do all of them flawlessly.
My guess as to why they excluded the final boss is because you can battle them only on Hard difficulty. That, and it takes so much longer than any other boss, and it's so much harder to beat than the others (especially if one is like me and doesn't have much experience with shmups). It took me enough tries that the game increased my life count from 3, then to 4, then to 5.
Unless you mean the version found in The Final Horizon, in which case Battle Rush was added to the game before The Final Horizon.
It's too bad that the new the end fight isn't included in the boss rush.
Of course, The Final Horizon was released after the boss rush. I don’t know if it’s a good idea to put it there though, considering its far higher difficulty.
