    The instruction was very good from everyone. I loved talk on exit points. If the distance is correct you don't need anything else. However if the distance changes faster than you react, you continue to a place where you can counter. Very Cool 😎

    It is funny to see all the comments that are bashin akban. I know for a fact that bujinkan works in a street fight but it is not this graceful and fluid as this rehearsals. Ppl seem to think that all movments are like this even in a fight. This is katas to teach your body and muscles to adapt and react when you are attacked. But each to his own i guess.

    Instead grabbing the opposit shoulder, There's an opportunity to go for a Seoi nage in the takken sleeve or for a Ganseki nage by blocking the incoming punch and clinching the arm.

    Thank you for another wonderful example of Martial ARTS. I am sorry our friend Jack Frost doesn't appreciate the subtle intricacies of an anthropologically rich history that goes far beyond the common confrontation on the street.
    Application and understanding of maai, kuzushi, and tai sabaki are sometimes overlooked by the simple "effectiveness" of a technique. These movements cultivate a sensibility and sensitivity beyond the physical touch.

      Moto Chimp Ninjutsu is not a martial arts ninjutsu the art of war and espionage. Hollywood has made it into a martial art . so if you see a school or tournaments of ninja its a fake. if you notice there way of train here its like any other system of fighting . if you want to be a modern ninja join the ,CIA,FBI,MI5,MI6 ,

    Kata is the study of the own body and those of the others, both in a neurological and physica way. It's a collection of exercises, you can linger on the details.It's clear that practicing katas it is not the totality of the training. I do not expect to become a war machine by practicing martial arts, or I would have chosen other paths in my life. For me the important thing about practicing ju-jitsu (my m.a.) is not only the effectiveness of the technique, but the impression that a certain path leaves me in. It is not a coincidence that a great master of judo, Moshe Feldenkrais, has developed a method of improving the psycho-physical body awareness. That's my opinion

    11:40 AHA!!! The wearing of the gi never made sense to me. No one wears thick clothes like that (usually) Im used to trying to pressure point sensitive bones. I never though to grab the whole neck to shoulder muscle. I tested it on myself and it really hurts and you can latch onto it and pull. I can see how a master of eagle claw could easily detatch your muscle with 1 pull.

    The vidio is showing how to initiate a complete technique-the instructors are breaking it down step by step-this could be executed after one strike also-stopping the first blow-pulling opponent off balance and grab/sweep on the same side-they did not show the forearm to side of throat as they did the sweep-my opinion is that a viewer should use this and other akban vidios as a training tool-take what works for you and add to your tool box-you will notice that the coll. was a research of older katas that can be used in todays world-

    I hope they are no losers on here trying to mimic the moves by pausing it every second and air mimicing then thinking itll work in a fight. Their is still a lot of work you have to do a word of advice martial arts is 10% technique 90% ipmrovision so by watching this video and copying it step by step you are have really done any learning yet you still have to
    Step 1: Learn the technique.
    Step 2: Partner practice.
    Step 3: If the technique is too hard modify it so it is easier to execute yet still as effective.
    Step 4: do research or find an instructor willing to practice and help improve your moves evan more, or join a school and spar with the right students.
    Step 5: with your new knowlage improve your moves, make them more effective and practical.
    Step 6: its best to do the same things with multiple martial arts than just one.
    Step 7: mix all your knowlage, practical techniques and ways you found of using them in one.
    Step 8: repeat steps 4 and 5
    Step 9: Simulate a real fight. Join a fight tournament or spar as if you are fighting FOR REAL. Do the same with people who dont know martial arts or somone who does a different martial art so you can find a general way of using your techniques.
    Step 10: put it to a series of ultimate tests. that dosnt mean fighting yet but if you want to go ahead. Im taking about tournaments and sparring as If your in a real fight, these are great tests. if it fails more than prevails repeat steps 4-9.
    Step 12: if it prevails more than it fails by at least 2 this time you've done it. You've made your own martial art that nobody else knows of this makes you more unpredictable and better than somone who just knows one martial art.
    Step 13: master it
    Step 14: repeat seps 1-13 with different martial arts for as long as you wish.
    This is how bruce lee made jeet kwon do which is his created martial art. And is what alot of other martial artist do. This is your guidline follow it. STEPS 1-13 IS A 2-5 YEAR PROCESS. do with this as you will.

    I've never really understood ninjitsu. It looks pretty cool, even when slowed down to teach but, it seems like the head is completely unguarded. Most of the videos I have seen from this group have looked very choreographed. As far as a combative fighting style, I'd say ninjitsu is far behind all other martial arts.

    • @beepot2764
      @beepot2764 8 років тому +1

      +Byron Wong I completely agree. I mean good for your associate for finding a hobby and exercising, but me personally I wouldn't waste my time learning an "art" like ninjitsu. I especially would not call any form of ninjitsu, that I have seen, good for self defense.

    • @ksoon90
      @ksoon90 8 років тому

      True that most part of the Ninjutsu nowadays is more like a show than of fighting like krav maga, mma etc. They've deliberately taken out most of the practical parts and make it "fancy". But still, like any martial arts, there will be those that will taught impractical. Just that it seems "traditional arts" are more prone to it

    I love the traditional arts, I practice them myself but it confuses me when I see the attacker punching like this, with poor intent and and in no way resembling a real punch that will be thrown in a real fight. It's such a pity for when people watch these video's they believe all the traditional arts have little value for real life fighting. There are alot of great teachers with practical experience who know how to blend the art with functional combative techniques. My Sensei being one of them : )

  • @beepot2764
    @beepot2764 8 років тому

    Also why so much focus on grabbing the gi? Unlike judo, bjj, and karate ninjitsu is not a combat sport. So, if your learning this as self defense why bother focusing on learning grabs relying on clothing to latch on to? I mean what if your attacker is wear a t shirt or tank top or is shirtless? Idk just seems fake.

    Not realistic. I have multiple blackbelts in TKD, Hapkido, Combat JuJitsu and FMA, but this beyond my understanding...

    • @JohnnyThompsonSEO
      @JohnnyThompsonSEO 8 років тому

      Hippy(Bboomer) Not knocking another persons training or system, just saying doesn't look realistic. It wouldn't fly in my school. We just seek truth in combat. I also studied Jeet Kune Do for about 10 plus years and teach in Asia. I understand a lot of people get hung up on the traditional way of training, but sometimes forget the combat, realistic, aspects. I see this in 90% of the arts out there. I DO understand its a phase of learning basics...to each his own. I wont be the one who is there for you when the sh*t hits the fan, you have to fight for yourself. Only the individual can make up their mind how they want to train. I think Ninjitsu is an awesome art and I love its history, folklore and legends. Maybe some of the Masters teach a watered down version to foreigners, just like the Okinawans did to the American GI's all those years in the early days of KaraTe, that was taught in the 30's to the 60's.

      Alot of traditional styles seem to punch like this in Kata. I don't understand it either, when I was younger I did Traditional Taekwondo and they did it too. People don't punch like that in real life. It would make more sense to evolve it and try to make it work as people punch in real life. But I beleive in Akban Ninjutsu I've watched their channel for some time now and I beleive most of the stuff is really good and they are doing a good job of finding what works and what doesn't with regular pressure testing and sparring. So I have no doubt they will continue to evolve in the future.

    Kata is stupid. In real fights, people do _not_ step in to you and throw a punch (not even aimed at your head) and then wait for you to react. Most fights are some dude doing a few windmill-punches and then trying to tackle you. Styles of martial arts like this are obsolete and do not work in the real world.
    This took place in Tel Aviv, you should have just went to a class on Krav Maga, which is far superior and teaches a person how to defend themselves in the real world.

      AKBAN Although I don't agree with Jack Frost there, it seems martial arts practitioners and teachers really should adapt according to an opponent who has basic boxing experience. Tsukis aren't practical, techniques and practices should be adjusted against, jabs, crosses, body shots, uppercuts, hooks, rapid knife attacks, baseball bats (although a staff or bokken is pretty much interchangeable). People seem to forget that modern combat sports like boxing kick boxing are modern martial arts in themselves, to keep effectiveness one must adjust.

    • @dabash00r
      @dabash00r 10 років тому

      Jack Frost I am sorry to say, but i don't think you'll fully understand what this is about. This is not a realistic fight. Everyone knows that. We don't have to argue about if you would get attacked like this in a real fight. You wouldn't.
      The point here is showing and train systems like the shoulder pull and what the natural reactions to this are: The attacker tries to get his upper body back up. You can use this movement, to bring down an enemy stronger and larger than yourself. And remember: Ninjutsu is far more subtile than KM.

    • @victorribeiro2431

      Brother... Krav Magá is a post 40's M.A.(Some specialist don't even consider Krav-Magá a M.A. but an S.D. program) and Ninjutsu is far XV century beyond... And Well, kata is a form to train how to react when this kind of situation comes real, and well, you gonna know how to react. Peace and keep studing and trainning.

    • @ineinerbank
      @ineinerbank 10 років тому

      this is not realistic fighting, this is showing a clean technique and principle. bags in boxing gyms don't hit back either. once you learned the kata, you perform it with resistance, and if you are able to pull of the technique cleanly, you can move on to randori and apply it in sparring.
