I dont know how mine is still alive it's taken several falls from my hand or car door one time was screen first onto the edge of a rock cliff. I had a screen protector that kept it from scratching on the rocks but I'm still surprised it didnt even crack.
I accidentally dropped my Note last month and got a crack at the back, but barely visible.
I sat in the hot tub for 15 minutes before noticing it was in my pocket, still use it 2 years later 😀

I would love to see a dual shooter with one gigantic sensor ultra high res super wide angle that gets cropped to 12mp center for "normal" shots, and one long range that is like 3x zoom at 12mp that will allow 5x zoom at 4k with no oversampling.

@@mataskart9894 I switched from mi 9t to galaxy a71 (same price segment) so that tells how much i care for cutout. That pop up camera feels like a toy with led bleeding in dark. It also makes phones heavier and thicker.
@@filippetrovic845 It doesn't make the phone any heavier, it just takes up space that could be used for the battery, which would be even heavier if it did, but you would get a few more minutes out of it... But I NEVER use the front camera, I would def buy a phone without a front camera any day if it came out at the ~600 euro price range, but the pop up thing that hides it also works, since I don't have an ugly black cut out or a notch on my screen, and get to use it once in a year if I really need to, so durability also ain't a factor, also there's the security factor- you can't be watched through the camera if it's a pop-up, though I personally don't care about that, some people may. And it doesn't affect the phone's waterproof-ness, since The OnePlus 7 Pro was submerged for a few hours without any problems, even if OnePlus don't pay for the resistance rating... And I'm not planning to go ocean diving with my phone, so that's good enough for me, if it can survive a little rain for an hour or sweat that's plenty...
So yeah, aside from more effort needed to implement it(and thus higher cost), I don't see a negative side to it....
@@mataskart9894 I barely use front camera too. It worth mentioning that average hole punch is about half the area of average teardrop notch, so its the best thing after pop up. I used the phones i had as a reference as mi 9t is significantly heavier and thicker device with less screen area and smaller battery compared to a71. Just if you are interested in glass vs plastic: Plastic on back of a71 is much more scratch resistant than gorilla glass 5 on the back of mi 9t.

A lot of people are picking on Linus for talking about the headphone jack when he clearly explained his reasoning in the video.
It's not about usability but it's more about what the note series stands for
"An enthusiast's phone that contains reasonably good enthusiasts' features and looks good while doing it".
A light ROG phone with a pen, no RGB, and an expansion slot is what the note 10 should've been like.
Also, The note 10+ makes the idea of the note series redundant.

It's kind of usability though too. To be honest, I won't buy a phone without a headphone jack ever again. It's a feature that is a must have for me. I didn't think it was that big of a deal until i had to live with it gone. Using a Type C dongle is fine...I guess. It's just that extra thing I have to carry around literally always in case I end up wanting to use my headphones. Especially when my travel is by bus, and most of the time I'm traveling I'm solo.

Is it just me who finds the pen stupid? Like if you want drawing capability market an accessory which uses a bendy / rollup oled screen + pen.
Like if you're going to copy apple on their shit headphones philosophy i.e. remove the jack so people *must* buy accessories (dongles for days).
Why wouldnt you go the whole way and accessorize an additional display / drawing surface? That also gets round having such a stupid "fold" design in a phone and justifies investment in flexible screens.

@@marble_wraith You realized that you said why on a smaller one than the bigger one. Implying the bigger one is necessary for the pen (keep the pen). The smaller one has it cause it's a note line? Plus those who want the note experience on a smaller screen.
Even on a smaller screen it's still pretty nifty aside from air actions. Magnify, Glance, remote camera controls, haptic feedback from I'll m the pen is roughly the same as the note 8 but you could do some good pictures. Before you say you can do pictures on a larger screen, yes, yes you can. That doesn't refute that you could draw on a smaller screen and actually hold the regular note while doing so.

samsung made jokes about other brands ditching the audio jack and now they do it themselves. with their most expensive, "jack of all trades" device with a loyal (built over the last 8 years) fanbase. oh the irony.
they should have postponed the release at least for another year for this one and put some more research in it. it feels like a reheated meal from yesterday; bloated up and coated in fancy dressing, but missing the bite and core flavours the 9 had. the Note was always about getting "more", but ditching the jack, limiting the storage und use a cheap punchout just feels backwards and „less“.
now we just get more models, not more specs.

Kemal Demir sad but true. I had an iPhone 8 years ago, before i bought my first Note. But I still own an iPad & iPod because of the really awesome sound quality, battery life and easy OS. Switching back to the iPhone wouldn’t be that hard, to be honest.

To anyone complaining about the headphone jack: you guys are the same people that want a massive foldable screen but make fun of it for a few broken review units. Samsung innovated in almost every way on this phone, and you guys are reduced to saying the speakers are slightly worse, there is a hole punch, and no headphone jack. Hole punch: just make it a giant forehead. Easy. Pop up cameras need to be tested first. That's why it's on a budget phone. It's a tiny little thing. Every other manufacturer has a notch, forehead, or an untested solution of a motorized camera. Cludgy solution that will never be used 2 years from now. Speakers: get over it. They are still great speakers. Find better ones on a wide selling premium phone. And the headphone jack. They had to remove it at some point. This isnt some no trade deal, you get stuff in return. But eventually you will need to get over it. At some point in your life, you have to move onto better tech. Theres a reason we dont use vhs tapes.

I'm still on my Note 9 I just got it May 2019 could of went with the S10 Plus but the Note line will always be my favorite phone. Will upgrade to the Note 11 Plus.

Real-time gaming could be a good idea in some cases, such as VR, but you'd need quite overpowered hardware.
I had the S series up to the 9 and now have the Note 10+ and I love it. I miss the headphone jack (though I like how thin the phone is), the hole punch takes some getting used to, and the fingerprint scanner sucks, but everything else is amazing to me.
The screen is gorgeous and it's my favorite device to watch videos on (it doesn't have that weird orange tint the S series always has). The UI is silky smooth, multitasking/picture in picture is a breeze, the battery is a powerhouse, the camera is beautiful, and the S pen is fun to use (even if pretty useless)

I heard from a friend who bought Note 10+ that battery life suck, maybe a one day battery life if not worse. S10+ easily lasts for 2 day of normal use. Its not about the size, but the demanding components it runs.
I still miss the fm transmitter and ir blaster, but the 3.5mm jack is the last straw. Im actually mad.
I felt the same way honestly when it was gone, but having the actual phone, I don't really miss it as much as I did before, and I use my headphones almost 3-5 hours every day. Mornings, nights, in the middle of the day, etc.
Removable battery. IR blaster. FM Transmitter. Headphone Jack. SD card slot
(They removed it from the smaller Note 10. You know they'll be removing it from the S11 series.)
All reasons I chose Samsung over Apple. I don't care about the software half as much as the hardware.
And now they're all doing pretty much the exact same thing, with minor differences.
@@cjxgraphics Still is pretty good though. Screen is still extremely beautiful. 3040x1440, accurate colors, and the dot doesn't seem to get in the way much, though I do understand. Though removable battery? Idk. They stopped doing that a pretty long time ago. To become more streamlined and function much better, not having a removable battery is actually an improvement. Headphone jack? As much as I miss it, it hasn't bothered me much. The usb C headphones work pretty well, and i rarely ever get to the point of my phone dying, so I rarely ever have to charge and listen to music at the same time.
Watching on my redmi note 7 that only costed £160, it has all 3 of these things and an sd card slot

Reminds me of the disappointment I felt when the HTC One phone series stopped innovating.
Same M8 was the last one I had. Had it until the battery went kaput so... 2ish years.
@@danielkoontz6732 yeah for a while there the HTC One series was winning all kinds of phone of the year awards with the critics but just didn't beat Samsung in the market for some reason so the company just couldn't keep up in the end. They had all their money in the gamble on their flagship phone. Too bad really...
Still rocking a HTC 10 which still runs smooooooooth af! Also an M9 on LineageOS 16 which is faster than both my 10 and S9 plus, imagine.
Actually I am really like samsung and what they doing but I felt disappointed as well when they released the Note 10s, because it's their "10th" Note phone. But maybe, maybe they will pack the Note 11 with great features such as a high refresh rate screen with under the screen camera... I am hope that they will do something big for their 10th anniversary Note

The email issue, if it hasn't been mentioned yet, most likely occured from you putting the phone in battery saver mode. I learned that the hard way when I kept missing email because the phone won't let Gmail refresh in the background

@@raresmacovei8382 my s9 is shit with the snapdragon for some reason gets hot when starting up or launching the camera. I had a galaxy j with the exynos and it was much smoother and cooler. I also have a snapdragon LG Stylo and it runs super smooth and no overheating, almost never gets hot I loved it.
@@rdmz135 I've had a budget snapdragon 410 LG Stylo and it was smooth and cool, no overheating and minimal lag when starting up. I also have the visible ZTE r2 with the snapdragon 425 and that phone too is super smooth, doesn't get hot as fuck after booting up with minimal lag. Idk maybe I just have a bad s9. It's real of course Verizon doesn't sell fakes.
Also let’s not forget about the removal of the pulse oximeter sensor. I know that to a lot of people it’s not a big deal, but I use the one on my Note 9 all the time to measure my blood oxygen level after waking up (I have sleep apnea).
Regardless of functionality, it makes no sense to me that the S10 and S10 Plus have the headphone jack, expandable storage on both models AND the pulse oximeter, but the NOTE doesn’t.
The Note 10 is just a major fuck up and not worth the nearly or over 1000$
S10 is better choice and economical, you'll not need to upgrade for few years

Watching this wayyy late, on my Note 9. Somehow the Note 10 kinda flew under my radar, but clearly I wasn't missing much.
My Note 9 is still an amazing phone, best one I've ever had. Almost 2 years later I still marvel at it's design and how it really can do everything I want and need in a phone. Hoping it lasts me years longer

I think arguably time became ready more so than they would have in the last couple of years because Apple started the change in the industry standard and pushed more headphone manufacturers to make more and better wireless headphones due to increased demand. This move is just as bad then as it is now, it's removing a convenient feature without adding anything super important that necessitated the change.

I got the note 10+ as my first samsung phone. I absolutely love it. I've had a couple phone without a headphone jack already. It does come with a decent pair of usb C headphones though
Would love to see you do the note 10 Lite ( it has a headphone jack again! ) Maybe on ShortCircuit. Seems like a good choice especially for the price. You may have to get an import model as it is not sold in all regions.

But they gave you a USB type C set of headphones in the box that replace the need for a headphone Jack. With the increased battery life you just use those because you dont have to charge your phone near as much. At least on the Note 10+

U can actually adjust the animation speed. So it makes everything seem snappier , i did it on my note 8 you just click 5 times on the build number under settings and about phone. It will unlock A developer setting and allow u to make changes to the device

The Note10(+) also doesn't has a DAC, so you have to buy an active USB-C to headphone adapter and the "normal" ones doesn't work ...

Would have been nix if they would have integrated the headphone jack at least in the hole for the pen if really needed. Of course you must carry that S pen then extra but you would have the option to use an AUX cable.

At least when I do that in my Huawei P30 (non-Pro), it brings every screen content down BUT the signal, notifications, and time, making GOOD USE of that blackened screen while hiding its notch!

I won't settle for a phone that does things "reasonably competently". I paid good money for my Note10+ that surpasses those expectations. Linus is sounding like the elders at the retirement center gripping their flip phones that "work just fine". He doesn't want the best... I do, and I love my Note10+.
He is saying that the phone isn't a no compromise device, like the note 9 was, but it is a good device.

My dad has been using his Note 5 since launch, and it still runs amazingly well. I’m not sure he’ll ever upgrade... but then again, I don’t really blame him.

@@adamgraham6265 I have the Note 10+ 5G and its a wicked handset. I haven't had the opportunity to try out the 5G yet but when it gets launched properly in London it will be worth the extra cost. At the moment it's a bit of a waste. I'd say only go 5G if you can afford to do so.
