    0:00 intro
0:23 - Uninformed history lessons with Will ;D
1:13 - What does vocodex do to a sound (e.g. saw wave)
    - Controling the band distribution
    - band-width (3:01): Overlap or distance of the bands
    - band-width multiplier (4:24): Changing the dynamics of the frequencies (contrast between peeks)
    - modular pitch shift (5:13): Control the formant of a vowel sound
    6:29 - Running a vocal through vocodex
    - Make any sound (e.g. saw wave) sound like it's speaking using a vocal (Ghosthack Ultimate Vocal Library 2) as a modulator
    - muting the vocal and only sending a side-chain signal to vocodex
8:55 - Finding the perfect settings to fit the specific vocal
    - changing the order: Controling the depth of the effect of the vocoder
    - band-gain multiplier (9:28): Control the frequency spectrum output and delete annoying parts
    - playing a melody with the detuned saw (9:44) and modular pitch shift
    - making a happy robotic singing with chord stacks (11:21)
    - Add chorus to the vocal - comparable to unison (12:53)
13:40 - layering a vocoded vocal over a clean vocal to create depth

How do you use Vocodex, or other vocoders? Mainly for nasty basses and vocals or do you find other applications?

Google is telling me the first Vocoder was made in 1928 (1936? Seems the dates I got told are different in different places) at Bell Labs by Homer Dudley~
Ah, it says it was first shown at the World's Fair in 1939~

Thank you so much. I just started making different kinds of music outside hip hop beats and I wanted to add some vocals but not my own. This is a great compromise and I can get some real cool sound.
