Good evening! I will begin by saying that I was truly pleased to hear such beautiful melodies, arrangements, and sheer joy in your voices, recording, and performance. You all are truly blessed and talented to have such skill, and to use those skills for the glory and honor of God, our King. However, I must respectfully say that I was disappointed to see the performance is incomplete, for it leaves out the last five verses of Psalm 139. While I acknowledge that these verses are truly a tonal shift - David shifting from joy, reflection, and profound happiness, to sheer vitriol for his enemies and disdain for those who disobey God - they nonetheless are written as part of the same Psalm, and therefore is meant to not be obscured or ignored. And while I wholeheartedly understand why this may have been done (so as not to agitate or push away those who discover your music and may not be saved by faith in Jesus yet), I am still nonetheless disappointed that this is called "Psalm 139" while remaining incomplete for the sake of not scaring away a potential audience; rather than perform the Psalm as written for the glory of the God who breathed the Psalm in its entirety. ** For those who wonder what the passage says and may not have a Bible with you, this is what it reads (I've written it in four translations - first is KJV, then second is ESV, third is CSB, and fourth is NIV) ** 1. Psalm 139:19-24 (KJV) - "Surely thou wilt slay the wicked, O God: depart from me therefore, ye bloody men. For they speak against thee wickedly, and thine enemies take thy name in vain. Do not I hate them, O Lord, that hate thee? and am not I grieved with those that rise up against thee? I hate them with perfect hatred: I count them mine enemies. Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting." 2. Psalm 139:19-24 (ESV) - "Oh that you would slay the wicked, O God! O men of blood, depart from me! They speak against You with malicious intent; Your enemies take Your name in vain. Do I not hate those who hate You, O Lord? And do I not loathe those who rise up against You? I hate them with complete hatred; I count them my enemies. Search me, O God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts! And see if there be any grievous way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting!" 3. Psalm 139:19-24 (CSB) - "God, if only You would kill the wicked - you bloodthirsty men, stay away from me - who invoke You deceitfully. Your enemies swear by You falsely. Lord, don’t I hate those who hate You, and detest those who rebel against You? I hate them with extreme hatred; I consider them my enemies. Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my concerns. See if there is any offensive way in me; lead me in the everlasting way." 4. Psalm 139:19-24 (NIV) - "If only you, God, would slay the wicked! Away from me, you who are bloodthirsty! They speak of You with evil intent; Your adversaries misuse Your name. Do I not hate those who hate You, Lord, and abhor those who are in rebellion against You? I have nothing but hatred for them; I count them my enemies. Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting." My prayers are with you all, and may His peace be upon you. - Sincerely, a loving brother.

In my denomination's Bible study class we're going through the Psalms and this is one of several we're looking at this week. Great musical version. Apparently there were musical notes alongside the Psalms in the oldest copies of Bible passages. The notation system has been lost to history of course. Lyrics: Oh Lord, you have searched me And you know me You know when I sit and when I rise You perceive my thoughts from afar You discern my going out and my lying down You are familiar with all my ways . Before a word is on my tongue You, Lord, know it completely . You hem me in behind and before And you lay your hand upon me Such knowledge Lord, is too wonderful for me Too lofty for me to attain . Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence Lord? . If I go up to the heavens, you are there If I make my bed in the depths, you are there If I rise on the wings of the dawn If I settle on the far side of the sea Even there your hand will guide me . Your right hand will hold me fast If I say, "Surely the darkness will hide me And the light become night around me" Oh Lord Even the darkness will not be dark to you The night will shine like the day For darkness is as light . For you created my inmost being You knit me together in my mother's womb Oh and I praise you because I Am fearfully and wonderfully made Your works are wonderful I know that full well . If I go up to the heavens, you are there If I make my bed in the depths, you are there If I rise on the wings of the dawn If I settle on the far side of the sea Even there your hand will guide me . My frame was not hidden from you Lord When I was made in that secret place When I was woven together When I was woven together In the depths of the earth In the depths of the earth . Your eyes, they saw my unformed body All the days ordained for me Were written in your book Before one of them came to be They were ordained for me, they Were ordained for me, Yeah . How precious to me are all of your thoughts Lord! How vast is the sum of them Were I to count them They would outnumber the grains of sand The grains of the sand When I awake, Lord, When I awake Lord . I am still with you i am still with you I am still with you i am still with you
What a fantastic recording guys! It's so great to see you, if not in person. Miss you all very much and hope to see you again soon! Love from Texas and the Henderson Clan!

That is a very interesting album cover this song is on, can anyone explain what it means or represents, or what is depicted? I'm intrigued and need to know. Thank you!
Hi there. This is a piece of art from a good friend of the band Rene Inei. He is based in our home town of Geelong Victoria Australia. The title for the work is Over Me with the projection of a cloudy sky. It's part of a greater body of work in the same series. Trust this helps.
This is now one of my favourite videos. I am thankful to God for UA-cam's algorithm finding me worship bands like you guys. I've also seen great videos form the Golden Angels and Celtic Worship for any one looking for other choices.

Superb. There is so much energy in the performance and the arrangement captures the passion of the Psalm. The Sons of Korah have outdone themselves on this one!
I love this rendition of the psalm, but what about verses 19-24? The rest of it is so uplifting, I guess they didn't really fit with the tone? It does seem to take a turn there for sure.
Hey Eric. We'd love too. Just not sure when at this stage. Eric have you checked out our App yet? You can download it for free from your App store. Search Sons of Korah. How is this recording different than the Rain Psalm 139 recording? Is this part of the new album with new renditions of older songs? When will the new album be released?
Hi Josie. This is Psalm 139, the same as the version of Rain, but a different recording and a video. All our videos and the new songs for our new album are available in our App. If you haven't checked out our App yet you can download it for free from your App store. Search Sons of Korah. As a Guest (FREE) you get access to some of our material, or you could consider supporting our ministry with a small in-app subscription and get access to everything right away. We've already released 8 of the new tracks in our app for subscribers. The new album wont be released outside of the App until it is completed. They are all NEW Psalms. We still have 2 Psalms to record for the Man of Sorrows album so I'd suggest the first half of 2023 before we release the whole album outside of our App. Blessings.
Hey Josie. Yes, once we have completed the full album - sometime next year - we'll release 2 or 3 tracks to Spotify and Apple Music. Thanks for your support.
Hi there. Thanks for your interest and what a great question. The name “Sons of Korah” comes from a group of Old Testament Levitical musicians to whom at least 13 of the Psalms are attributed. The original Sons of Korah were responsible for the ministry of music and song in the Old Testament worship and particularly with the musical composition and performance of the psalms. What follows is the remarkable story of this family according to the brief records of the Bible. The Story of the Sons of Korah is a wonderful story of God’s grace. In the Old Testament text of the Psalms reference is made to those who were involved in the composition of the psalms. Psalms 42 to 49 as well as Psalms 84 to 88 are attributed to a group known as the “Sons of Korah” (see the small print titles under the numbers of the psalms). It appears that this family of musicians were descendants of the same Korah who led a rebellion against Moses in the desert (Numbers 16). This was a serious crime that led to serious consequences for all those involved. We read that God caused the ground to open up and swallow all those who were involved in the rebellion along with their families (vs31ff). The idea of a judgement like this that involved the wiping out of the rebels as well as their families was that the line of the rebellious should not continue in the earth. It is therefore quite surprising that in Numbers 26:11 we read the words: “The line of Korah, however, did not die out.” And sure enough as we follow the genealogies through Chronicles we see that that the line of Korah did indeed continue. According to 1 Chronicles 6:31ff, David, when he was organising the different tasks for the temple worship, assigned the ministry of song for a large part to the Kohathites. The head of this group was Heman who is the writer of Psalm 88 and more significantly is a direct descendant of Korah the Kohathite. Hence the psalm is also attributed to the Sons of Korah. It seems that at some point this musical family came to be called after their rebellious forefather. Korah was an infamous historical figure in the Israelite consciousness, remembered as an example of rebellion against God. To be related to him would have been a notable thing, though not necessarily a negative thing. The continuing existence of this family line was a testimony to the grace of God who, although he would be right to wipe out the memory of sinful men from the earth, is nevertheless forgiving and whose heart is always for restoration and redemption rather than for destruction. The Sons of Korah were therefore a living testimony to God’s grace. They certainly had much to sing about. We feel the same way.
Can't get enough of this song, when I was going through an identity crisis, this Psalm helped me alot, when I was told my whole life, that I was not wanted, but God, he says "I am fearfully and wonderfully made"
I Love you sooo my Sweet Lord. You’ve healed me a thousand times & there will be a thousand more to come.

Come to Northern Ireland please !
Thank you soooo much. I love this Psalm. God is so good!!!
** For those who wonder what the passage says and may not have a Bible with you, this is what it reads (I've written it in four translations - first is KJV, then second is ESV, third is CSB, and fourth is NIV) **

My prayers are with you all, and may His peace be upon you.

Lyrics:
Oh Lord, you have searched me
And you know me
You know when I sit and when I rise
You perceive my thoughts from afar
You discern my going out and my lying down
You are familiar with all my ways
.
Before a word is on my tongue
You, Lord, know it completely
.
You hem me in behind and before
And you lay your hand upon me
Such knowledge Lord, is too wonderful for me
Too lofty for me to attain
.
Where can I go from your Spirit?
Where can I flee from your presence Lord?
.
If I go up to the heavens, you are there
If I make my bed in the depths, you are there
If I rise on the wings of the dawn
If I settle on the far side of the sea
Even there your hand will guide me
.
Your right hand will hold me fast
If I say, "Surely the darkness will hide me
And the light become night around me"
Oh Lord
Even the darkness will not be dark to you
The night will shine like the day
For darkness is as light
.
For you created my inmost being
You knit me together in my mother's womb
Oh and I praise you because I
Am fearfully and wonderfully made
Your works are wonderful
I know that full well
.
If I go up to the heavens, you are there
If I make my bed in the depths, you are there
If I rise on the wings of the dawn
If I settle on the far side of the sea
Even there your hand will guide me
.
My frame was not hidden from you Lord
When I was made in that secret place
When I was woven together
When I was woven together
In the depths of the earth
In the depths of the earth
.
Your eyes, they saw my unformed body
All the days ordained for me
Were written in your book
Before one of them came to be
They were ordained for me, they
Were ordained for me, Yeah
.
How precious to me are all of your thoughts
Lord! How vast is the sum of them
Were I to count them
They would outnumber the grains of sand
The grains of the sand
When I awake, Lord, When I awake Lord
.
I am still with you i am still with you
I am still with you i am still with you

You truly do a magnificent work with all those songs! I am amazed how you can incorporate those psalms to music!

@@SonsofKorah I was wondering what is the white face man or being standing over them? It looks like something I saw in a dream recently.

@@SonsofKorah Sorry I am very old fashioned. If I am going to buy some piece of music I want a physical disc. Do you sell CDs?

You guys ready to come back to Berlin?

Looks like the university of Toronto ❤❤❤❤😊😊😊
They stopped just before verses 19 to 22, I wonder why they did that? 😅 The acceptable "modern version" of the Bible gets shorter every year.....
Settle down, Sperg. They sing imprecatory Psalms as well.
Loves your songs!! Planning to visit the Philippines?
Thanks for your encouragement. Not at this stage, but who knows where the Lord leads.
@@SonsofKorah I keep on playing Ps.139. It sounds beautiful. Would love to teach ir to my churchmates

Blessings.
@@SonsofKorah Will you release any individual tracks from this new album on Spotify?
Hey Josie. Yes, once we have completed the full album - sometime next year - we'll release 2 or 3 tracks to Spotify and Apple Music. Thanks for your support.
Why Sons of Korah ???
