Sons of Korah - Isaiah 53

- We almost never diverge from the Psalms with our compositions but there was one part of the bible that we could not resist. Isaiah 53, sometimes called ‘the servant song,’ is the perfect accompaniment to the psalms.
In its haunting lyrical-oracular style it celebrates the greatest thing that God ever did. It tells of the suffering servant, the man of sorrows, who is none other than Jesus Christ, the very incarnation of the one true God. The prophet sings of the sacrifice of God’s righteous servant in an event so singular that he wonders in the same instance who could believe that such a thing could ever happen. Whereas the psalms often lament the human condition, the song of the suffering servant presents God’s answer to this predicament: God himself takes on our suffering so that we can be clothed in joy. The act of God that Isaiah 53 sings of is what accounts for every turning point in the psalms. It is why, as Psalm 103 declares, “he does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities.” It is the reason why there is any praise and rejoicing in the psalms at all. That’s why we wanted to sing this song and place it beside the saddest of the psalms, Psalm 88. It is the work of the man of sorrows, Jesus Christ, that assures that, as Psalm 126 declares, our sowing in tears will return to us a harvest of joy.

¡...YES...Indeed...!
Love Ur music. I played the Psalm 91 song to my husband 3x, as he was dying & played it again at his funeral April 2022. 💔

This is so appropriate this Passover. The Passover Lamb was Yeshua Ha Meschiah! This is His song. If you are Jewish, please listen to this song- this is from the "forbidden chapter." But it is forbidden no more. It is a sign. It is revealed!
Beautiful! I pray that this song will open the eyes of our Jewish friends to Jesus our Messiah ❣️
SHALOM every1
I will really love to add to your message.
Not to only open the eyes of the Jewish people but the whole world wide .
First to the Yahudim ( Jew), then to the Gentiles.
Praise Heavenly Father's mercy, for he wants that all should not perish but come to Him through YASHA, the "root" of Yashai ( Jesse).
The BRANCH (Yasha), unto him is the vine which shall produce much fruit.
I was reading Isaiah 53 in the Bible and singing this song at the same time so true Isaiah was trying to tell the Jews of Yeshua yet some Jews don't believe but there are now some that are turning around and believeing may Hashem bless Israel for ever as we wait for Yeshua to come back 🇮🇱 uk
This is stunning. God bless you in Yeshua's Love
How can anyone not like this production? I continue to play it over and over.
He had not been born yet, but we are healed, that is amazing!
yes, a prophecy given approx. 700 before his birth. Luke 1:30-33 “Do not be afraid, Mary; you have found favor with God. 31 You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus. 32 He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, 33 and he will reign over Jacob’s descendants forever; his kingdom will never end.”
Isaiah 53:1-6 KJV
Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed? [2] For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him. [3] He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. [4] Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. [5] But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. [6] All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
It so important Christians know this passage and others the Apostles used in their declaration of Yeshua being the Messiah, some others Are Psalms 2,16,,22,40,110,118 just to name a few. When the Gentiles are in Fulness in the same way all of Israel will be saved. Romans 11
Shalom
Thank you, I love how this band set the scriptures to music in the beautiful and impactful way as it deserves. Amazing craft. Respect🙏
Can't believe I'm only just listening to this. This is sooooooooo beautiful. Left me in tears. Praise Jesus for you guys 💜

God, indeed, is GOOD...!
The LORD'S Arm was revealed unto the apostles and all that believed and believes that JESUS CHRIST is the SON of GOD and that HE alone is able to save us from the wrath of GOD.
What beautiful picture of Jesus this is his love for us cannot be measured
*Ésaïe 53*
(Louis Segond)

❤I sing Psalm 91 over my family and dwelling place in the morning.❤
Amen, thanks Sons of Korah for another enriching song about our Father's saving grace through His only begotten Son... Now let's show our appreciation by living the life God brings to us through the spiritual rebirth we receive through the Lord Jesus Christ... As Romans chapter 12 reminds us;
"12 And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all He has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice-the kind He will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him. 2 Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect. (New Living Translation)
Amen and Amen!
Beautiful rendition of a profound passage in Scripture. Love the refrain, "Who has believed?"

One of my favorite passages. . . along with Ps 22 a perfect revelation of the Messiah. Love you guys. . . especially you, Rod.
A master piece! It corrects this vain beautified image of christ that we often been given and presents the image of a man of no outward beauty, rejected The song sets the mood of the text and fills the space with beautiful sounds that are sensitive to the narrative. The melody sets the text to flow naturally. Outstanding❤
❤Sweetly RIP Sweetly RIP Rudeboy my Valentin...sweetly ❤
💗Praise our God the Father the Lord Jesus Christ!!!

Toda raba for putting your music to this Messianic scripture. It's so refreshing to have no choreography, just lyrics to follow. Keep up the good work.
Shalom
Bravo SoK, the minimal imagery of your production has laid emphasis to this emotional proclamation of the Lord. Interesting to me that you chose imagery of refreshing water and not parched desert as a backdrop of the Suffering Servant. Surly your imagery reflects the promise of our eternal Home in Him.
Tanks for your encouragement for our ministry.
So beautiful.
❤Soo lovely Blessed ❤

😮 more of these! I was a little sad at first, I missed the original voice… but I listened to the whole thing and it really was quite stunning. Maybe next time, keep the original vocals ❤ It’s the familiarity… ❤
Hi there. Thanks for your encouragement. Not sure what you mean by the 'original voice'? We've only got this one recording of this track. Glad you enjoyed it however. Blessings.
@@SonsofKorah OH! Forgive me, I thought I was commenting on your latest upload. Psalm 130 remake. I’m not sure why it got put on the Isaiah 53 thread!
Beautiful! 💜
Thank you! 😊
Sons of Korah; very interesting name choice given the scripture & passeages about Korah, his descendants and those who followed him.
Hi there RadicallyRedeemedRebel - perfect name! Love it.
As you have said, the name “Sons of Korah” comes from a group of Old Testament Levitical musicians to whom at least 13 of the Psalms are attributed. The original Sons of Korah were responsible for the ministry of music and song in the Old Testament worship and particularly with the musical composition and performance of the psalms.
The Story of the Sons of Korah is a wonderful story of God’s grace. In the Old Testament text of the Psalms reference is made to those who were involved in the composition of the psalms. Psalms 42 to 49 as well as Psalms 84 to 88 are attributed to a group known as the “Sons of Korah” (see the small print titles under the numbers of the psalms). It appears that this family of musicians were descendants of the same Korah who led a rebellion against Moses in the desert (Numbers 16). This was a serious crime that led to serious consequences for all those involved. We read that God caused the ground to open up and swallow all those who were involved in the rebellion along with their families (vs31ff).
The idea of a judgement like this that involved the wiping out of the rebels as well as their families was that the line of the rebellious should not continue in the earth. It is therefore quite surprising that in Numbers 26:11 we read the words: “The line of Korah, however, did not die out.” And sure enough as we follow the genealogies through Chronicles we see that that the line of Korah did indeed continue.
According to 1 Chronicles 6:31ff, David, when he was organising the different tasks for the temple worship, assigned the ministry of song for a large part to the Kohathites. The head of this group was Herman who is the writer of Psalm 88 and more significantly is a direct descendant of Korah the Kohathite. Hence the psalm is also attributed to the Sons of Korah.
It seems that at some point this musical family came to be called after their rebellious forefather. Korah was an infamous historical figure in the Israelite consciousness, remembered as an example of rebellion against God. To be related to him would have been a notable thing, though not necessarily a negative thing. The continuing existence of this family line was a testimony to the grace of God who, although he would be right to wipe out the memory of sinful men from the earth, is nevertheless forgiving and whose heart is always for restoration and redemption rather than for destruction. The Sons of Korah were therefore a living testimony to God’s grace. They certainly had much to sing about. We feel the same way.
@@SonsofKorah There is no shame in our genealogy or who out ancestors are, for most tribes and lineage. The most significant is circumcision of heart, although the circumcision of flesh is important as well. I mean no disrespect at all but very curious as to where the name came from and why. It makes perfect sense and I appreciate you taking the time in sharing.
Lovely.
