Austin Reaves is a very fundamentally sound player. He has had three different coaches since being in the league plus he has played mostly 2,and 3 position not point guard. So if he is going to play point guard or quarterback of the offense- he is going to have to study film and study the masters - Magic, Stockton, Kidd, Rondo and Paul. Reaves has had some games where he has had assists in double figures and limited turnovers. So he is capable, Reaves has to improve his point guard skills and study!!!! Mamba mentality
Everything you said is true but lebron doesn't have time to wait on Reaves or any other player to become consistent they are in championship mode and Reaves is hurting them being a defensive liability it's to the point it's caused a split in the locker room that explains why we keep seeing games where the players just stop giving effort and if nothing changes then nothing will change 😎
I think Austin's offensive game is only going to get better and his defense is anyone's guess. I think ultimately, he's a solid third option who can sometimes pick it up and be a solid two when needed, like Tyler Herro without the three point shot. I think it's all about how long you want to wait to see if he progresses. But like, if you can find a second start to match with AD, the type of guys you'll want on your team will be guys like Dalton, AR and Max. To me, it's all about find that second star and making the right choices in the front court. Again, it's all about progress but how patient are you willing to be. That's just my thoughts. I'm not trading Austin unless I'm blown away by the offer.
Usually when people say a player should be coming off the bench when he is one of the more talented players on your team is right before he's traded cut or ends up playing over seas people saying this are only trying to bring down the franchise
No other contending team has ever sacrificed a roster spot and did well in the post season. Ty Lue was the 13th man barely played and ended up guarding Iverson in the finals.
So if what you are saying is true then trade lebron and start over why destroy his remaining years in a losing situation unless that is what Rob palinka Kobe friend is trying to do because he is incredibly stupid but LeBron is a fool for staying there 🤬
Austin benefits from playing with LBJ and AD... Hes not a starting point gaurd on any other team. Reeves is a hard worker but should be coming off the bench. Teams have started to pick on him at the defensive end because he cant gaurd. He tries hard but he cant.. He turns the ball over like crazy. Thats not his fault. Hes not a starting point gaurd
The Lakers are inconsistent largely due to the way that LeBron James plays. The Lakers are at their best like they were in the 2nd half of last night’s game against the Heat when Austin Reaves is allowed to have the basketball in his hands more and probe the defense and pick apart the other team’s defense, which is what he did to the tune of 14 assists as compared to just 1 turnover. For the season, Austin is averaging 6.2 assists per game compared to just 2.5 turnovers per game. THAT is an excellent assists to turnover ratio, which is why it’s all the maddening when LeBron James is allowed to dominate the basketball, stifling the Lakers’ offense and disrupting the rhythm of the other players. When Austin has the ball in his hands, good things happened far more often than not, because the team’s ball movement is at it’s best and everyone is fully engaged, NOT JUST LeBron. Yet, you 🤡 LeBron fans will continue to convince yourselves otherwise.🙄
Lebron led that comeback last night by finally asserting himself in the last 15+ minutes. He's been trying too hard to be a "team player" and get everyone else involved if you ask me. He's still capable of taking over a game and, when he does, his teammates usually follow suit, but only when he IS the system. The more he lets the rest of the team run the offense, the more they stink. I'm always holding my breath because it turns into a bad shot or a turnover. Lebron is the reason why we are supposed to be an elite team; he needs to start acting more like it instead of just being "one of the guys". There's just so much more that he can do and more easily than anyone else. His teammates tend to play better when he collapses the defense, and the focus is on him, so they can just play their ROLES and do it well because he will always find the open man. Lebron needs to get back to taking 20+ FGA if you ask me.
IM DONE WITH THE LAKERS - THEY WAIVE OLIVARI. I GUESS HE WOULD BE A HUGE CONTRIBUTOR IN ANOTHER NBA TEAM. THIS IS WHY THE DODGERS WILL BECOME BIGGER THAN THE LAKERS IN 2025. DOUBLE D " DODGERS DYNASTY 💙 "
Over the past two seasons, Austin Reaves has averaged 16 points per game, 5.6 assists per game and 4.4 rebounds per game on 49/37/85 shooting splits (2023-24 season) and 18 points per game, 6.2 assists per game and 4.3 rebounds per game on 44/36/82 shooting splits (2024-25 season) and doing so on even higher volume. Allen Sliwa, YOU continue to clownishly try to create this absurdly negative narrative about Austin Reaves even though he is clearly NOT the Lakers’ problem. LeBron James IS the problem, because he STILL refuses to play IN a system. James arrogantly thinks that he SHOULD BE THE SYSTEM and as long as his mindset continues to be this way, the Lakers will remain inconsistent. The beauty of Austin Reaves’ game is he’s shown the ability to be lethal with or without the basketball. There’s this laughable fallacy that you lame-ass media types have created for LeBron James, claiming that he makes everyone around him better even though he clearly does NOT do such a thing. The team’s ball movement is at it’s best when the offense runs through Austin. Psychologically, the Lakers’ players are at their best when Austin is out there empowering them to be the best versions of themselves. They’re at their worst psychologically when LeBron is out there brow-beating them whenever they make mistakes. If you can’t see this, you’re an idiot. Plain and simple.🤷🏽♂️
