To me this area feel less like a calm before the storm and more like the end of something. Perhaps someone you never met is being moruned. Perhaps reality is collapsing and there's nothing anyone can do to stop it. Perhaps you, yourself, are dead, and the last embers of your consciousness came here before the stars reclaim it.
This area is absolutely calming. Perfect for taking a break. There is that one Bob-Omb Buddy who worries too much, but gives helpful advice for life. Speaking of which, what WOULD you do if there was no tomorrow? Nothing sadly. But don’t worry. You have lots of time to live through life. Just don’t waste your time, because there’s no going back.
This is the emotion you feel at your own funeral when your body is just a decayed husk but your soul hasn't left for the heavens yet. I have no idea where that came from but it's my official interpretation of this song now
