- I recently paid ~$120 for over 75 untested phones from Goodwill... and oh boy, people leave so much stuff on their old phones. You won't believe what I found on some of these... 😳
I'm planning to do a WhatNot auction where I auction off a bunch of the phones from this lot. If you sign up using my link, you'll get a $15 credit to use on anything! www.whatnot.com/invite/jacobr
To find and bookmark my upcoming stream, search for my profile "jacobr" and click on my stream called "Tons of PHONES" and bookmark it. You will be able to bid on items during the auction, and I will likely have some stuff in the Buy Now section as well soon.

It’s wild how much stuff people leave on their old phones 😂 episode 3 coming next Saturday!
Y’all need to reset yo phones before selling but make sure to remove google and or Apple ID because it will lock it if not done otherwise
That's what my dad says whenever we sell an Android device.
I got a phone with a credit card picture once😂😂 I don't play roblox anymore so it was of no use to me
But they are usually broken and I fix them so I'm not surprised
It’s scarily common for people to not reset their phones when they give it to recyclers, I repaired a lot of older iPhones and majority weren’t reset (in fact, one HAS an Apple ID lock to another person’s Apple ID, but they didn’t set a passcode so I’m keeping it and just haven’t reset it)
Phones in this video, and carriers:
0:21 - BLU View 2 (TRACFONE wireless, Inc., 2020)
1:07 - Samsung EXHIBIT 4G (T-Mobile, 2011)
3:01 - TCL FLIP Pro (verizon, Most likely 2021 from earliest review of the phone.)
5:10 - LG Aristo {M210} (MetroPCS, 2017)
7:17 - LG 440G (TRACFONE wireless, Inc., most likely 2013 from earliest review of the phone.)
8:13 - KYOCERA Brio by KYOCERA (Sprint, 2011)
9:18 - NOKIA 105 4th Edition {2019 version} (UNLOCKED, 2019)
10:46 - LG chocolate touch {VX8575} (Verizon Wireless, 2009)
11:13 - Apple iPhone 6 Plus (UNLOCKED, 2014)
12:06 - MOTOROLA W418G (TRACFONE wireless, Inc., 2010)
12:31 - SAMSUNG Flight (AT&T, 2009)
14:08 - SAMSUNG GALAXY S4 (Verizon variant, 2013)
15:58 - ALCATEL Jitterbug Flip (2016 from earilest review of the phone.)
BONUS - A original slogan and advertisment campaign for one phone!
LG chocolate touch: ADs for the phone featured the artist Ciara, with a listening test for the phone, comapring it to the older chocolate 3, then the artist herself. The featured slogan was: "IS IT A PHONE? OR SOMETHING BETTER?"
im not scared about you getting the year part. im scared about you somehow managing to find which variant is it
This comment should be pinned.
You did what I was about to do😂😂😂
weren't you on the last video, you know your phones, that's for sure
People are using flip phones in 2024, it's called the Samsung Z Flip
Bro didn't donate his phone, he straight up donated his SSN 💀 💀 Small town rappers smh
11:52 The reason you can’t touch anything is because that iPhone has a factory issue called “Touch IC” it’s pretty common on the iPhone 6 series and causes that screen flash at the top, it only can only be fixed with soldering on the logic board, a screen replacement won’t fix it.
thanks for the info, and that's unfortunate - I just looked up a repair video on the issue and I definitely do not have the soldering skills to successful do that 😂
@@SmokinSiliconoh I have though but I’m learning
One random nerd thing, android phones have an emergency alert history (almost ALL android phones) so you can probably look to see the random weather alerts people have gotten and where the phone was used.
That S4 brings brings back memories
ye i used a custom rom one as my daily 3 years ago eh I've had worse phones than that but battery life was awful
but eh screen was good it lloked crisp idk but old Samsung devices i just like them more than modern ones
YESSS I have one
It would be cool to see this series done with laptops and desktop computers
We've thought about it, and we might do something similar with laptops and/or desktops one day, but they just take up so much more space and are more expensive than a huge lot of phones
@@SmokinSiliconYou should do this with random hard drives
The last phone was hilarious
"How are you?"
Phone : "Done?"
so about the locked phones you can use a keylogger to get in the phones if i remember correctly you use Linux terminal and hook it up to a phone and it will test out all the combinations to unlock the phone it basically bypasses the "try x minutes later" thing
I just realized that this guy isn’t that famous. It says 2 hours ago but less than 1K views. These people should be more watched than this.
Dude I so agree I love people that do this stuff
Not really. This guy is very ignorant for a tech reviewer. There's wiser and better out there.
@@mal0gen alr yeah thats true
This is an alternate channel for the youtuber Jacob R who has 444k on his main account
This channel is fairly new and his secondary channel. if he keeps it up, this could reack 100k in no time
Wild how unique phones used to be compared to now.
There's one flipphone, the Samsung W2019 (android of course, also a full size screen on the front), that was only ever sold in china & still costs a bit. So i had to import one here to australia, a Rose Gold one. Had to manually put Google Play services on it since those aren't on them normally, and have been using mine for 4 months as my primary phone, and is a pretty nice one. Not your ordinary flip phone for sure.
For the phones with passwords you can run some sort of program that will try all the different phone password combos I don't know how to do this you could look up a tutorial
The LG Brings Back Memories
this series reminds me of dankpods' nugget lucky dip series. i like it
All of these are like time capsules from my childhood and college days
Welcome to this person buying every single phone from eBay only to find out they’re iCloud locked.
7:01 You should probably reach out to the guy. Seems like this person would wanna get his phone back haha
wait so does this mean you will no longer upload regularly on the jacob r channel and upload on this more?
also love your videos (including the ones on jacob r)!!
Fun fact: if your lucky enough, you can hard reset the phone using the recovery menu by either pressing both vol + and power button, it could be different tho, if it doesnt have frp, you could probably and possibly be able to use it
he still uploads on his OG channel
Most of these are old enough that they won't require you to sign in to the account that was previously on this phone
Definitely still uploading over here on Jacob R! 😊
@@jrob0021what’s the point of this channel then?
@@toucanroombas i guess that jacob r is for consoles and this one is for phones and other stuff
"Now, checking this man's internet browsing history..." 😯🤔😏
i think the TCL phone isn't old at all, KaiOS first version is released in 2017 and the OS is still in active development
Mozzarella 🔥🦊
That second phone 1:07... The early Samsung Exhibit I purchased new through TMobile in 2011. Was my first smart phone. :)
About the Nokia, the headset is used as fm antenna.
11:16 OMG I KINDA THINK THAT ONE WAS MINE BECAUSE I REMEMBER HAVING A SILVER IPHONE 6S IN 2019 AND THE MIDDLE OF MY SCREEN WOULD NEVER WORK
I don't use a Flip phone BUT I do use a T9 keyboard on my Moto Stylus for nostalgia. Had it for a month or so and I just now gotten back used to it lol
i am currently using that same exact TCL flip phone and it works fairly well for a flippy
I had my old blackberry phone until like a year or so ago until they shut down 3g service. At&t actually sent me a free phone that’s valued at like $50 lol, took a while to get used to the touch screen after using a physical keyboard for like 20 years.
The blurred baby looked soooo cursed
I have already alot of phones, and in most cases when I got or buy some old phones the data from the owner is still on it!
the silver lg android phone is the LG aristo i think i have one of theose still somewhere in my house maybe
bro, you need to start a soundcloud and record those lyrics you found lol
Sometime you need to do a phone collection
I'm actually texting u from my fold 😂
S4 had an 1080p screen so it was impressive for 2013.
11:01 Think that one is the LG Chocolate.
Don't eat it tho it hurts
Old tracfone cellphones only will allow you to use the phone if you have the original sim card that came with the phone, so buying a sim for the LG 440G would be futile because its useless without its original sim card. It's a really stupid rule.
I physically cringed when I saw that 6 plus, that ain’t the screen that’s touch disease, it’s to do with bending on the board’s IC chips, look it up for more info, but otherwise, RIP 🪦
MetroPCS is now Metro by T-Mobile
kai os is a modern flip phone os that phone is recent and still sold new.
3:12
I have a same flip phone somewhere in my house
By the way old iphones can get unlimited passcode attempts and be bruteforced. As long as you dont reset they can be icloud bypassed too
so hard watching this video with bro having absolutely no idea about anything he just bought 😂
5:23 Thats a 1st Generation LG Aristo.
does a zflip 4 count as using a flip phone in 2024?
Seeing a older BLU or LG cellphone makes me 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊.
Well with the flip phones if you think about it they are back only now they are called folding phones and cost mega bucks
3:41 The phone was using KaiOS which more details can be found here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/KaiOS
7:35 I have that exact phone that I inheritted from my uncle.
ME HAVE A FLIPPIN FLIP PHONE
I actually have a tcl smart tv and its quite good
The S4 being aheads of its time? That’s Samsung for you. Always a step above iPhone
So i can say. If the phone shows little to no use. Like within a short amount of years. It could be possible that they person who originally owned the phone passed away and it was put in a drawer. I only know this because of my experiences with data recovery
Have you ever found a phone with creepy pictures
He ruined goodwill for me for taking the entire stock of phones
Worked in a trade in factory for smartphones. I have stories for days of things I found on phones and things other human being should never see. SSN #'s ,credit cards. One time we had a paramedics phone and I'll leave it at that. They would come in unlocked because they had to have the passcode removed in order to trade them in. Whoever transferred the data from the old phone to the new one never wipe them
Oh man I bet you've seen some STUFF 😂
4:00 you can still purchase flip phones new from carriers
Moo
4:00 its a burner
I am watching on the LG phone the touch screan one
Bro how are you older than me and not know about these old phones ? 😂
I use a flip phone (: ,energizer E282SC
4:00 i use a brick phone too bro its not easy to have a smart phone :( and not free ;)
LG phones are the most innovative ones in the mobile industry
I had the LG velvet the last phone they ever made. Beautiful phone. I loved everything about it, but after a couple of months the mic stopped working. So I had to return it. I'm still a little sad about that, but have a OnePlus Nord CE 2 5G now, and it runs great. Not as beautiful as the LG though.
yes
i thoguht this looked like a jrob video tbh
my sister has a nokia flip phone with kai named apps and youtube because its a kaios based phone and that tcl flip phone is a kaios phone because it has kai named apps also youtube
also that blue nokia phone is also a kaios phone
TCL phone with kaios ❤❤ 😅😅😅
Is it AT&T and yes it does have UA-cam funny right😂
Bible study - THIS IS A BIBLE . Lesson over..
Not like there's much more to learn, anyways.
What if all these phones are from dead people 💀
I think it's running the same android as my tablet bru 😰😲
14:40
i had a flip phone. a z flip but it was a flip phone
😂😂😂 yessss
I am using a flip phone.
I'm currently using a flip phone in 2024 a z flip 5 lol
I’m using an iPhone SE 2020
Small phone gang
1:23
I am use flip pghon
If you look at some of the phones you have you might already have some of the SIM cards you are needing to access some of the others? Just a thought!📵📲📱
