Great info about camp toilet. We’ve purchased the Yitahome camp toilet but NOT for camping; we live in central Alaska where half the city population lives remotely and water hauling is absolutely necessary being accomplished by frequent hauling of 1600 gallons of water in tanks secured to pickup truck beds or on to flatbed trailers. We are having to replace flooring in the bathroom, a project that will require removal of our toilet for a time. For the sake of comfort we are using the Yitahome camp toilet as a backup system until all work is finished. We have found it important to press the pressure stabilization button (next to the slide valve handle) to balance the internal pressure of the waste holding tank; if internal waste tank has unreleased positive pressure and isn’t stabilized before dumping, the contents can be forced to seep from slide valve assembly or cap assembly on waste disposal spout. Thanks very much for your informative presentation on the operation and use of these Yitahome products.
I'll never forget the look Braxton's face when we went to the pit toilet. He refused to use it! (Although there were some flies flying around, lol). He peed in the woods all the weekend and the little guy had a #2 accident later that night. Man, what I wouldn't have given for a set up like this at that time!
I use a similar setup. Different brands. But same thing. Use a Browning 5x5 privacy tent. Also have a portable shower with a colapasable 50 gallon drum. Works amazing.
The only reason I'm interested in purchasing this toilet/sink combo product is for emergencies. So if the toilet in my home doesn't operate for whatever reason, then I have this toilet/sink combo as a backup. Also, thank you for the very simple explanation that you provided in this review.
I have one too !! its awesome for emergency at home for disaster. And I can take it to my cabin too. I also use the base camp on demand hot water unit. thanks
oops! splash poop 6:50 what if i have a big log like i always do I think it would be better to drop the log then close it and then pump the water then flush it .... great idea
Oh yeah a few more things what if the toilet paper and logs get stuck in the orange thingy? everything stinks no mater what... although I like the toilet 😊😊
What is the best chemical for the waste smell to put in the bottom? I don't want to use the wrong product and possibly cause damage to the holding tank. I have this exact one. Thank you for the video :)
Would this work for off grid living. My question is what you can do with the waste if you are not at a camp site and don’t have an actual dump station?
Great video. Thanks for sharing. Can this sink be used with a SereneLife portable toilet??? I just purchased it and now saw your video and would love to get this sink. I already purchased the Ozark shower/changing room. I was wondering how to collect the shower water/grey water if our campground rules state no grey water???? Since the shower drains out through the mesh onto the grass ?????
I'm not sure if the sink will work with your sink. What you can do for no gray wall is buy one of those blow up baby pools (ones that are about 24 inches in diameter. You can stand in it then drain it into a bucket to dump it afterwards.
I have been searching absolutely everywhere to the answer to one question: *how do you clean the freshwater tank*. It doesn't come apart at all and only has the hole to pour the water in. When I ordered one I'd assumed I'd be able to get inside and scrub it out for first-time use and was pretty horrified to find out that it didn't come apart at all. You can't prevent mold and bacteria build-up, so how are you supposed to keep it clean or even make sure it's dry inside before storage?
@@LoneCrowAdventures - Thank you, that's what my father suggested! But is there any danger of the bleach traces lingering in the container and making me or my family sick? That's my concern. I've looked up food-safe tablets to put in containers like this but they are very pricey at $40 and it'd take a lot of tablets to clean this.
Did the sink pedestal tube that connects to the water tank have a screw on lid so you can carry the tank to fill up without lugging the sink and pedestal? That was the only drawback I saw if it does not. Carrying the whole set up to someplace to fill the tank is not practical I would imagine.
That pedestal is solid, no water runs through it. The water runs through the little tub on the side and requires depression of the pump to flow. So no extra cap needed on the sink for transport.
That lever is for the toilet paper. Lol not for bar soap. And you fill the toilet before going #2. That way nothing sticks to the sides or less likey to get stuck and pinched innthe white disc area. Fill it first! Lol
I very very rarely leave any comments..well done on this vid, nice and clearly spoken review. Who'd have thought, it's actually possible to do a youtube review without a stupid zany personality and a rock band blaring over the person speaking.
I just assembled my portable toilet and sink. I'm finding that the hose from the sink and the toilet interfer with closing and opening the toilet lid. Is there something I'm missing or I just have to hold the hose out of the way when opening and closing the lid?
I had that problem as well. You just need to crinkle the hose away from the lid slightly on a curved angel and it should open and close without a problem.
@@LoneCrowAdventures Hook up with a hose not pour it. My thought process is I’d need a tube fitted to connect from the portable toilets hole dump section (people usually tip it and pour it I do not want to do that at all!!) and a tube fitted to connect to the sewage dump site and use a macerator pump. Any thoughts?
Yes, they can be purchased separately, but you save some money if you buy them together. But if you don't need one or the other, just buy the one you need.
Buy them separately, especially if you have kids. There's something a little gross about having a sink connected to a toilet to me anyway. Also, after a while of kids washing their hands with too much soap or brushing their teeth...all that toothpaste and soap gums up the water tank and flushing mechanism of the toilet...and let's face it,that's the most important part...you never want that to fail.
Who would have thought to reproduce your bathroom sink as a niche glamping product? For me, a Luggable Loo seems reasonable... Lugging a sink? Not so much, but to each their own. Take care.
Actually I've been using the luggage loo for years! Simple and easy. I got this system Actually not for Camping. We are on a well and when the power goes out no flushing toilets! Nice to have a back up plan! Decided to put a camping twist on this! Thanks for watching!
To stop the waste bubbling and splashing like it did in the video and it does generally, I like to open up the divider to the waste tank a little bit first, or fully before going.
Pro tip: don’t even put your waste tissue and wipes in the portable toilet…use the diaper genie to dispose of the tissue and wipes. Just sit the diaper genie right there. Another pro tip: try to use the toilet for emergency only. If you can stomach the community pit toilet, go ahead and use it instead.
Who designed this faucet? Water should be above so no more pumping. It's so clumsy. Get a bucket with a faucet worth $20 bucks and a $10 plastic basin which probably has more space to wash dishes and wash your face.

That is very helpful to know!
Dang Samantha! That's some serious glamping! I never knew something like that even existed... Great review!
It's pretty incredible!

We bought it…Thank you sooo much! We’re a retired couple and just got back into tent camping again. Good video! Peace and Blessings
I hope this works out well for you!
How’s your experience with it?
Wow thank you so much , you explained so well ,
That is the best portable toilet tutorial I have seen on UA-cam. Thanks for explaining this!!!!
Thanks so much!
This a a really neat contraption. I think I will be purchasing one for my car camping trips!
It's pretty fabulous if you are staying stationary at camp for a few days.
Trying to set up the ability to go camping on my own again and using a van so, this will work for my needs. Thank you
Yeppers. Especially the toilet makes a perfect van toilet!!!
Best toilet review video on the internet!
Thanks so much for the kind words!
Great video. Thank you for making & posting!
You're very welcome!!!
Great demonstration. I'm getting one of these for a tiny home I'm building.
That would be excellent for a tiny home setup!
Thanks for the video. I was afraid to pull on that valve on the toilet but saw you do it.
Yep it makes it go down!
Very nice! I will be going camping in the spring so I will be buying one.
You will be very happy with it!!!!
First time here. I absolutely love how easily you explain things. Could you do one for handicap wheelchair access tent camping?
That would be a great video idea!
Excellent job on showing how this great option works! Thank you for sharing!

No problem 👍

2 years later and I’m not sure you’ll see this, is this capable of handling #2? (New camper)
(The bar soap holder is actually a towel holder, that swings outward & holds a hand towel.)
Handy!!!!!

Would this work for off grid living. My question is what you can do with the waste if you are not at a camp site and don’t have an actual dump station?
You would have to burry it somehow, away from any ground water sources.

Yes, it just pops out to pack back up. No problems!
So cool
Thanks for swinging by to check it out
From what I understood, I thought the little bar thingy that holds the soap down, actually spins outwards and is a TP holder?
Omg! My mind is blown! Perhaps it is.
YOU ARE CORRECT Joanne! Can alternatively be used to hold face cloth

I fill it up with some bleach water, let it sit for a few minutes and use the pump to flush it. That seems to work well.

How about draining the tank... Won't big logs get stuck in the elbow to drain it?
Use a good waste digester tab in the tank to turn lumps into liquid

Does toilet paper clog the orange tube when dumping?
I've never had that happen. Just don't use the extra thick kind and you'll be find. Regular 2 ply is fine.
How do you hook this up to dump at dump sites?
Use the orange tube that spins out

Yep, Cora is right. If you need just the toilet you can buy it or if you do like the combo it's more economical to buy the set!
