The standard size was my first and only deck for ten years.... and I still love the Motherpeace so much! I have the mini but love the standard size for all of the reasons you mentioned. You did a great job of showing the major differences! I wish the smaller one had the same feel, I don’t like the extra lamination and it makes harder for me to shuffle plus the bigger deck has held up great through the years, it feels even better now than when it was new. It is funny after having something for a long time going back and looking at it again all the new ways of seeing and discovering new things.

Namaste, dear siStar! That was such a significantly different comparison between the 2 sizes. i still have my original larger deck that i purchased in the 80's! It is clear and a lovely matte finish. i also used to have a very early version of the mini, and that one was also matte. [before the uber glossy] Several years ago i purchased a large one [for a back up ], and i am pretty sure it was glossy like your mini. There was a time that USGames was printing lots of decks in Italy with the gloss finish. Lots of peeps were complaining on forums in the tarot community, and finally they heard us and started printing a more matte finish in China. i have all the books that were published to go with the MotherPeace--including the workbook. i haven't used my deck in quite a while and now feel inspired to do so. i think it is my oldest deck that i originally purchased when it was first released, so very nostalgic for me. Kasia, they are all good, IMHO--but if i had to choose one, i think my favorite is Motherpeace: A Way to the Goddess Through Myth, Art, and Tarot by Vicki Noble.

Thank you SO MUCH for this comparison! The difference in color is shocking. . .and doesn't at all bother me. It just makes me want to get a larger deck in addition to the mini! The clarity of detail is really shocking, too. It's like the mini version was washed out. That said -- I am in LOVE with this deck. LOVE. I don't know how I overlooked it back in the early '90's when I first started reading, but I somehow didn't vibe with it at that time. But despite my initial doubts back then, I felt called to it enough recently (when I came back to tarot after a 10 year break!) that I bought a mini deck at my local shop and am IN. LOVE. I'm in the process of getting a larger deck to work with and one of the books. Even without the books and larger deck, it's impossible not to love. I knew right away that I needed a larger deck to see the images in their full detail, and now i'm really excited to begin that journey as well. Another deck that was wasted on me in my youth is Pamela Eakins' Tarot of the Spirit. WOW. That deck is absolutely WONDERFUL. I guess I'm just ready for more feminine decks at this point in my life? Anyway -- thank you for your video! I'm so excited to explore the rest of your channel!

It holds a special place in my heart as this groundbreaking deck started me on my Tarot journey !i keep toying with the idea of buying the mini, but now I know why I haven’t !!!!
