There's an interesting detail you missed about why Travis picked on Sally, him being at the spot, defending Sally with Ash and Maple and why he breaks the cycle and fight his dad. He actually likes Sal (as a crush likely?), which you will get this info when talking to him in the boy's restroom and found a written paper in a trash can from the school that is likely from Travis.

sally face is an incredibly crafted game with a captivating story and hella unique art style. steve gabry honestly made one of the best horror games of our lifetime. i love rewatching gameplays due to loving the story so so SO much. i wish it was a book itd be a best seller

I clicked on this video expecting a full on analysis and video essay. I actually like this far more. The way you go through the game chapter by chapter like a playthrough, giving theories as you go, and the fact you're chatting to us as the viewer made this perfect viewing for me as I was doing chores before work. It also allows for those who haven't played in a long time (like me!) to notice the little incongruous details that would have otherwise been forgotten. Thank you so much!
I've been a Sally face fan since the very beginning when the game first came out and have always been surprised at the lack of content creators discussing it. It's criminally underrated. The story is filled with a beautiful mix of tragedy and hope and dealing with trauma as a child that you shouldn't have to know exists in the world but still having the courage to fight back the darkness no matter how much it takes from you. I really enjoyed this video and appreciate the care and attention to detail. I was screaming seeing your live reactions while playing through the game cause you were so genuinely invested and going through the emotions all fans of Sally face have experienced. @@UriClarke ive played the game a million times. it has some spook to it, particularly in later chapters because its pretty similar to sally face in the sense that it deals with cults and "alternate realities" that mae, the main character, has a sort of...sixth sense to, but it definitely isnt as scary as SF. most of the game is centered around the characters, their lives, and their relationships with each other. their mental struggles, religion, being queer in a small town, all that fun stuff. it isnt as sad either, the endings a lot more bittersweet and hopeful. basically, tdlr, they have a lot of similarities but their main difference is NITW isnt as heavy.
11:31 || In the dream of "Memories and Dreams", it was revealed that his face was mauled from by a gunshot from a shotgun while his mother attempted to protect him. I think you have to do something specific in order to actually see that specific scene but you should be able to find an image of it on the sally face wiki under the images for “Memories And Dreams”. Yooooo I actually love Sally Face for a number of reasons and it’s great getting a video just talking about the game. In terms of how different SF is to Fran Bow it is extremely refreshing. You don’t need to read into everything as much because the story is just what it is. Like the curtains really are just blue and as much as I like picking apart stuff it’s nice not having to go that deep just to figure out some lore like don’t get me wrong I love my Hollow Knight’s and Rain World’s but having a story be upfront and straight forward with its strange story is relaxing in a way. Something I really enjoy about the game is just the representation. Like, it feels so casual and I appreciate that. Sally face being gender non-conforming is really cool like my man is literally wearing a dress at his dad’s wedding and I think that’s real neat. But that moment where Sal needs to go around the apartments and murder everyone hurt me so bad. Like the player’s participation makes it sting a little bit. Like it’s not just a cut scene you have to play as Sal and murder the residents. ALSO THE MUSIC???? The music is fun :) I like it :) I think it’s neat :) Honestly if you like games with protagonist that are somewhat unreliable narrators I’d suggest Omori but there’s one other that I’m not remembering but if I do remember I’ll update this. I thought it was Off but it’s not Off it’s gotta be something else. Same as you, I'd heard of Sally Face but never really looked into it. This video made me realise that I've been missing out on one of the most interesting games that's come out in the last few years. I love psychological horror and stories with themes like death, trauma and mental health. I always liked reading books but I think games are a great medium for telling stories like this. I remember playing the game a good few months ago, the game has one of the best soundtracks I've ever heard but also one of the most unique soundtracks, it really sets the tone for certain scenes perfectly.

man i remember staying up for the drop of episode 3 and getting so spooked by the fuckin red dot in the beginning sequence that i closed the game til i could syke myself back up to play properly
idr much abt the fandom, other than the salarry shippers and weird hate for ash so i dont really get the opening bit abt the fandom, but im so happy that people are still willing to deep dive into this game and its lore to analyze and dissect it. its still one of my all time favorite games and i feel like a lot of people slept on it

@@UriClarke ive played the game a million times. it has some spook to it, particularly in later chapters because its pretty similar to sally face in the sense that it deals with cults and "alternate realities" that mae, the main character, has a sort of...sixth sense to, but it definitely isnt as scary as SF. most of the game is centered around the characters, their lives, and their relationships with each other. their mental struggles, religion, being queer in a small town, all that fun stuff. it isnt as sad either, the endings a lot more bittersweet and hopeful.
basically, tdlr, they have a lot of similarities but their main difference is NITW isnt as heavy.
The Sally Face fandom never dies, and if it dies - it always comes back.

Yooooo I actually love Sally Face for a number of reasons and it’s great getting a video just talking about the game. In terms of how different SF is to Fran Bow it is extremely refreshing. You don’t need to read into everything as much because the story is just what it is. Like the curtains really are just blue and as much as I like picking apart stuff it’s nice not having to go that deep just to figure out some lore like don’t get me wrong I love my Hollow Knight’s and Rain World’s but having a story be upfront and straight forward with its strange story is relaxing in a way.
Something I really enjoy about the game is just the representation. Like, it feels so casual and I appreciate that. Sally face being gender non-conforming is really cool like my man is literally wearing a dress at his dad’s wedding and I think that’s real neat.
But that moment where Sal needs to go around the apartments and murder everyone hurt me so bad. Like the player’s participation makes it sting a little bit. Like it’s not just a cut scene you have to play as Sal and murder the residents.

Same as you, I'd heard of Sally Face but never really looked into it. This video made me realise that I've been missing out on one of the most interesting games that's come out in the last few years. I love psychological horror and stories with themes like death, trauma and mental health. I always liked reading books but I think games are a great medium for telling stories like this. I remember playing the game a good few months ago, the game has one of the best soundtracks I've ever heard but also one of the most unique soundtracks, it really sets the tone for certain scenes perfectly.

I love how we never get to see Sal’s actual face. It remains a mystery and it really adds to the game. No dramatic reveal, but no constant hype-up. Just a side mystery that fans can only make their interpretations of.
