Thank you so much for making this video! My grandpa passed away recently and I inherited this vcr and really needed to know if it could be used as a regular vcr. I was worried it was just a recorder and only worked with a satellite. I’m going to try hooking it up this week to see if it works!

Did anyone make a direct drive vcr? I don't want to worry about getting rubber bands when they get old and fall apart, again.
Is this better than the 1000?
I like more the commercial quality Panasonic Super Drive 6 head hi fi vcrs. They are hard to find. They are better than this sony.
