Lol! Some day maybe Bob! All people mess up. Heck this next video will be a bumble of errors! Haha! Well maybe not next video, but I tied up a copper John for video and man, it wasn’t my day! Haha!
Thanks! Yeah right now with covid, they aren’t in school and Mom is a nurse so she is working so many hours. The kids are always here, and it’s this way or no way right now. Haha! I’m a full time teacher now, full time parent and full time youtuber, and full time fly tier. Haha! I’m usually up till at least midnight every night, sometimes 2am, to get all my work done. Then back up with the kids at 6am.
Enjoyed, I watched your Medina River trip and tied a couple of green gurlers for an upcoming trip to the Frio River in mid Nov. Appreciate the informality of your videos, its also reassuring to us beginners to see mistakes and how to fix them. Keep up the good work.
@@McFlyAngler I'm not a Fly Fisherman but have a TON of respect for those who are. Anyone who has enough skill and patience to tie really beautiful and effective Flies of so many types and styles with the never ending list of available materials to me is an absolute artist. I've been an avid Largemouth and Smallmouth Bass Angler for about 45 years. I have amassed a REDICULOUS collection of Fishing Tackle that could possibly sink some boats if I set all of it in one. I used to Trout Fish when I was a kid and then found I was better suited for Bass Fishing. I enjoyed your videos.
Hey Shawn, another neat pattern. I'm still trying to figure out if it's a sprog or a frider as it has characteristics of both a frog and a spider. No matter, as long as it works. Keep the good stuff coming.
Probably the original pattern was a spider, however it’s supposed to move along the top of the water spitting water so, I’m not sure of many spiders that do that? Are there? I think a frog more or less maybe. I don’t know. Lol
@@McFlyAngler yah by the looks of it! btw one of my friends who sadly just passed but he wrote some pretty sweet bookies and made some AWSOME flies his name is Thom Wendelburg you should look him up to get some idas he kind of pioneers light tackle fly fishing for big fish.
Makes me feel better about tying flies when you show the real-world process. I still can’t tie a fly but it does make me think there may be hope!

Thanks glad my videos help
Thank you kindly, brother for the tutorial !
No problem 👍
No need to apologize for your children, I am willing to bet most of us are Dads too!
Lol for sure. But most of us aren’t trying to film something with children either. Haha! Thanks for watching.
You trimmed all four legs on that first Gurggler... What would happen if you left them long..?
You can leave them long if you want. But I find they foul a little on the hook that way. But try it and see how long you want them.

Ok now I’m going to put 10 hours to get 2@ flies perfect then lose them all on the first cast to fish lol 😂
Naw these don’t take that long, I can usually tie them in about 10 minutes each. Not too bad.
