  • Greg Page, the original Yellow Wiggle, is teaming up with Next Door to reach out and encourage Australians to set a world record and learn proper CPR via an online class in order to learn how to save a life.
Mr Page collapsed earlier this year on stage after going into cardiac arrest whilst the Wiggles were hosting a bushfire benefit concert in Sydney.
A registered nurse at the concert stepped in before Mr page was taken to hospital; ambulance officers say had it not been for the quick actions of the crowd member and Mr Page’s band mates, the Yellow Wiggle may not have survived.
Mr Page is encouraging Australians to set a world record and hop online to tune into an online CPR class on September 19 at 7pm.
People can register to join at “nextdoor.com.au/heartoftheneighbourhood”, participants can win prizes including an AED machine for their neighbourhood.
“The more people that know CPR and feel confident to be able to use it when needed, the more lives can be saved,” Mr Page told Sky News.
“It’s about people feeling confident and empowered to perform CPR when they need to.
“Because any attempt at resuscitation is better than no attempt.”

I am American and Daddy also has heart problems, but he was born with it. Greg Page really inspires me with this video and his advocacy for heart health ♥.

Greg Is so amazing at raising awareness for cardiac arrest, even If it was one day after his birthday, he was brought back to life by amazing medical professionals.

Cardiac Arrest is one of the unfortunate outcomes of having POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome) otherwise known as Dysautonomia. It is a very rare neurological condition that both Greg and I share, so I really feel for him. It is good to see that he is getting up on stage and trying to move around a bit when every effort takes so MUCH effort! Sleep apnoea is another huge worry...lets hope for a cure for POTS soon...there have been promising breakthroughs over the past few years...good on you Greg.

Not sure I agree with this. I've done more than 50 CPR/LVR courses for work and if you don't know what your doing you can puncture lungs, tear arteries and ultimately do more damage. Also the average person doesn't understand certain things about death, also how physically violent the process of CPR is, especially on a man with a big chest, if alot of people just watched an online course and attempted CPR they wouldn't even know how hard you need to push on someone's chest to perform a compression.
Getting more AEDs in public places is a way better idea, and would save more lives.

It doesn’t matter he’s dead anyway I did CPR and it was his third heart attack and the previous doctor broke his ribs and he still survived just do it

@@brunogow4665 your right, attempting cpr is better than no cpr. If you had access to an AED in the first 3 minutes the survival rate goes from 20% to over 90%. That's why I think it's better to invest in AED's for all public and private building and as a standard inclusion in new cars.
