More history than you can shake a stick at! Great video. Sail Safe Guys, Ant, Cid & the pooch crew.
You got that right! Any news on freedom of movement yet?
@@SailingABSea Nothing as yet. We have been told we can leave but there is nowhere to go. Tunis is looking favorable.....
Güzel olmuş teşekkürler.
Rica ederim. 😀
It's a very good promotional video. Thank you.
Secretly I wish you could change your mind and stay for a few more years in the meds, to show us all those millions hidden and not so hidden treasures of the Meds. Your way of introducing us all to those wonderful historic and scenic treasures of all the surrounding country sites is so very special. But most of all because you grew into becoming our binoculars giving as the joy of seeing things we otherwise can’t!
That said I reluctantly understand your wish to slowly but surely find your way back home and with that Covid issue and Brexit of coarse travelling has become more than a challenge for you guys. Fair winds, stay safe and impatiently waiting for your next video!😉🤗👍👏👏👏👏👏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏⛵️
Thank you so much Samai. 😀 Your words are very kind and give us encouragement. 👍
Finike and Finike Marina need more promotion.
Great loved the Lycian ruins
The Lycian history is fascinating. 👍
Your Very Good Guides, and i like the Harbor videos as well. Nicely done for any one going to use them.
Our Anchorage Series is more popular than we imagined and we'll be adding more videos to that playlist this summer.
Hi guys, any reason you two don’t have folding bikes to get around on?
The bikes that don't rust within 10 minutes of exposure to salt laden air are very expensive, plus we have nowhere on board to store even folding bikes.
Bizarrely all over Turkey all of the similar shops can found in one area. Fabric area, Hardware area. Once you find the area you need you are sorted. As a slıght aside when driving do you still try and change gear with the window winder?
Lol lol
We'd agree with your assessment of shopping areas Dave. We noticed that especially at the Grand Bazar in Istanbul. 👍 Driving a manual vehicle in any country is now thankfully hardwired so no window winding anymore. 😄
Better then National geographic and the history channel , Baz you change gear in cars like you used to mix and scratch music smooth geezer, Aannsha love your commentary and great athleticism
Thanks Freddie. 😀👍
Lol thanks! I think I scored an 8.5 on the score board! 😄🏅
Another bunch of nice places to visit on the list… Good job 👏
It's turning into a very big list Michel. 📜📝
Baz, wondering if you have travelled to Monemvasia in Greece? One of the best preserved walled cities that is still inhabited.
Jay
Hi Jay, no we never got that far south and west. 🙂
Nice edit guys 👍
Thank you 🙌
Thank you! I love my job!
another nice episode :) the rectengular holes on the carved stones are connection holes. Ancient times there are no glue or cement to stick the stones each other till Roman Period. Architects were using iron or bronze pins to connect the stones.
That's interesting information, thank you ni ko!
Thanks for the info Ni Ko, now they make sense. 👍
Another thought on your planned trip East, fuel will probably not be as clean as you are used to. If you don't already have it, its worth fitting a racor filter unit a twin one if you can as you can switch over quickly when at sea. Get as many filters as you can before leaving Turkey, also get one of these funnels that seperates the water before it goes in the tank. And lastly, to make ot easier to refuel at sea get a small 12volt self priming fuel pump that you can stick in the jerry can (much easier in a swell or rough sea)
All very good observations and recommendations, thanks Mark. 👍
Feed the bear 😊
I think you should pay a little bit money, and get a decent card reader. But that's just my patience talking 😉
Fair winds,,, /),,,,
if we could find a fast USB SD card reader in Turkey we'd happily pay the price. 👍
Great video to watch on a windy wet morning in London
Summer is coming, just keep hanging on mate. 😀
I enjoy these videos a lot now I can relate to what your doing; since I have a boat now cant wait to hit the high seas and sail the planet.
Good to have you following our journey. 👍
Sitting here in cold wet dark UK under lockdown my only comment is you lucky bastards!
(Baz) Hi Glenn, I read your last two words with the voice of Michael Palin in the dungeon scene in Life of Brian. 😂
@@SailingABSea It was 10 years before they even hung me the right way up!

One stone at a time i think mate :) is how they did it.
Ahhh the same method as we use to eat an elephant. 😄
@@SailingABSea I am in Thailand ( elephant) not had that yet ????? haha
If things keep going the way we've heard they are in Thailand, all animals may soon be on the menu. ☹
Inland trip - hooray! - Those ruins were cool - and the amphitheater looked like the morning after a drunken brawl. If I may - Aannsha's hard work is paying off . She's looking - well you get the idea - I'm a little hesitant to make observations - yet it I'm acknowledging that she's doing a good job. That was awkward - but I hit the comment button anyway. For me this was the perfect episode - the modern mosque - the ancient baths - and the Running Bear reference which I caught right away. Thanks guys - I enjoy your escapes as much as you do.
Quote of the week "the amphitheater looked like the morning after a drunken brawl" 😂
Thank you Murray. I'm blushing 😊 but I appreciate your feedback. After a few struggles since Christmas, I'm back on the keto lifestyle and do find it suits me well. Next, I need to find some enthusiasm to start my daily dance-exercising again! I loved walking round those ruins. You can just imagine what it was like at the time, full of people, can't you?
@@AannshaJones - I hate to sound like a broken record - but I think that's the fun of ancient ruins - imagining the daily life of the people that lived there. Their joy - their happiness - their sorrow - their jilted love - their donkey that just died and now what will they do? It's been 140 generations since 1500 BC - that's a lot of human drama not recorded or remembered.
@@murraywestenskow2896 oh I so understand what you're saying.
What kind of red zone is there? A military one?
We were told that it was because of the coast guard station. ☹
Pretty much everywhere in Turkey is red zone with few green zones, for example flying over entire Istanbul is forbidden:
www.drone.net.tr/blog/iha-ucusa-yasak-bolgeler-listesi-drone-ucurabilecegimiz-yerler-2020-611.html
Tehnically you can only fly in green zones without a flight permission but if your drone is lighter than 500 gr it is allowed as long as you stay away from military or government buildings, airports, stadiums etc. But your drone is heavier than 500 gr i wouldn't recommend flying anywhere at all without permission as there are some nasty fines which might cost more than the drone's worth!! Because terrorist organizations started to use drones heavily such regulations were needed, in fact law says ''maximum taking off weight'' for drone categories not ''drone weight'', considering they could carry payloads so bringing Turkey a 499 gram drone isn't a good idea neither..
So where's the Catholic church
Attendance wasn't that good, so they had to close shop due to lack of income. 😀
A tad hard to find in a secular muslim country. But we did film many Greek orthodox Christian churches when we were in Greece. 😀 ... and there was the Church of St. Nicholas that we visited in our UA-cam Ep. 157!
