It's very hard to fire a coach and within 5 hours able to hire a replacement, let alone doing this during mid season. So the fact Bucks were able to, just shows Doc has been brewing in the background for some weeks.

Doc has probably the worst record in NBA history considering the roster he has had over the years and blowing 3-1 leads. His championship-winning team back in the Stone Ages even said Doc did nothing to help the team, the vets and star players were doing their own thing.

He's not a terrible coach. He's a terrible coach in the postseason in close out situations. He's one hell of a coach in the regular season. His teams ALWAYS were top 2-3 in the conference. I think Dwayne Casey would have been so, so much better. He did a great job with the Raptors before Nick Nurse took it to the next level. He was very defense oriented. Doc has had too many chances with talented teams, maybe this is a win now coaching hire.

I like this team, very basketball oriented, knowledgeable, no silly/goofy gimmicks, just cerebral basketball thoughts.
This group has grown on me. They have their own strengths which I appreciate.
This team might not have the depth of the 08 Celtics but is possibly closest in make up at the top end. No doubt Doc has had his failures but watching his whole Celtics run he seemed pretty on point with his decision making and ability to manage stars. With that group if anything he was derailed by a Garnett injury, questionable front office decisions and really elite competition (peak Dwight Howard Magic, great Kobe+ Gasol LA teams, and Prime Lebron Miami). No guarantees here as the top of the Eastern Conference is pretty intense but I think some folks could be sleeping on Doc and the Bucks

It needs correct time management and coordination, I still can't comprehend how a team that wants to win it all has still a starting center at 35yrs of age and KM at 33 with no knees, how do you expect to maintain khris across the season and play elite defense in the playoffs and BL to still be top center? KM should've been a 6th player by now and brook on the bench.

What’s with the Bucks firing coaches like it’s a hobby or something? Budenholzer won the championship but they fired him for early playoff exit the following season. Griffin is 30-13 but they fired him for losing a couple of winnable games. Even if Doc Rivers (or whoever replaces Griffin) finishes the season with the best record in the nba, unless he wins the whole thing they’ll probably fire him for being left-handed. What a joke.

The offense is going to be there, but certain guys need a fire lit in their hearts to push themselves when the stops are needed. Offense is skill based defense is effort.
