    We have self funded this Trailer to Pitch the full length Documentary to the Public, we hope you will support the making of it, so that we can stand strong with one voice, to Save the Brumbies and work with Government to create healthy management policy for our environment into the future.
    Ever since that iconic scene in The Man from Snowy River, the high country has held a special place in Australia’s heart. Its earthy people, timeless landscapes and unique wildlife are part of our heritage, but they’re now under threat from unfair policies, created in city offices far away from the land itself.
    Save the Brumbies, a 2020 documentary film, explores the impact of these policies and the politics of environmental organisations and state governments around the issue of how to control the wild Brumbies. These beautiful creatures are a symbol of the history and rawness of the region and the film looks at various environmental concerns, ideas on proper population control and the real invasive species, like pigs and wild dogs.
    With the Benambra Buck Runners, a group of passionate, committed mountain men and women, we explore the techniques and skills of the traditional methods of wild horse management and the most ethical ways to keep this unique breed safe and controlled.
    The documentary seeks to capture the whole story of the Brumbies and also stake its claim as a true account of life in the high country, creating an archive for future generations to stay connected with this special place we call home.
    Please support us to bring this important story to life.

I appreciate what your doin and you have God's blessings upon you and Tennessee's horse lovers support. God bless you, hope you get the city and the government out of the picture. I fully agree with other introduced spices & ski resorts etc also having an environmental impact to the park but the wild horses are also part of that issue as well and something has to be done about it, their numbers have only grown & have had a larger effect upon the park so something needs to change. Can't just be tied down to romantic idolatry

      The brumby numbers have not grown and are at extinction levels. The method used to calculate numbers was based on sighting brumbies and multiplying that number by the total land volume. This results in a gross exaggeration of brumby numbers as brumbies do not exist across the total land volume.

      @@judymedway3294 One of the main ways humans cause damage to the landscape is through the invasive species we have introduced. We brought them here so we have a responsibility to manage them. The survey method uses an international and Australian aerial standard for large animals. It is not controversial. The survey count was based upon observations in 4 blocks of the national park which made up only 40% of the land area. Areas not surveyed were assumed to have zero horses. The estimate of 14,000 is an underestimate if anything. The information and survey method is also freely available as opposed to black magic numbers that the likes of Peter Cochrane pull out of their arse.

    Seen a few people comment about why we should save these Horses as they are not native. I think they might want to remember that this country we live on as it is today would not be in our hands. With out the Thousands upon Thousands of these animals that not only help to make the foundation for how we live today but carried our fighters into battle and lost their lives during the war. So how about instead of making comments about Cane toads.... That did nothing for our society... We remember what these animals have done. FOR US.

    Sonia, as usual the bureaucrats in Spring Street have not undertaken adequate research to determine a reliable figure for the numbers of brumbies in the high country. Furthermore there is more damage being done by the wild pigs, deer, foxes and wild (hybrid) dogs than by the brumbies. I have seen brumbies in the wild and they are magnificent animals. If their numbers are excessive, then the government should first try to round them up and tame them for resettlement in an good home where they will be well looked after. Aerial culling is the worst method anyone could employ. I support your initiative and I'm sure many Australians would support you as well.

    A lot of the brumby supports go back to the early settlers of Colonial Australia. The brumbies are part of their cultural heritage. The brumbies have been in the high country for over 160 years, way before national parks existed. The high country deserve to be in on the conversation to preserve and save our brumbies from government actions of killing when there are humane methods for relocation, rescue, sanctuary already implemented and waiting for government to step up and support them in humane brumby management. This issue could so easily be a win win for all if only goverment would listen to the will of the people and not be so blinded by greens and discrimination. It is time for the Australian government to become more humane in it's treatment towards animals and the people who support the brumby cause. The brumbies are heritage horses, some of the oldest pure bloodlines of wild horse are carried in the DNA of our brumbies. It is a crime to kill them when there are so many humane options available to save them while acknowledging the recent wishes of national parks for brumby removal. Work with the rescues, sanctuaries, rehomes. Slaughter, shooting, killing are cruel, inhumane and barbaric methods belonging to the history books. It is time government took responsible humane approaches working with the people who know the brumbies, have worked beside them for over a centuary, generation to generation. Government needs to admit it is not the authority on knowledge, the rescues, sanctuaries and high country people are. Government could stop spending public money on trying to justifying their killing of brumbies and give this to the brumby rescues, sanctuaries, adopting a proactive approach to working with the brumby supporters who have the best interests of the brumbies at heart.

    • @Sebadoh95
      @Sebadoh95 2 роки тому +1

      And believe or not, all of the currently threatened native fauna and vegetation communities were also here before national parks. And Europeans…160 years is bloody meaningless in any context other than several generations of humans hung up on a bloody poem and an overriding desire to tame nature
