If you have galaxy watch you can also trigger routines when watch detects you're asleep. I have it set to turn off fast charging, AOD and all the lights in home and turn on power saving
When my phone connects to car by bluetooth it automatically creates hotspot for car. My navigation then uses online traffic information and chooses besf route for me. Very useful for everyday commuting to school, work, not only for big rides. I have been using this for more than 3 years and cant think of driving a car without it
You can make a routine to disable fingerprints during the night or when it detects you are sleeping to keep partners from using you fingerprint in your sleep

One clever hack I got from other videos is for the Protect battery. Just create a routine where, if battery level is more than or equal to 99% and charging status is charging, then turn on protect battery. The battery will stop charging at 99%. That way you don't have to ever worry about missing that 15% charge when you normally use the protect battery option.

The WIFI routine doesn't seem to like me as the phone still locks even with the phone 2 foot from my router. Smart lock does work, sometimes. I have a strong WIFI as I can walk outside to the curb and it's still connected. The RSSI is 31dbm.

Depends on the routine itself. If for example you have one based on location then it will constantly poll your location to check against the place you set as the trigger point. For more basic routines like sensors on/off, time of day, etc. there is close to no battery loss.

If I understand your question correctly, in my case, I have my home wifi put as always on (autoconnect) and so is my data. so when home, it autoconnects to wifi. once I leave home and couldn't detect home wifi, the data takes over.

I have the same issue, however the routine still works with Samsung Pay and Curve. It worked originally with Google Wallet but for some unknown reason it stopped working. I posted the problem on the help section for Google Wallet. Please do the same (under "feedback" in the Google Wallet/Pay app.

The second one seems clever, but most likely if you’re in a coffee shop or wherever, you’re likely no longer connected to your car’s Bluetooth ,so WiFi protect won’t be on.

I have talked at length with Samsung techs, but it is a Google app, one of the bloat ware that comes with the phone. It is one of the more useful for me. Can someone that is Samsung settings savvy, tell me how to write a routine is settings that creates a button on the Home screen that, with one click, it opens Settings, then Display, then turns off then back on Edge Panel. Something I can click one my edge panel gets reset, that us, made available to use it. If I click SETTINGS>DISPLAY > Toggle OFF > Toggle ON, the Edge Panel reappears. Then, when I execute an app from the Edge Panel, like open FB, UA-cam TV, MAIL, Edge Panel disappears. Going through the routine layed out above.I discover Edge Panel is still toggled on, but doesn't display until I turn it off and then back on. TIA should you write a routine I can implement.😊
Apple does have something similar called "Shortcuts". I used it when I had an iPhone. I switched to Samsung after a few weeks, Android is so much more flexible!!!

This is why most people use Iphones! The customization is WAY beyond most people and prefer the clunky simple interface! Many people have NO desire or the know how to live in the Android world and just want to use apps in their simplest forms and have Apple track their ever move and how much apps are used. You're wrong. Apple will literally ask you the first time you launch an app if you want the app to be able to track your activity. Android does not do that. Apple also has shortcuts which is similar to routines.

This is what I keep. my DND settings have exceptions to receive calls from family or repeat callers. More sensible this way.

Nice, but in the youtube and netflix routine i add 60hz refreshrate to save on power, because you dont really need 120
But the fps are adaptable, in the ultra goes from 1 to 120hz, if netflix streams at 30hz, that is what the screen will show you

Yes, there's a routine called Wifi strength which let's you set it to automatically turn off at 1 bar, 2 bar etc.

You can do multiple actions with one click using Modes but I don't think you will be able to disable apps with that

Delay "turn on NFC" by some seconds. Add an action from advanced options called "wait before next action" then add "turn on NFC".

You're wrong. Apple will literally ask you the first time you launch an app if you want the app to be able to track your activity. Android does not do that. Apple also has shortcuts which is similar to routines.
