    You are so correct on everything you said.
    Footings are NEVER to chipped out or messed with.
    Water almost always percolates up from under the slab, so the lower the drain the better.
    Nice work sir. Definitely worth doing a this correctly the first and only time if basement water is a problem.
    You earned a new sub. 👍

      Couple questions....the 4" drain at the end of video wasn't the ADS corrugated shown at beginning of video. Why different? Also, how thick is the new concrete being poured? It looks less than 4" thick. Also, how many clean out ports do you install? Is it one per wall or just one total? How would you access that port if that basement were finished & had expensive flooring put down? Thanks.

People like you are greatly appreciated in today's world of people out for the fast buck. If it's worth doing, it's worth doing right and doing it right the first time.

    I am in the process of getting quotes, there is a ton of these “franchise” guys as you call them. My basement is very small, all the quotes are insanely expensive so far and none have this big trench with 4” pipe which is clearly the industry standard sold at lowes and home depot in giant rolls. I want a real trench with real pipes going into a sump pit- like a normal house should have! I will keep getting quotes until I find a good contractor! I reached out to your company today as well, thanks for putting these videos up!

    Hey man, thanks for your videos. A question I have, I noticed in your videos that you use the blue corrugated in some and the white pvc in others. Do you have a preference? Would you suggest one over the other? Also, as far as placement of the pipe, I’ve seen videos where they suggest keeping the pipe low in the ditch, some with even no stone below it just fabric. I guess to avoid water pooling beneath the pipe. I see yours are a little closer to the top. Just wondering your opinion on that. Again, thanks a lot. Appreciate you taking the time.

      I like the width of the trench but I think he should have struck a line and wet sawed the line cutting into the cement perhaps a inch or so then went back and jack hammered the cement making for a straight line all the way around the basement. Does that make sense ? Also the plastic that lays on the pipe and over to the wall looks kind of cheap. Does not look heavy gauge like some products I have seen on the market. I think a more ridged solid piece of plastic bridging across would be better . I think there is one out there called Dimond plate or something like that ,which looks very firm and solid .

    • @premierbasementwaterproofi9106
      @premierbasementwaterproofi9106  4 роки тому +1

      @@gregoryp9217 saw cutting looks better upon finish, but leads to cracking. The vapor barrier we use is probably the highest grade polyethylene on the market. It's true 20 mill cord reinforced. You're lucky to get 12 with most companies. You couldn't rip that poly if you tried.

    I'm not doubting this system works but his is a legitimate question. The water will run along the bottom of the ditch, it will only reach the pipe if there is a lot of water, it won't wait to run until it reaches the pipe. Will this cause erosion?

      That pipe takes more water than traditional ADS smooth. That isn't ordinary corrugated pipe. We still use regular 4" in certain situations. High Iron content etc. Both pipes do the job.

      Thanks for the reply. We have a 1910 House, two areas get mildly wet and I want to waterproof. Was thinking of taking on the job myself after seeing about 100 tutorial videos on UA-cam. I keep hearing different opinions about PVC vs corrugated and can’t decide. Also is the standard plumbing pitch of 1/8” per foot apply? Or can it be level across the whole thing? To me having it graded seems less important than just below the top of the footer. If it’s corrugated in any way, I don’t see how pitch helps.
