Good God, the rhythm section is dialed in! Horn players are ridin' that wave. Claffy: tone, intonation, forward momentum, rhythmic variety and harmonic/melodic awareness in his support and solo lines...Everyone sounds fantastic! They play together, as a unit; everyone shines...Thanks for posting this! P.S. Farnsworth, always sharp and dapper!😎
Omg she sound like Coltrane before the 60s. So nice, it's pretty rare to have a saxophonist refering to this period of him. Most of the time they prefer to refer to the post Giant Steps/A Love Suprem period.
She does indeed and she also has the sheets of sound thing that she conjures up at will when she feels like it. I just saw a tune she did on the Miki Yamanaka live steam, that made all that quite evident.
Great performance as always. I would like you to release live albums (not only this group) on streaming, too. I think every video you upload sounds great.
Such a tight group! Can’t wait to check out more of their stuff! Great transitions between solos, maintaining intensity sometimes and other times coming down and changing the vibe. Really engaging performance of 16mins of music that didn’t feel too long at all!
One day, when the covid madness is far behind us, viewers will wonder what are those useless masks and fiberglass shields... Even more strange that musicians are at a good distance from each other and facing opposite ways... This said, the playing is excellent. Great rendition !
I dont give q fuck about the careless whisper quote. I care what came before the quotation. That shit 2as far hotter than quoting some suck ass musical quote of a recognizable song loved by millions. 5:51
This bass player is out of this world!! Brilliant solo!! Marvelous playing with drums!!
Now thats an innovative jazz saxophonist.

Back again! This group's chemistry just doesn't get old.
I had to listen to this again Nicole. You just tore this tune apart. A perfect solo to me.

@@andthatstea in this video I believe it’s a Gamut Gut G, Sprio AD, and a Labella Gold Nylon E. Back to all steels now!!!
I hear some Charles Lloyd in that sax, however, a very individual and unique sound. I love it!!!

To me it sounds like Nicole glover plays like trane in 61 and 62 tbh.
Even if I adore Coltrane, I have to admid that her sound is better than Trane's regardless pre or after 60s.

I’m glad someone else mentioned this, she sounds just like Coltrane! She’s my favorite modern sax player.
I have a hard time understanding why sounding like someone else is desirable in this music?!?
