Thanks for your great review of the Salvinos Jr. '71 Richard Petty Plymouth. I have 2 of these kits that I haven't opened yet and since you opened your kit, I can see what will be inside this kit thanks to you.
Pick yourself up one of their chargers. Their best kit. With the road runner your bumpers give you the choice of building a 71’ or 72’. The engine is fairly generic, as they used them in all their dodge, Chevy and Olds kits. The extra parts are to make the engine a small block after the hemi was banned. After you clean up chassis, use it as a jig to build your cage. It goes together great. There’s 4 locating pins & holes in the 2 chassis pans, make sure you get it in the right hole or it’ll throw off your wheel base. As is, with no axle blocks the car will have a nice positive rake. If you want the rear lower for a speedway car look, use 1 block on the suspension. I cut small pieces of tubing to move my tires out about 1mm. I grind down the thick fender wells so tires come out a little farther to get it to look better. Other than that, just watch the steps, as the instructions aren’t the best. They’re getting better, but can be confusing in some steps. The main disappointment is the generic chassis doesn’t fit the body. If your a stickler for details you’ll need to add styrene on both sides of chassis and the rear. I modify the crap out of mine with styrene.😄 I’ve built around 30 of there old stock cars. Good luck bud. If your stuck and need something, message me and I’ll help where I can.👍👍
This is great information, I really appreciate that. I did notice the thickness on those wheel well right away. I'll def want these tires almost scraping the fenders. Great tip. I'll keep an eye out for a Charger kit.
Great unboxing Pat, I don't know much about any kit I build, unless I owned or new someone who owned one. So I'll be of no help. But I agree, that's why I like revelle, they have a parts description list. It does look like a great kit regardless
Sweet. Excellent unboxing. I’ve yet to get one of their kits but I’d like to at some point. Not a huge nascar guy but I think one of these would be a fun one. Those metallics in the gray sometimes don’t mix well and then you get some weird colorations and swirls. It’s cool that they mold them that way in the different colors for if someone couldn’t paint them but it does make for some odd looking plastics. I’d still like to build one. Of course some of their kits are just old Monogram tool too and I’ve already built those. I do have their brand new Indy car pre ordered. Decals are stunning. Nice video Pat!!
Thanks Kyle. The details on the newer ones are nice. I need to figure out what kits are worth it. Cause I'd like a couple more. They are pricey so i want to make sure i get the right ones. Not a big Nascar guy either, but this era of racecars were cool.
@@cardzscaledreams3917 exactly my issue. I know some are the old monograms so I don’t want to necessarily pay top dollar for those and I’ve heard some of their early efforts on their own we’re not fantastic. I think the Charger is supposed to be pretty nice. I just need to check into it more, like you said.

@@doozersmodels3193 I have to convince myself at the price they charge for them.
I am with you there… they are expensive specially regarding the re-pops of the old Monograms that people can’t give away for $5

@@kyledehartsscaleworks yes. I hear the Charger is the better of them. I'm sure there are other unboxings on here.
@@cardzscaledreams3917 ah still. This one looks like a fun build anyways.
@kyledehartsscaleworks it should, def won't be a Mark Batson masterpiece but ya 😂
Bad sinkmarks on some parts!Especially the rear bumpers!
I really noticed them on the cage too...thanks.
