I finished "Im a Virgo" and it was pretty cool. It was Gulliver's Travels x Blindspotting x Terry Gilliam x Adult Swim. I liked the cameos including Elijah Wood and Moishe Kasher who is a stand-up comedian from Oakland. The Parking Ticket animation scenes were cool.
I randomly watched this series going in blind, never heard of it, didn’t read the description. By the halfway mark of the first episode I was into it. As I binged the next episodes (on herbals) it had me laughing pretty good!
I enjoyed it..definitely weird but I wouldn’t say it had “alot of sex”….there was literally one sex scene in one episode of a series that has 7 ‘hour’ long episodes
@@Crit7k and what are you telling me this for… I’m not debating whether the scene should or should not have been in the series…my comment is to clarify what the reviewer said…the reviewer said there was a lot of sex in this series and that’s not true….y’all desperately be looking for people on the internet to argue with and it’s really weird. ….there was one sex scene in a series of 7 episodes…that’s not a lot of sex …Game of thrones and several other series have a lot of sex and RAPE and scenes that don’t make sense and have no point other than shock value and this is not one of those series
I find it weird that this is the second time I posted this comment and for some reason you TROLLS keeping finding your way under my comment to argue … are y’all ok? There’s nothing to argue about..maybe get therapy …what I said is valid..there is only one sex scene in a series that has 7 episodes each almost an hour long….statistically the one sex scene this series has isn’t even 1% of the content … I don’t care if you don’t like the scene ..my original comment isn’t debating that…I don’t care if you didn’t see any purpose in the scene ..again my original comment isn’t debating that…so the fact that y’all keep coming to tell me that proves u just want to argue because my comment doesnt mention any of the stuff y’all trying to argue about… I can tell some of y’all have a underlying bias and I’m pretty sure I know what that underlying bias is🤨🙄
Some blind spots throughout the storyline, but the originality gets you going. I'm new to the channel, great content. 'Fired in Mars' is another hidden gem out there.
LOL... No hang on to your seats because this is peak irony: SyFy put out a TV show called The Expanse based on the book of the same name. In this story the Earth is polluted and AI/automation has made a mandatory basic income a necessity. Tired of Earth's problems the academic and elite led to the colonization of Mars. Mars being Mars, Martians had to labor and innovate for their survival and say "lazy Earthlings" as foreign dictators. However, with Earth depleted and Mars baren, the asteroid belt became a source of mining for water and minerals. Eventually, entire generations were born on the asteroid belt having never stepped foot on a planet or moon. Mars became technologically advanced and declared its independence, while Earth maintained its overwhelming numbers. The "belters" people with no nation (or planet) were paid low wages and forced to work less the Martians or Earthlings ration their oxygen and water. Obviously workers rights, living wages, and work conditions play a major role in this story. The show was awesome and cancelled. Until Jeff Bezos personally got the show on Amazon Prime. That wasn't ironic enough Bezos himself flew into (almost) space on a private craft, and returned to Earth to discuss his revelation of an outer-space workforce. All I can say is something, something, spoilers... WTAF? peak irony.
maybe i was in the wrong mood but i didn’t like it that much. we get a show about a 13-foot black man in oakland with a superhero side plot and it turns into a depressing heavy handed social commentary show 🤦🏾♂️ its like as a black man even our new “fun” shows ain’t fun, they lure you in with the laughs on the first couple eps then it just gets depressing. won’t say it was bad but yeah i wasn’t in the mood for it, maybe i’ll appreciate it later.
Hey. It was brilliant writing, storytelling, and directing,. It is delightful, insightful, innovative, surprising, and one of the most thoughtful comedies around. Like Gulliver's Travels, by Johnathan Swift, it plays with satire, fantasy, and parody. The political, social, literary, and historical parallels are uncanny. Loved it. Where is season 2, and then 3,4, and 5 . . .I give it 5 stars. It deserves first-rate reviews.
The show has a weird unique style... Someone called it Spike Lee meets Wes Anderson. I think the show is closer to a 4 out of 5 unless you're into high art or cinematography then it's a 4.5 or 5.
This show proves that most of the "review bombing" excuses from studios are hype. This was a really good show, despite it blatantly pushing hyperbolic and mostly fabricated, extremist, political rhetoric. People are willing to watch something that is well made, even if the thesis is somewhat dubious.
I have to disagree with you or question if you understood what was happening. Hyperbole aside, fabricated and extremist? No absolutely not. My Mom said if I don't have a job I go directly to jail.... I don't know what race you are but this is Black (and possibly other marginalized groups) thing. Parents using hyperbole without context (making it a lie) to control their child's behavior. This is a reoccurring theme and we see how it harms Cootie and his trust in/relationship with his parents. There are a bunch of other subtle but true things that you might not believe if you're not black, or impoverished, or in some other marginalized group. Okay there are two places where like Flora, you make a good point, but I disagree. The Scat/Hospital scene: a for-profit hospital will turn away the uninsured. However, if you have been impaled clearly you are also bleeding. Scat should have had a less obviously fatal injury. Jones and The Crisis of Capitalism: TLDR; Jones' speech about profit, wages, prices, and growth was not wrong. However, that self-defeating cycle is not a direct result of Capitalism. Publicly traded US Capitalism yes, but not literally all forms of Capitalism. Outside of the ongoing lies by the parents which was intended to be hyperbolic, and the two issues I mentioned which is more like a difference of semantics, there are no fabrications or extremism in the show. I openly invite you to point out such a scene.
Good Lord talk about "social commentary" being shoved down the viewer's throat. Your review makes it seem like it's not like that, however, it was really forced. The show is completely one-sided and many topics are cherry picked without having any type of debate or different point of view. I forced myself to finish it and it was not good. 3/10.
I'm always happy to see something creative and different actually being made. I'm definitely going to be recommending this to friends.

The one sec scene went on for so long for literally no reason other than just to have it in the show.

I loved this show. Everything about it
The show has good ideas but a lot of bad ones mixed in. I won’t miss it if it doesn’t get another season but might try it if it does

Yes. This is weird. Reminds me of late 80s and 90s weird movies (ex Edward scissorhands). Im shocked you watched this one.
