I’m new to your channel and I just want to say the realness ( swearing ) lol is much appreciated. I’m a 67 year old woman married 50 years with 7 grown children and 5 grandchildren. It’s honestly refreshing.
I absolutely love this series. So I made my own roulette and I’ve introduced it to my kids for room tasks and it’s like a game!! Thank you for motivating me!!
How about using your advent decluttering approach to the games. Make a bowl with all the game names in them and each time you play games, you also pick one by taking a piece of paper from the bowl. Makes it an additional game to get through all the games at least once.
I hope you’re planning on doing a home walk through at the end so we can see the overall difference that decluttering a little every day makes. Also hear if there are any challenges with maintaining.
That’s what I want to see too. I have been so impressed with your hard work. That really is a huge townhouse and I e been trying to figure out the layout. I went back and watched one of your videos from last year and your son reminds me so much of mine when he was that age. That around 8 to eleven years old was my favorite with my boys. The best years of my life!
I love this series. Thank you for standing up for your husband and marriage (seriously WTF!!). The more I see you, the more I love you. Behind you lady!
You should keep all the little slips. Once you finish all of them restart by drawing one slip a month and cleaning that area again. This would help as a maintenance option
I’m thinking of just switching to numbers in the bowl, then I can make a numbered list of whatever needs cleaning/organized without having to make little tickets. I already have bingo numbers that would totally work 😂
I remember decluttering my 4 sons' toys every year around Christmas time when they were young. One year I was sorting out all their toy soldiers and throwing all the broken ones away until I was told that I couldn't do that because they were the wounded 😂
I love that cart you have, and it looks amazing now. And it must feel so good to have a home for the snail farm now! And how many kids will get some amazing new games/toys for Christmas thanks to your decluttering ❤
I have a mountain of donations inside the house still (you’ll see in tomorrow’s video) but the car is getting full again! So another trip to the thrift store is on my to-do list for today or tomorrow 😁
Not only did my grandma have your dining table in blue, she had the bar cart in white! It lived in her kitchen my entire childhood and held her mixer, mixing bowls and toaster. For a long time I thought it was built into the wall. When my aunt remodeled the kitchen it was so weird to see it without the cart.
You could sell those deck of cards to crafter as they will use them in their art. The game cart turned out better. I need to go through our games and puzzles again soon. Great decluttering video as always!
I'm wondering if you can make family night a certain night of the week and then use the fishbowl for games puzzle movie things of that kind of nature or going and getting ice cream or something like that it could be really fun to use a fishbowl.
I have a games shelf in my hall closet because I envisioned playing games with Jordan all the time 😂😂😂😂! Hasn’t happened. I think it’s time to pass them along. Thanks for the reminder.
I helped raise my nephew's full time for a decade. I have 12 little wooden crates that my cousin made me over two decades ago.. keep in mind I move every year year and a half I've lived in bachelors in one one bedroom in 23 years. one holds photo albums, Legos, one holds music, one holds gaming stuff, one holds accessories for random stuff around the house like batteries for toys, lights light bulbs for certain things ect. We have about 24 board games in one little crate. I don't like taking stuff out of their original boxes but with how rough the kids can get and how often we use them they do get kind of shabby and broken down.. with that being said we have not lost any pieces thank the gods.. I've never had to declutter either.. which I'm kind of grateful for. Because I also have a disability I need things to be on my level as well so the kids have grown up with that and we have a system called throw and go and put in run as my nephew's like to say and that way there's no problems finding things, everything is functional. Is it aesthetically pleasing know I don't think a house is made to be a show home. It's meant to be lived in, and enjoyed. Yes it has to stay clean but it's not going to be Instagram, Pinterest worthy. I think people forget that. Good job with the gaming declutter! PS I love that Gary and his friends have a cleaner space. pps For the last decade the kids have bought me Harry Potter Mugs and I use them for the craft cart. So I put paint brushes in one coloring pencils in the other etc it's a three little tier cart and that works for us.
Don’t you wish All games with boards folded into quarters so you could have a stack of square, smaller boxes? Also, while I’m on a rant, why do $2.00 Butter cookies come in a tin,but $20.00 puzzles come in a flimsy box!?!?!?!?😵💫😖🙄
New Subscriber, sent by Beth at FeralTradwife. I love your channel! Currently haunting your videos, basically going to be watching them for a while. BETH SAYS: You cannot have her birthday. I posted this on other videos but, want to be sure to start a battle here, lol. I love the vintage rolling cart/bar cart. My mom gave me hers that was in similar if not worse condition, and I used it for a few years. Then, I got rid of it in one of my moves and I have regretted it ever since. These carts ( she called it a tea cart) are so handy! A little spray paint like Rustoleum would work wonders if you ever wanted to do that. I just covered mine with placemats or doilies, what have you… don’t get rid of it, it’s cool and handy. Your toy and game area came out great!!!
Hey, we have the same Star Wars Puzzle, I think 😊 And also a advent’s calendar with puzzles. tbh, we have waaaayyyy more board games and Puzzles (for us and the kids) than you have. But I also noticed that the kids struggle a lot getting rid of board games they actually outgrew. It’s more the Funtime we had with them than the actual game they like. But we really play a lot of these games. There area few more complex adult boardgames we very seldomly have time to play, but otherwise we certainly play or puzzle three times a week, mostly with sometimes without kids. I am really looking forward to the Christmas break to play, do our science boxes and puzzles.
Yeah I definitely think they’re more attached to the games and less likely to want to let them go because it’s such a fun family activity! Which makes me feel good, that means they like playing the games together as much as we do 🥰
I've just recycled MY childhood (mid-1970's) Cluedo, complete with scorecards in my dad's handwriting and covered with sticky-back plastic so they could written on with chinagraph pencils and wiped clean; no home laminator, no printer, no computers...I have kept the room cards and framed the set, so not quite ready to completely let that part of my inner child go! I have a Christmas games night scheduled with my two 30-something sons and spouses - SO looking forward to it! (No grandchildren to date...) GARY?!
Gary is Beau’s pet snail… he was the first one he got and the most special one. But he has accumulated a few other friends and those friends have made babies… so yeah there’s like a dozen little snails in there lol
@ But GARY?! Mind you, The Magic Roundabout snail was named Brian…Many moons ago, my younger was given a stick insect. One. Apparently it doesn’t always take two to tango; within weeks there were dozens. Even as adults, they still love all creatures great and small. I’m so enjoying my window on your world! Thank you Jamie.
Regarding the cart and not liking the look. Could you use a tray, with edges, to corral the bagged games? If there's space, it might be easier to pull out when deciding what to play and not have bags all over.
I’d like to find a basket that fits in that shelf, but I also have a plan in the back of my mind for the future where I don’t use the cart for games at all anymore. So we’ll see 😂
Just a warning about leaving puzzles out with cats...some of my kitties have had a love for stealing and chewing on the pieces. I even went to the lengths of covering them with a table cloth and they would go under it to get at them. By no means trying to discourage you, but destroyed puzzle pieces can cause a good amount of frustration.
Also, I would love to learn more about this snail habitat. I used to have a cat named Gary after Spongebob's meowing snail. My toddler loves to watch fish at the pet store, but mom isn't interested in cleaning a fish tank on the regular.
@@adriennenelson759 haha that is precisely why I need one of those zippered puzzle cases, the cats haven’t found the Christmas puzzle thus far, but if they do it’s all over lol… And the snails are suuuuper easy to take care of. You just give them organic vegetable and fruit scraps and there is also a snail food you mix with water into a paste. The biggest thing is not giving them anything with pesticides on it since those are intended to kill snails specifically. And if you have more than one adult they mate and you get like 50 tiny baby snails 😂 last year the boys’ elves had to take the babies to the North Pole so that the other elves could all have pet snails 🤣
@@Jamie_Chaotic I had a snail takeover in my fish tank ages ago. I ended up purchasing fish that ate them. It was insane how many there were. They came in on a live plant I put in the tank.
Morning! I bought one of those Gamenote Puzzle Boards and honestly, we use it so often it just lives on our ottoman full time. It has a removable mat that is (also wipeable) and covers the full board. It is perfect for Lego builds, games, puzzles, art projects, charcuterie platters, etc. It was such a good investment! Also, maybe you could start buying an ornament when you visit places while on vacation. Our tree is full of ornaments from places we've loved visiting and it sounds cheesy, but it's so nice to remember those trips together every year when we decorate the tree.
:) Absolutely love your videos! They're so fun! As a side note, I'd like to bring up the idea of some triggering vocab. "Purge" can have so many negative mental health associations, especially for eating disorders. I'm not here to tell you what to do or say, but a lot of time people are completely unaware when something they say can be harmful, so I thought I'd give bringing it up a shot. Please take care!

Fantastic job!
Great video!!! I’m seriously considering doing the roulette method….
And it reminds me I have a ton of games!
So much better!!!
I was actually VERY impressed with the “Before” photos of the kids toy closet!👍
Thanks! It’s been a work in progress for some time now. It has looked much better in the past and needs a good purge.

I think it would really be cool if you ask them what they'd like to add to the fishbowl.
Another great session the difference is amazing 😁❤️🇬🇧

It was from Ikea probably close to 20 years ago so I don’t think they still have them haha but a pair of matching new ones would look nice
