  • Nietzsche's Master vs Slave Morality is a brilliant observation of Human Nature. When you understand it, you see it show up in so many places. One of the best is in the innocence of High School Drama, where Nerds and Jocks compete for success.

It's more likely that all "jocks" are failed "artists". It's very easy to destroy. Even chimpanzees make weapons to bash in the brains of their rivals. To create, however, requires "the higher faculties".

Was a bit of a bitch/loser in high school. Manned up through my early 20s to where I am now. Capable physically, speak my mind, can actually socialize, am not driven by resentment and can think for myself and decide for myself. I don’t go looking for fights but I’ve sure as shit developed the courage to confront people when they need to be confronted and I now have the balls to say what’s on my mind, knowing that saying it will land me in hot water with others.
In short, I’ve slowly learned and developed myself to be able to actually live. Still got a ways to go but damn do I wish I knew half the things I do now when I was back in high school, oh well.

@@uberboyo You're now on a very short list of philosophy and psychology youtubers, whom I respect. The list includes Gravemind and Einzelganger.
A moment of your time, if you will.
I am designated by life as a loser. My solution is vengeance, but non-lethal, causing no physical or mental pain whatsoever.
I wish to help destroy society in its present form, to invalidate the mediocre values of the mediocre people that rejected and marginalized me consistently my whole life. I will achieve this by helping to replace its pseudo-values with values of actual worth and substance through hijacking parts of its popular culture as vectors of viral transmission.
I will do this through adventure and fantasy novels I have in the works. The current culture s*cks, and it's no use whining about it. So we must replace it. We must BECOME THE CULTURE. With my work, my values, as part of this new wave, which is already happening.
Values which include all the best and most vital ones out there - traditional gender roles, blood and soil, traditionalism, modesty, meritocracy, ethnocentrism. The values which created the likes of Greek mythology and Jules Verne, two critical influences of my early life.
When the pseudo-culture of mediocrity that created and motivated those that made me suffer lies broken, replaced by the values that shaped me, then I will be at peace. Then I will have had my revenge.
Stacy is irrelevant. I refuse to allow her s-ex appeal to control me. I refuse to resort to deviations as an alternative. I refuse to compete with Chad, my rival, in the arenas where he is strong, where he has the upper hand.
I refuse to play by the rules of the game which guarantees my defeat. I play my own game, by my own rules, and win by my own standards, rather than by those of a society whom I despise.
It rejected me, so I reject it. It sought to mutilate me in its own image. Instead, I will uplift it, to match mine.
This is my solution. A bit of heroism, a bit of deviousness, and lots of well-managed rage. These are the depths and peaks of my mind.

@@mirceazaharia2094 Can I receive informations about your works please? I would be very interested. Two major things you sould consider also, realize that you just perfectly described what according to Nietzsche works is the mentality of the weak, now consider this....the people that created the pseudo-culture of mediocrity that managed to damage you were weak themselves and had your mentality, so they wanted to create this mediocre pseudo-culture to make you a failure like them, who could have been otherwise strong and victorious, if you act and succeed with this framework of reference in mind you will just cause more cultural de-evolution and other people after you that YOU will have made weak, will overthrow your hard(but undesirable) work, so now you could tell me "But internet stranger, I truly want to make our culture better! I am not doing it for the sake of egoism!" and I would say well ok, but then at least ask yourself constantly wheter the cultural elements and values you promote are really that useful for human development or not, so what I mean is pay more attention to those who think differently than you than to those who think alike, for example by what you explained in your comment I can imagine you are part of the radical right, very well, those things maybe are worth a chance and could bring to a better word, wheter you like that or not, it is still debatable, and needs to be carefully debated before being implemented, and nobody loses by debating and discarding things that don't make sense, let's take for example "traditional gender roles", now let's assume that yes there are indeed some positive things a society could obtain and conserve by having this element as a part of itself, very well, but now...with "traditional gender roles" we should be very careful, because the argument that gets often made by their proposers is that they are "natural" and the argument that gets made by their abolishers is that they are "oppressive and socially constructed", now both of this things are just partially true, yet people who promote both sides get crazy when you make them notice that because they are not really interested in "making the world better" but they are interested in trying to satisfy their need for self-realization by identifying themselves with large movements of a political nature because they are weak people and they couldn't satisfy the self-realization that the jock in the video achieved so effortlessly by themselves, so they internalize the movement and his political arguments into themselves as part of their identity in such a way that a victory of the movement or of the arguments of the movement is vital for their wellbeing, the problem with this you ask? It is an enemy of truth. And to create better values we need to understand the truth about the civilizations and world in wich this values are to be implemented. So basically keep hearing from people you don't like, anyway can you link me your works if they are already public?

We didn't have much for sports programs, small town. I knew it was all stupid and fought it tooth and nail for years, though nobody in my family stood up for me. So yeah it got to me and I withdrew, became more of a suicidal artist type.
I've reclaimed my masculine spirit and stopped making music because I'm not repressed anymore.
Real shame, I'd have made a great soldier like I wanted to and would have gotten into entrepreneurship much earlier. Having graduated High school still rather recently. The common image of the nerd-jock dialectic didn't really exist. Sure there were jocks and nerds, but what I find weird is that the jock in reality doesn't really match up with how a jock is depicted in fiction for example. Jocks aren't "masters", they are slaves in master's clothing. Quite literally as well. We aren't ruled by jocks, we are ruled by little bugmen like Bill gates and Jeff Bezos. In my experience, when it came down to it, jocks were just as slave-like as nerds, just in a different way. I was neither, had my differences with both. I was never an asshole, and I was never weak. I don't think you need to choose between being strong, and being smart/artistic/intellectual. This is usually a cringe line when people use it, but this is the 21st century. This is outdated. You need to balance both. Transcend the dialectic, that's what real strength looks like.

You gain nothing by doing so, and put yourself at great risk in the process. This isn't 1100BC where you can love her and leave her with no consequences. The notion of “all artists being failed jocks” is completely absurd. Youths are exposed to both the arts and competitive sports at around similar ages, I don’t believe that kids look to the arts in search of trying to redeem themselves for their failure, kids are drawn to the arts because that’s what they enjoy. Some children have a desire to draw or write stories or music from a young age, especially if they have family that do the same. They discover their talent and fulfillment in that and pursue it because thats where their drive comes from, not from needing to make up for not winning in competitive sports. If anything, the jocks use their aggressive behavior thats reinforced by their competitive nature to create a social hierarchy to keep their sense of being on top in their life as much as possible. Artists aren’t (always) people who have failed and are looking for a crafty new way to try and get laid, they’re just people who value creativity and ideas and have a thirst to keep searching for more, instead of trying to find ways of climbing up the social ladder. This whole point of view is just wack lmao

    • @117Industries
      @117Industries Рік тому

You put this across much better than I did, but your sentiments echo my own as I watched this video. You’re bang on about kids exploring creativity from a very early age too. They develop this capacity, if they have it, before they realise their relative physical or social standing. And it gets fairly concretely set from then. This obviously completely disintegrates his narrative. A well established corpus of child psychology just doesn’t agree with his stereotype, despite their being some truth to it as a general observation.

    • @Aisatsana1971
      @Aisatsana1971 Рік тому +1

Issue with this is that not all variants of creativity are acceptable in schools. I was deeply creative, but that meant I didn’t bother listening to the teacher when I was around 7 years of age. I just drew. I loved drawing planets, or ancient buildings, or geometric landscapes. It wasn’t long until I was put in special ed class because I just didn’t seem like I wanted to learn, when in reality I just didn’t care about religious education or children’s books. They weren’t interesting to me.
My enjoyment of education was fully nullified by the time I had finished primary schools, and my main sources of entertainment were art, music, and video games, just like every average dude, except I went deeply into that direction and just never cared about socialising myself. I did it anyway because people took interest in me, and I never wanted to let them down, but given the choice I would always choose to be alone and introverted. My instincts tell me that this is because my early teachers, and my parents who didn’t understand that sometimes teachers can be incorrect, punished this “vital energy” early on to the extent that I repressed it without realising.
The same happens with “jocks” who have useful aggressive temperaments about them, which are misdirected into gang violence rather than moulded into useful talents. In art, we were graded on our knowledge of the artist and our replication of their techniques, rather than demonstrating original and creative techniques of our own. In drama, we wanted to create our own stories and our own characters, but instead we were always given a script to learn. It’s a real shame.

"Slave-morality" is, when a real slave will extend his own situation of oppression to other people and enforce it in the same way over them. Simply from the perspective, because the one slave thinks that the other is not better anyway, which is why he also belongs to be oppressed. Or the other variant: "If I do not, then all others also not". ... which does not fit so well to Nietzsche's slave morality. Because it can be a question of justice, and not about individual projection and humiliation of others from own humiliation or recognition of the own nothingness.
The first one many peoples missunderstand by using it as a justifying for equality. But.... they didn´t notice, that it does not have any reason for equality or other individual relevancy, it has to do with individual incapableness. For example, that we all have to use safety belts or helmets.... because its our own security (whats not the real reason, rather, that they belief, it will cost their money, if your got hurt by accident without helm or belt). And they think, if i cannot drive without belt, others shouldn´t also. And because it was actually a thing: vaccinating-mandates...albeit the real benefit isn´t the herd-immunity, rather the individual immunity (and if the individual immunity does not work, the herd immunity will never happend), just as the security belt or helmet will only benefit the user, not their fellowmen.
But that this regulation may be only, because there are some individuals, who will be more likely involved in heavy accidents, that isn´t part in their perspective. To say, its because we didnot want to pay for others careless acting-consequences, is a projecting overjump over the reality, that some humans will bring themselfes more in danger, as others. And they will not feel less worth, so they belief, that the regulations are out of a collective equality- and security scenario....and not admit, that they are the problem for themselfes.
I recently heard of a club/association regulary (small garden-club), where it forbids to grill/barbecue with real wood charcoal ("no open fire" restricktion). Because... you guess it: fire-danger in the enviorment. Thats also partly a habit of slavery-morality, because as long as it seems most peoples resonable in their own lacking of capability to cope with dangerus situations, they always will accept restricktions and will prevail the self-enjoined restricktions over others. Without differentiations and by all means.
Ok, fire is dangerus. But often we have to suffer from consequences out of an old men about to overburden his cabalititys or a female with three left feets (and no right hand), got in trubblesome situations and cause catastrophic consequences. And then they formulated some regulation, that will restrict all peoples - irrespectively, that the problem was that one specific human with some uncapabilitys..or overconfidence and carelessness. So we have a culture of slave-morality out of single individual incapablenesses of view peoples - and that does not only mean, that already oppressed humans wish, that all others also be oppressed, rather, that dangerus situations should be prevented for all, even, if the problem isn´t the dangerus task or situation, rather the peoples, that do it in a moment of overconfidence and carelessness. And put themselfes in danger.
Even, if not only some humans are incapable for that task, rather most, it does not justify a legal regulation, because.... there is also that incredible demonstrative "Freedom-Ideology" and imperative, right? And if individual immunity does not work, the herd-immunity isn´t a thing anyway, because that one immunity is based on the other immunity. Respectivly, that herd.-immunity makes no sense in that scenario anyway, because if it does not work individual dependable, the herd-immunity will not work or make it in any way better for the lack of individual immunity. That theory is strangly absurd and has no foundation in reality.
And there is also that idea of "democrazy" and the citizenas the "souvereign" in the nodern, western state. Wherein the masses will vote the furute politics (and legal-strategy) and whatever more. But. there is a problem: You cannot have such democrazy and also the imperative of freedom and liberty. Both do not go together, because if a part (a majority of population) votes for a strategy, that forces all in a certain structure, the democrazy trespasses their individuality- and freedom imperative and forces others in inadequate restrictions. And especialy, if some regulations/restrictions does not effect those, who voted for it. For example: Drug-prohibition or... even one times more: secure belts or vaccination-mandates.
It may view bad and irresponsible to give the peoples even the possibility to act and be/live selfaccountable, but its the main strategy to evolve in advanced civilisation-capability. I do not vote for to bereave fellowmen, because they behaved wrong. I vote for a possibility to get accountability and capability. Without trying, no capability.
And all that habits of avoiding and forbidding is a sign of a degenerating population....just as it is that slavery-morality, if one slave in its own incapableness will force the restirctions ove all other fellowmen.... so you guess, what and why there is degenerative tendencys going on? Its a question of reliance on/in the peopels skills if or if not others (for example your adulting childs) will be capable... and a question of education and being a example for skills. And if nobody can or will be a example for capability of skills, nobody will learn that skills.
Its some diference, when the danger is so high for thirds, that there must be some restriction...espacialy, if the culture has lost its own capability to cope and master such skills/tasks and dangers.

I think that you hit upon something here Uber. I always wondered myself that the artistic/goth/creative crowd were minor social exiles who grouped together by negative identity (“we aren’t the jocks”). That’s a reactive mentality and inherently slavish. And I think that that was true in some number of cases (although not all, and a lot of people report very complex social hierarchies where people transitioned between groups seamlessly and often inhabited more than one “clique”). But I also think that the creative identity runs much deeper than simply a nerdy guy who needs some outlet for his frustrated sexual desires.
    Here’s my case:
Take Genghis Khan. Giga chad. Bred so many women that he made Casanova look like a cucklord. Conquered Eurasia and very almost Japan also. Indomitable warrior, charismatic, articulate, polylingual, deep, intelligent, and genius. He wasn’t just a Jock of Jocks- he was extraordinarily versatile and well-rounded.
Now let’s take the creative interpretation of Mr. Genghis from the ‘Ghost of Tsushima’ franchise. What’s interesting about the way that he presents himself to Jin Sakai in the teaser trailer for that game? And what’s equally interesting about the quality of the Samurai (and Jin in particular) as presented in the game, albeit with its waxing of its creative license?
There’s a mysterious aura around Genghis. He exudes something intangible, beyond the physically obvious signs and symbols of his undoubtable charisma: he exudes the Will to Power, the carnal life force which drives and animates all things, as if he’s tapped into the primordial well of Being itself. Jin also has this quality.
And here’s how it relates to creativity. What is that attribute by which someone taps into that essence, if not creativity? What is creativity, if not the Promethean and/or Primordial energy manifesting and materialising in heretofore unseen forms in our otherwise mundane and banal reality? And what is it that makes Genghis so formidable apart from this? Is it his halberd? His Chieftains carry such weapons, and are cut down rank-and-file by young Jin, without great difficulty. Is it his prowess, size, or strength? Jin, half his size and strength, stands toe-to-toe with him and defeats him in open combat. Is it his physical awareness or training? Jin matches him in the former and bests him in the latter. No, it’s his creative potential, vitality, and _virility_ which make him such a formidable force of nature. And the same is true of Jin Sakai.
The greatest conquerors, warriors, athletes and artisans that mankind has ever known have always been creatives. And it will always be so. That’s my proposition.
What we have with what you’re describing are really psuedo “creatives” masquerading as intellectuals and artists as a defence mechanism, to establish a sense of identity, to subvert their enemies, or to “fit in”. And perhaps some of these are genuine _creatives_ too, in the sense that I mean. But I’d wager generally not.
So, do I agree with your analysis of why “creative” men do as they do, and sidle up to Stacies to abscond the Jock? Absolutely. But do I think that that does justice to the quality of creativity? Absolutely not. Creativity is the fountainhead of culture, and the very indomitable force which shapes all things upon which we may take our lives for granted. And _real_ creativity has nothing to do with subverting belief systems and exacting petty vengeances, and _everything_ to do with moulding that plastic and evanescent material world around us into the idealising form of its grand and illustrious vision.

I believe there are alpha males and beta males, but these have little to do with superficial tendencies or characteristics and much more to do with someone’s bearing or attitude towards life in general. An alpha male is someone who bears his cross, complains infrequently (if ever), remains calm and positive under pressure and duress, gives everything his everything, has a firm sense of vision (or purpose) guiding him, doesn’t easily give up or vacillate under social pressure, throws himself into opportunities with confidence knowing that failure is inevitable, and isn’t governed by weak, negative emotions like envy, fear, bitterness and the like. A beta is the opposite.

Interesting video although I must admit I’m a tad confused/skeptical. So is this just philosophy for the idea of taking control of your life? It’s an interesting set of ideas but I struggle to see its value for wider society.
Also, although this “nerd vs chad” framing of Nietzsche’s ideas could be useful, you hashed it out to the point where it feels limited in its scope. A lot of this narrative relies on traditional masculine beliefs, obviously, which would be fine if you had perhaps provided a second example for Nietzsche philosophy. Using your example it’s pretty difficult to imagine a similar scenario showcasing slave morality involving say.. women. Overall this feels strangely opinionated, but perhaps I’m reading it wrong.

The "jock" you describe here seems more like some preppy trust-fund baby who's had his sense of identity molded by external approval; as opposed to a truly self-affirmed, self-made Master. Also you calling an orgasm the "ultimate reward" is hilarious lmao.
With that said, I think this example is a bit misleading. Rather the dividing line should be those of competence & confidence vs. those without both of these or even one of them (although these don't have specific cliques tied to them). Often times the true masters will be those with the confidence of a jock but the competency of a nerd; those who cover all bases. The pure jock does well early on in life, but stands a heavy risk of devolving into mindless hedonism with no significant achievements. The pure nerd does well later on in life, but stands a heavy risk of devolving into a lack of action and material stagnancy. Those who embody both are the only true Warrior-Aristocrats.
We even see this in the greatest masters throughout history such as Alexander & Napoleon. Both men who were fairly "nerdy" & erudite in their school years, Napoleon being famously outcast and Alexander even refusing to play sports with the other boys; but they were nonetheless dominating and excellent due to an abundant amount of ability & self-confidence.

I’ve seen these attitudes in so many people in my life, I even find it relatable myself even though I am a woman. You see the same phenomena of competition amongst women with the stereotypes of the angry blue haired feminist vs the beautiful Stacy. Or in a more archetypal sense it’s the evil witch vs the beautiful princess. The witch is resentful towards the princess because she is unattractive, wicked, and unlovable, whereas the princess is beautiful, innocent, and talented. The witch thinks she can have power over others not by winning the love of a powerful man but by learning dark magic from spellbooks (nerdy book coper) and forcing others to do what she wants. She thinks that she can use this power to kill the princess or make the prince fall in love with the witch in disguise, but it always fails and the witch usually gets killed by the more powerful and virtuous prince. Instead of letting her hatred and resentment consume her entire life she could have used her abilities to become even more powerful and beautiful than the princess.
Some of the most successful people in the world were nerds who were bullied growing up, but instead of letting that resentment consume them they were determined to become far more successful than anyone around them.
I was an ugly duckling when I was a little girl, I was bullied and abused all the time for being weird and I spent all my time reading books and drawing as a way to escape. Instead of the victim mindset so many women have today I decided to change and work on myself, I used the intelligence I gained from all the reading towards developing creativity and improving my appearance and health. My experiences gave me wisdom about other people and made me more of a realist. I do think that what doesn’t kill us makes us stronger, but only if we can accept reality and learn from it instead of sticking our heads in the sand.

And now excuse me I must force jock my lying Gf and fighting my Bro to the death.

Ahahahah this is something. The first half was hilarious.
Hmm, I'm wondering though if it's a bit reductionistic. I know some nerds who have had very much succesful romantic lives. Beauty is also a depreciating asset, in your late twenties to thirties it matters less and less. The nerd can also attain a winners mindset by owning being a nerd . As some nerds do.
I've also met "Chad's" with psychological depths. I think if a girl is more sapiosexual they will be a good match with a nerd. That being said this is the template of nature, the alpha wins and the 'beta' gets the leftovers if you will. But hmmmM. Depth is really attractive. The ability to be instropective is what makes or breaks marriages. Idk .
I think there's still too much nuance .

yhvh is the resentful one, he is the envious god who feels threatened by the very existence of other gods. if he was the one he wouldnt preach it, he wouldnt punish those who belived in something else. Yaldabaoth isnt the original chad, marduk/Zeus/Jupiter/Indra/Tristo is. he is the rising hero, the morningstar. fall of lucifer is Yaldabaoth and his followers coping, the beast is dead and remains dead.

Creative people want to express their creativity through art BECAUSE they’re creative, not out of some sort of resentment or whatever lol. Jocks are jocks, artists are artists. My whole childhood was analogous to the passion of Christ, I was mocked, bullied and punished just for existing and was therefore forced into self consciousness and questioning existence from the age of 6. I was never resentful, never hateful, I just took it all, never retaliated, it just wasn’t in my nature. I just wanted to know wtf this absurd hellish reality was. I’m still trying to figure it out. Still trying to justify my suffering, it’s gonna have to be one hell of a justification though lol. As Terrence McKenna said; the artists task is to save the soul of mankind.

That makes you a "failed jock -" regardless of your self-image. I was beat up by older kids all the time, most of them friends - people I played with in my neighborhood and school. So I learned to fight. My whole childhood I was getting into fights. I was the most popular kid for about three years in a row before finishing primary school. The first year my popularity was gradually building up. Mostly because I got in a fight with a 7th grader when I was in 4th grade and won. When they took us to the office, blood was coming out of his nose and his mouth was also beat up so bled a lot. One other I must note is that I was one of the best at drawing in school. I was terrible in math. God, terrible. I've always understood things visually. Even now as an adult - young adult - I'm not very good with numbers: I'm a web developer, and I'm really good at my job. Point is, you're a "failed jock" because you didn't fight back or spend years getting beat up while you older kids to teach you how to fight. In my neighborhood, we challenged one another all the time. Things we saw in movies, we tried. From WWE, we tried it. It's all about fighting back. After some time it pays off. It certainly did for me. I remember all the Stacies from my school. In my final year in primary, I had a girlfriend I'd been with 2 years - it took me 6 months until she finally gave me a chance (she finally said yes after I qualified to go to men's artistic gymnastics national championships at the end of the year). However, this girl wasn't a Stacy (they never let me anywhere near them). She was just a girl I liked from my class. Towards the end of my final year of primary, she noticed that I was falling in love with a Stacy. In the end we broke up and I got the Stacy. We're still together even today. I didn't achieve anything in high school. I haven't achieved as yet. My girlfriend (a Stacy) is in university and I'm a web developer.

@@TshepoTau-ru2bv I’m not a failed jock, I’m just not an asshole. I can defend myself now as an adult, but as a child I wanted nothing to do with imitating those who projected their own trauma and resentment upon me, I’d have rather been crucified, and for all intents and purposes I was. It’s not like I could have fought back even if I wanted to, who was gonna teach me how to fight? Literally EVERYONE was against me, bullies don’t teach you how to fight lol.
All initiative was beaten out of me, I became mute, developed dissociative identity disorder because of all the mental and physical abuse. But I literally just didn’t give a fuck, I was used to it, it was just the nature of reality. Why would it have ever crossed my mind to fight against reality itself? Maybe I was just stubborn, though I was an extremely sensitive kid, extremely high in openness and creativity, I wasn’t feminine but these bullies may as well have been smashing little girls heads into the concrete it was not so different. My 6 year old mind just developed dissociative identity disorder to cope.
I never wanted to be a jock, I’m an artist and always have been, not out of resentment but out of my love and passion for creativity. Artists are not failed jocks and jocks are not failed artists; artists are artists and jocks are jocks. It would have been nice if someone decided to teach me how to defend myself, but people just aren’t that forgiving. Now that I’m older and have developed my personality I’ve taught myself how to fight and am not someone to be messed with. Decades worth of injustice does wonders for the fighting spirit. Lightning does not simply trickle out ⛈
But yeah childhood was shit, life is a lot better now that I’ve pulled myself out of that abyss 🌞

@@rabidL3M0NS Man honestly, the world's a tough place, and I do get what you're saying - some people are like that (and many times it's baffled me why other people never seemed to fight back, most especially girls). Even today it still doesn't make sense. I guess we all grow differently, influenced by all sorts of things that shape our perceptions and instincts in a certain way. There's a line from The Great Gatsby that goes "Life is full of variety after all," and after listening to enough of Uberboyo and Jordan Peterson some of these things start to make sense. The great thing is that Uberboyo helps us see and we can relate to some of the examples he uses and cherry-pick some points to use to...maybe reconfigure some aspects of our lives.
All in all, there are other ways to winning besides outright defeating the jock and becoming Alpha. Shit, we all know just how impossible and fatal that option is. Uberboyo makes the point that we can focus our efforts towards more niche endeavors that fit our own strengths - that's how to beat the jock, or win in a completely different space. It's all about embracing our creativity while at the same time being careful not to devise clever ways destroy the good or take revenge on the world as described towards the end of the video (the bit about school shootings).
But yeah man, I totally agree with you; childhood is shitty. Or maybe, when we're older we accept that others are better off in positions of power, success, or status - as long as it does not interfere with our own niche establishments (family, career success, relationships). I don't know. The world's a weird place. But I know one thing's for sure: trying to stand out or make some sort of achievement always comes with conflict. Uberboyo is here to help us work that bit out - see what options we have - so we're not completely hopeless.

@@TshepoTau-ru2bv well said man. I think the best any of us can do is to confront and take hold of the trauma of our past, lest it take ahold of us. To understand the motivations behind those who attempt to pull us under and understand where we’ve been lead astray in dealing with such people. As Jung said, “Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate.”
People come in all types of personality dispositions. Some enjoy being loud, some enjoy being quiet, some enjoy being athletic, some enjoy being creative, some enjoy being intellectual, some enjoy being charitable, some enjoy being malevolent. It seems I just got unlucky and was surrounded by the latter.
The “jock”, or being predisposed to athleticism is but just one type of personality trait among many. Centring one’s goals around one arbitrary personality type rather than becoming competent as one’s own true self would be a mistake.
