Discovered your channel recently Markus. Legend. Great video for what I'm looking for. I need something to go a little higher at an angle to make them more flattering but without a tripod that people can trip over!

After watching this I went to Aliexpress and bought not only cheaper ones like the smallest Godox but the “el even more chrapos“ at under 3 bucks. They arrived today, run on three AAA batteries - and after over five hours on high I just turned them off...still shining bright-ish!
Markus, Markus ... man, eventually you are going to need to build a storage building in your yard for all of the stuff you buy. I am supposed to have several items from Amazon delivered today, of items that you have demo'd and recommended. And --BTW-- Thanks for the tiny Sony compatible Flash Trigger Godox X3 TTL that you sent me. It works great!!! Cheers, Chuck (the 76-year old geezer in Northeast Florida)
My first photographic light was the CLAMP light and I loved the outcome. Of course, the new fancy schmancy lights would've been nicer. But in those days, it wasn't about obsessing over gear, it was strictly about what you knew.
Your enthusiasm is infectious. I watch your videos even when the items aren't relevant to my shooting. You mentioned several of the items produced nice soft light. Which one could be used for indoor head shots or are these still night bright enough to freeze movement if the model is moving around?
Hi Markus! You have great hair! Question: Im looking into a camcorder for my YT channel. I do mostly nature/wildlife. Would you recommend the Panasonic hc-vx1 or the Panasonic hc-981? Thanks!
If I can ask, Im looking for the smallest, lightest, brightest battery powered light. The use-case would be to place it on top/bottom of a small drone and fly around inside doing house tours for real estate. Ive got about a 1lb (~450g) limit on capacity. Current best Ive found is the smaller 5in ULANZI Handheld Light Wand.
The neewer 288 look like a nice fit for my little dungeon... My whitebox with flourescents could finally be retired. I still have a couple of the home depot pot lights that I retired a couple of years back.
I use two clamp lights and with Philips LED bulbs! Just a coincidence -- I think they could be anybody's matched LED household bulbs. I use that for my once-in-a-while Zoom calls. I shoot with a Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K, 17mm SLR Magic cinema lens, and set white balance manually. It looks magnificent.
Love this! So I use the NEEWER 176s when I travel for my interviews. I use two with the NP970s. Typically set them around 50-60%. I've actually thought about getting one more. Two on each side and one in the middle. Just to broaden the light a little more. And they'll last like 3 hours on one battery! Sometimes my interviews last over an hour. I've had some go almost 3, so I need long battery life and that's the way to do it.
@@MarkusPix You are a kindred soul in loving light weight photo equipment. At the risk of being a nuisance I'm going to highly recommend the Nikon 1 J5. The last Nikon 1 and only one with 20.8 mp sensor. Touchscreen 10-30 mm power zoom (built in cap, not the earlier 10-30mm) is very compact. Probably get on eBay from USA buyer as it less likely to be gray market. A lot of Nikons to be overly “engineery” in their menus. Panasonic rules in ergonomic layouts. But the J5 is an exception I think the Nikon 1 design group was not particularly affiliated with the SLR group as they made a camera that’s understandable. A two lens kit is ideal with a 30-100mm. Not the same is having all-in-one RX100 VII but still compact and is giving you the equivalent of 27-270 mm (with both lenses). Buying a Nikon FTZ adapter enables using their AFS lenses. I used the 55-200mm. 540mm equivalent at the long end and about 2 lbs total with adapter/lens/camera. It won't take any kind of the manual adapters as it needs the mount electronics to see a lens. Anyway I'm very grateful for your videos. And Cara is very funny and so patient. Great combo.
36:54 If memory serves, I bought the Yongnuo YN300 Air based off your recommendation a few years back. I've really only used it for Marketplace and eBay listings but it has served me well. I might have to get a couple of those Ikan lights.

Its only 30w and requires a funky external battery handle which makes it awkward and big. I like stuff that has a battery attached to the light if possible.
