Supernatural did this very well. They knew a couple seasons ahead of time that they wanted to end the show voluntarily on a high note, vs. have the material become stale and eventually get cancelled. And so that's exactly what they did. The 15th season was the final season, they wrapped up a couple loose ends, and literally killed off the main characters in the final episode just so we could see them reunite in heaven and know that they had their eternal reward.

I know how you feel about not wanting good shows to end, but with shows like The Simpsons, Spongebob Squarepants, Pokemon, and One Piece going on for years, there style soon gets old and less good to watch. So they have to have finales soon so they can make room for new shows. This was really cool. I think it’s fascinating how you guys have a much better sense of setting up dynamics that tell continuing stories rather than just telling “one” Story.
Picture this. It's the end of every media story ever made about the Masters of the Universe and the Sorceress of Grayskull comes on the screen and in Linda Gary voice says, "In today's story we learned alot about the different Masters of the Universes and their different adventures and how they all end up right kids? Unfortunately, we didn't learn everything to know about every adventure and there is still more to discover. Remember the power is within! Don't talk to strangers and don't do drugs! Until next time!" And you think to yourself, "WTF does that even mean and why would you leave me hanging like that!?!?" Now, I truly appreciate what you did combining all stories together with the classic bios. I loved how each one came together like a giant puzzle. It was an amazing adventure ride I was blessed to be apart of. However, now that we have new media we have a bunch of complainers, moaning and groaning about why the new Netflix Masters of the Universe isn't the same(both of them), but somewhere along the way everyone lost the original concept of He-man, She-ra and the Masters of the Universe. It's so simple and He-man reminds us everytime he transforms, "I Have The Power!" So it's us who have the power to control the storyline. That's really the beauty of it. When I first met He-man there was no cartoon and I couldn't read, so it was just me and my imagination. I'm glad there were cartoons and stories, and of course it was a excellent marketing tool to sell toys, but at the heart of He-man's idea was that he gave us the child the power. It's our imagination that creates the story and we have the power to give He-man his happily ever after. So that's what irks me when I hear complaints about new MOTU and POP media complaints. It just sounds like a bunch of whiny kids. When I'm just grateful there is Media to support my favorite toyline. So what if the story is a little different, because at the heart of it all we have the power! It's us, that toy and our imagination that creates the story and the happy ending. Too many of us forgot that was MOTU real orgins! Heck, I don't like how She-ra's ending was in this story, but guess what??? I have the power to create my own happy ending. I just wished everyone could see that and remember that, and maybe not complain so much, and just be grateful to have media and toys from their childhood on the shelves again. I personally think MOTU came at the perfect time in history, because they didn't have any media except those mini comics to support them. It was a slow start for them, but if Jem would of done that then maybe they wouldn't of made Barbie out to be a bully. I love Jem BTW, but let's be honest Jem ultimately copied Barbie, Barbie never copied Jem. Jem copy catted the Darci Doll. The Darci Doll was a copy cat of the Dramatic New Living Barbie. So who copied who?!?!? I know why Barbie and the Rockers made it so fast to Market. Mattel already dealt with that copy cat body with the Kenner Darci Doll and Hasbro waited and entire year to have Media first before they released the dolls. Which gave Mattel time to release the Rockers to market quicker. If only Hasbro would of released the dolls first like MOTU did when they started out then they could knocked Barbie out of her spot, but alas they wanted to market to us first and give us a storyline. By 1986-87 MOTU to my knowledge was the only brand that beat out Barbie in sales, so the folks at Hasbro should of taken a page from what was already a success. But instead they failed, and blamed it on an insider at Mattel. But I have an inkling that the insider also saw the designs too and when they brought it back to Mattel, Mattel was like, "Oh no it's that Darci doll again! Another Dramatic New Living Barbie Copy Cat!" That's what I think what happened. Just look at the articulation and compare the dolls. Our 12" She-ra doll/Figure is absolutely a revolution in articulation and the best doll buck ever produced, hands down! No offense Guru, I'm glad you didn't get to give us that 9" She-ra(although I would of bought her, and I was sad you left.) The MTM Barbies and MOTU Classics are my all time favorite toys btw as far as articulation goes. I absolutely loved the bios, and I appreciate all your hard work on the entire line. Thanks for making a dream a reality, Mr. Guru btw. As a child I too wanted know what those damn secrets were inside that castle. The cartoon always left me scratching my head. The bios as an adult excited me because they threaded everything together, and I kept getting closer and closer to knowing all the secrets! I needed more and more, but along the way I became mad like Skeletor and I had forgot that the power was within. The story is within. The media is just a tool to sell toys to kids. Get the toys. Collect it for yourself. Create your own stories, or better yet give He-man and the Masters of the Universe to the next generation and let them create their own stories, let them have the power too! Otherwise He-man's just gonna be your friend only, he'll never have staying power like Barbie where she was your parents friend, your friend, your kids friend and she'll be here for their kids and the kids after that and the ones after that and so on and so forth. It's all about the relationship between the child, the toy and the stories they create in their imagination. If we just complain about Media and Toys all the time then how selfish are we to not allow MOTU and POP toys to get into the hands of the new generation, and allow them to create their own ending. How selfish of us as collectors to be like this? We have the power but we don't don't want to share it with others, have we become a bunch of Evil Warriors? The coolest thing in the entire universe for me was to watch my niece enjoy all the POP and MOTU characters. I watched as grown adults complained about the last POP media and toys. It was so magical to see her love for all the characters that when I collected the toys for myself, I bought them for her too. The POP Filmation cartoon came alive for her and so did the Netflix one. She was even watching MOTU old Filmation cartoons. This is not an easy feat to appease a 5 year old now a days with todays' graphic pixar animation which is what she likes normally. She learned all the character's names and what powers they had. I cried when she knew who all my old POP dolls/figures from the 80s were. She knew all my MOTU Classic action figures and if it was an obscure figures like He-ro or the Mighty Spector she was so amazed to learn about them and she just absorbed who they were and what they did and how they helped He-man and She-ra, if they were a good guy or bad guy and who fought whom. She couldn't get enough, so we watched New Adventures, 200X as well. Out of all my nephews and nieces this was the one that understood and got it like you and I did when we were that age in the 80s. And I forgot to tell you she's my nephews daughter. So I guess that makes me Orko The Great, but it was just sheer magic to watch how a new generation was forming right in front of my eyes! So one for me, one to archive, and now, one for her. It's tough, but it's worth it to see her have her own adventures. Yes, I too have my gripes, but the fact of the matter is that we need to appreciate that we have something new to pass on to the next generation so they can create their own happy endings. So seeing her watch all the new MOTU and POP media on Netflix and playing with the new toys, while having her own adventures and creating her own stories that's my happily ever after! Let us not forget WE HAVE THE POWER, SO CAN YOU!!!🎼🎶🎶
Thank you for this!!! It was nice to have an ending for sure! I am 46 as of February 26 and I have waited a long time for this!! Much appreciated sir!!!
Sure that's sweet and all comic summaries that you've given us before. Buuuut..... What about Orko? He and Dree Elle had one of the more "advanced" romances in the Filmation series. Does Dree Elle move to Eternia to be with Orko? (Given his later role with the Snake Men, I'm assuming Orko has not gone back to Trolla.) Do they have kids? What about Cringer? How'd his story turn out? And did Swiftwind's little one get called in as Dare's combat companion? And if Frosta couldn't have He-Man, did she find someone to love? These are the REAL questions that inquiring minds want to know, Scott!
While I have always wanted an ending for He-Man, I think She-Ra needed it even more. Skeletor tried and tried but never managed to get the job done. The rare times he made it into Grayskull he was kicked out a few minutes later. There was way more at stake with the She-Ra series as the planet was already conquered. We saw her win the battles but never the war.
My question would be would Adora tell Bo who she really is? Then Bo would question if he's worthy enough to marry a princess then there's the fact that she's She-Ra. Can Bo accept Adora for who she is? Last time I checked he was all about She-Ra while Seahawk was all about Adora.
Classics was the best Scott! Thank you for that line! Loved it all and it's my true MOTU Collection! I love Origins just as much, but Classics was the best! (just my opinion)
I would've thought Tuskador (not the Meterorb) or Snout Spot would've won the Twinkie contest, but way to go He-Man! Or am I thinking of the episode where Orko's spell went wrong while replicating an Earth treat for Queen Marleen's birthday? Great video sir- thank you so much! Sometimes I want the story wrapped up, but other times I like the open ended nature as it spurs the imagination forward...
Thank you for this great video. I really like the lore especially how the New Adventures continues. I am from Germany so it was back in the 80th and 90th hard to get lore pieces like this. Thank you
I'm glad to see that He-Man had a more of a Happily-Ever-After than a happy ending. It's a nice little reflection of how life moves on. Prince Adam couldn't always be Prince of Eternia after all.
I've now read the mini-comics referenced in this video and am wondering if Cringer/Battle Cat died before the events in any of them? I didn't see him even mentioned. The early issues led into "New Adventures," although not quite the version we got since here She-Ra was included, but no Cringer or Battle Cat there either. For that matter, no Spirit or Swift Wind.
I didn't know that. That is a really great video, I like it :) What is the issue of He-man no more? Like Spider-man no more from the video? What is it about?
I would love to see this all be retold one day in a definitive MOTU epic saga. Leave out the comedy and making it a solid fantasy series full of awesome technology. One could dream, but I doubt I’ll see that in my lifetime.
Although I donnit read the DC comics series, I feel that in almost every other medium, He-Man never receives an ending. Perhaps it was the nature of the beast at the time where animation studios make a certain amount of episodes for a TV series so as it can be used for syndication. As such, it would be neat to see a He-Man animated series with an ending - I feel that the Netflix He-Man series for kids will get a proper one.
In 0.38 there is a screenshot of what I believe is the only moment where He man and Skeletor duke it out in the cartoon is only one strike of the swords but as I recall it it was epic. but I haven't been able to find which episode it is and I haven´t been able to show my son. Can you help me out and point that episode in my direction?
Not to argue your point, but, was Skleletor really in "128 of 130 episodes" in the original series? You are the expert and I may be mistaken but I vividly remember the weeks when the villain of the episode was not Skeletor but some one-off wizard or monster because I hated it when that happened.
Nice highlights about the Masters of the universe story Scott...😀✌️ Scott what do you think about Masters of the universe cameo at the Superbowl commercial this year? Also what's your input on the Masterverse line next waves, portraying characters from different interactions of Masters of the Universe like New Adventures, 200X, etc?😀
The only thing that doesn't make sense here is that Dare, the son of a blond and a ginger, has brown hair. Of course, retrospectively, it was a little odd that Adam was blond in the first place.
My main grudge with Masters was...how come the Scorceress was never able to do anything with all her power??? She was always crying for He-Man to do everything! In my book she was the true villian of the show...wishing Skeletor took over Castle Grayskull
I watch all your videos on MOTU. I love them so much!!! Anyway, I was wondering is there any way to read the classics mini comics without having to get all the classics figures? That's a lot of cash for a single dad to fork out, haha
I'd love to see that official list of Classics figures one of these days, so we know exactly what counts as an individual figure release. Did we really reach 300 figures in the line? I've got 'em all, but still don't know if the actual figure count reached or surpassed 300 or not.
@@spectorcreative1872 Yeah, not only that, do you count the palace guards as a 2-pack of figures or 4 separate figures because of the bonus heads? I get it. Still, I'd like to know what YOU (the ex-brand manager) think is the final count ... ? :)
Do you think part of what drives collectors with toy lines, is the fact they grew up going on adventures, feeling like part of the team, and because it never had a conclusion, it feels like unfiinished business. So we collect, for closure, and to show we havent forgotten our duty, and our friends? .... This applies to a lot of toy lines, star wars, he-man, thundercats, ninja turtles etc. Most of these lines with huge collector bases dont have a definitive "THE END". Lines that do dont generally have collector fan bases as large.
That is a huge part of it. Like how their were adventures to fill in between Star Wars and Empire (vs no Time passing between ep 7 and 8 for adventures)
I liked the ending from the episode "Pawns of the Game Master". It was hinting, that Teela was going to wind up with Prince Adam and He-Man, as she said she would like a man with Adam's wit and He-Man's courage, but wondered where she would ever find such a man . The wink from He-Man and the Sorceress was the giveaway. Of course we never got a final definitive ending for the Filmation series.
Why did King Randor had to die for He-Man to become king? Randor could simply have abdicated the throne and become Prince Randor. This isn't an uncommon thing in monarchies. Alternatively, Queen Marlena could have turned Eternia into a democracy/constitutional republic after King Randor's death. She's originally from the USA after all, and should hold American values. After King Randor's death she would hold vast political power as Queen Mother and regent to Prince Adam. I have wondered for a long time why Queen Marlena never pushed for social and political reform? How is she ok with social inequality caused by feudalism where serfs serve nobles? Is Queen Marlena a golddigger after all?
Lou Scheimer's original plan for He-Ro was that Randor and Marlena retired and made Adam king, living in their "summer palace" full time. I guess not realistic enough? (I was 31 and 41 when I lost each of my parents.) Arthur's story had an anvil, too: ua-cam.com/video/VExLG8E6tMA/v-deo.html

Let us not forget WE HAVE THE POWER, SO CAN YOU!!!🎼🎶🎶
Well said!
Thank you for this!!! It was nice to have an ending for sure! I am 46 as of February 26 and I have waited a long time for this!! Much appreciated sir!!!
I need those mini-comic scans asap
It's missing a happy ending for She Ra's story where she frees Eteria, but she merries Bow. Not Sea Hawk.
@@catspawgardner3213 no, Bow also loves Adora and he doesn't know they are the same. It's the same as Teela with He Man and Adam.
Kevin Smith LIED. CLOWNFISH TV was RIGHT...and so was Alan Smithee.
I read all of Alan Smithee’s stuff
@@spectorcreative1872It's always nice to meet a Fan. I follow you on youtube as well. I'm an avid colector of action figures.
Classics was the best Scott! Thank you for that line! Loved it all and it's my true MOTU Collection!
I love Origins just as much, but Classics was the best! (just my opinion)
Thank you for this video! This was the ending I was hoping for!
Yay! Found this video early!
Are the minicomics shown in this video available as a collection?
Please tell me I can still get those mini comics or that you’ll make a graphic novel
I want to know if Frosta still has the hots for He-Man. 😀
awesome work as always
I would have love to see a beastman Bar mitzvah!
I would be there
I didn’t even know that this existed
Thank you for wrapping up our childhood
I would've thought Tuskador (not the Meterorb) or Snout Spot would've won the Twinkie contest, but way to go He-Man! Or am I thinking of the episode where Orko's spell went wrong while replicating an Earth treat for Queen Marleen's birthday? Great video sir- thank you so much! Sometimes I want the story wrapped up, but other times I like the open ended nature as it spurs the imagination forward...
I’m glad you liked! And Tuskador came in second
Thank you for this great video. I really like the lore especially how the New Adventures continues. I am from Germany so it was back in the 80th and 90th hard to get lore pieces like this. Thank you
Nice work back in the day and great video today!
Thanks and most appreciated!
Wasn't Randor's father still alive at the end of Filmation too?
I'm glad to see that He-Man had a more of a Happily-Ever-After than a happy ending. It's a nice little reflection of how life moves on. Prince Adam couldn't always be Prince of Eternia after all.
I love surprise videos!
Is there a full list/order for all of this extra media.
like terminator, comics are always the first stop to go to find a proper conclusion to a franchise
Firefly too!
Thank you for sharing
this better not be about Courtney Cox getting her parents back !
😅😅😅😅
With all the innuendos in MOTU, I'm surprised this wasn't called "He-man's Happy Ending".
Oh dear…
this felt like ending of courage the cowardly dog
what is their leg routine like? I need ferocious quads like Hero
Castle Grayskull blows up... that’s the ending right there!
Well from one perspective.//
I've now read the mini-comics referenced in this video and am wondering if Cringer/Battle Cat died before the events in any of them? I didn't see him even mentioned. The early issues led into "New Adventures," although not quite the version we got since here She-Ra was included, but no Cringer or Battle Cat there either. For that matter, no Spirit or Swift Wind.
Battle Cat is around. Just retired. Panthor however doesn’t make it
@@spectorcreative1872 RIP Panthor.
I didn't know that. That is a really great video, I like it :) What is the issue of He-man no more? Like Spider-man no more from the video? What is it about?
..that was an awesome storytelling of what happened with He-Man! I had No idea of any of that story line
Great work as always. When did Grayskull blow up and why?
This is a what could of been moment. It would of been amazing seeing he-man continue in filmation and these stories be animated
He-Ro, the Dare-y Heir of the Power of He-Man. 😉
😂😂 I thought the exact same thing.
In 0.38 there is a screenshot of what I believe is the only moment where He man and Skeletor duke it out in the cartoon is only one strike of the swords but as I recall it it was epic. but I haven't been able to find which episode it is and I haven´t been able to show my son. Can you help me out and point that episode in my direction?
when skeleteen was a baby was he skelebaby?
Not to argue your point, but, was Skleletor really in "128 of 130 episodes" in the original series? You are the expert and I may be mistaken but I vividly remember the weeks when the villain of the episode was not Skeletor but some one-off wizard or monster because I hated it when that happened.
Yeah but he still showed up usually in some way
I want to see those comics
3:55 so happened to me, but when I started collecting classics.. I wanted only 2 figures, but I ended up building up my collection
I never knew he came back to Etrnia post NA. I always wondered. Thanks! Where can I get a copy of Homecoming?
Nice highlights about the Masters of the universe story Scott...😀✌️
Scott what do you think about Masters of the universe cameo at the Superbowl commercial this year? Also what's your input on the Masterverse line next waves, portraying characters from different interactions of Masters of the Universe like New Adventures, 200X, etc?😀
Super Bowl awesome and I think Masterverse doing different styles is refreshing as it offers something new
The only thing that doesn't make sense here is that Dare, the son of a blond and a ginger, has brown hair. Of course, retrospectively, it was a little odd that Adam was blond in the first place.
And his sister
I think the brown hair came from his Grandpa King Randor
I grew up with this show and never even knew there was an actual "ending".
And hey that is what this channel is for!
What about Adora/She-ra?
thanks for this ! fantastic fodder
Most welcome! Any help reposting is always appreciated
Thanks ,I needed this
Always welcome!
Why did She-ra turn evil again at the end when she fought Dare
My main grudge with Masters was...how come the Scorceress was never able to do anything with all her power??? She was always crying for He-Man to do everything! In my book she was the true villian of the show...wishing Skeletor took over Castle Grayskull
What we could of had!
Is there anyway to get those comics?
Dark horse did a reprint as part of a coffee table book.
@@spectorcreative1872 thank you
I watch all your videos on MOTU. I love them so much!!! Anyway, I was wondering is there any way to read the classics mini comics without having to get all the classics figures? That's a lot of cash for a single dad to fork out, haha
Alas DC has yet to reprint them
I'd love to see that official list of Classics figures one of these days, so we know exactly what counts as an individual figure release. Did we really reach 300 figures in the line? I've got 'em all, but still don't know if the actual figure count reached or surpassed 300 or not.
I think it depends on how you count. Are the horde troopers 2 figures? Is lookee and kowl one sku or two?
@@spectorcreative1872 Yeah, not only that, do you count the palace guards as a 2-pack of figures or 4 separate figures because of the bonus heads? I get it. Still, I'd like to know what YOU (the ex-brand manager) think is the final count ... ? :)
Are these minicomics collected somewhere for the rest of us to read?
ooh I'm early for this one
He-Man and the Masters of the Universe 2000X was and is the best
What about his sister She-Rah any reunion? What happened to old Dragon that wanted He-man to cut down the oldest tree in Eternia for him?
What happened to orko and battlecat/cringer?
I think the newspaper strips ended the He-Man saga in it's own satisfying way also. Also they had him return to Eternia.
I wish we had good reprints of them!
Skeleteen eventually became Skeladult then SkelOAP.
Cool video
I liked the ending from the episode "Pawns of the Game Master". It was hinting, that Teela was going to wind up with Prince Adam and He-Man, as she said she would like a man with Adam's wit and He-Man's courage, but wondered where she would ever find such a man . The wink from He-Man and the Sorceress was the giveaway.
Of course we never got a final definitive ending for the Filmation series.
I wish we had!
Awesome video!
He didn’t have to, but it moves the story forward and provides consequences for action
It's good that Adam/He-Man got a happy ending, but I'm also curious about Orko and Dree Elle
Eternia time doesnt exist
This is a great story. And I like how it is generational. No need to reboot-- just move it forward.
Lou Scheimer's original plan for He-Ro was that Randor and Marlena retired and made Adam king, living in their "summer palace" full time. I guess not realistic enough? (I was 31 and 41 when I lost each of my parents.)
Arthur's story had an anvil, too: ua-cam.com/video/VExLG8E6tMA/v-deo.html
Is ihe ending where we wake up and revelations turned out to be a horrible nightmare.
Sky High needs his own video, that character and concept was such a cool addition to the line!
And he will get one. I am going in figure release order
@@spectorcreative1872 I think I mentioned wanting a video on Rotar but I *think* it was around the time of your exit and some Con exclusive 2-pack. Hope it's not the last video in the series. I put your vids on as much as the actual He-Man cartoons! Can't wait for Sky High!
I would love to see a He-Man series where He-Man and Skeletor are "frenemies" kinda like Dr. Venture & The Monarch in The Venture Bros. or Xander Crews and Killface in Friskydingo.
Is a happy finale the same thing as a happy ending?
It depends on who you ask
He Man and the Masters of the universe 2000X was and is the best, Who else agrees?
