"For me it is." Is the most low-key thought-provoking comment I have heard in a video in a long time. Made me stop and think about my life, what possibilities still exist for me, and appreciate when it really can't get any better than the current moment.

When the wind is in the north, the skillful fisher goes not forth
when the wind is in the south, it blows the bait in the fish's mouth
when the wind is in the east, it's not fit for man nor beast
but when the wind is in the west, that's where it's the very best
    Great video as usual Joe

Love the end with your reflection and appreciation for the finer things in life, this is what keeps people tuning into your channel!!! The bit with the secret spices and covering up Donnies netherbits was hilarious!!!! Lol!! Keep 'em coming!!!

You cost me some bucks though…..I’ve been eying those Coleman stoves for awhile, was debating that or a reflector oven but now have the Coleman coming my way! Joe, another quality episode as usual. Where I grew up in southern Iowa, it was wind out the east the fish bite the least. Wind out of the west, the fish bite the best. Wind from the south blows the bait into their mouth. Wind from the north, don't go forth.

He Joe, loving this ice fishing trip with u and Donnie. U have a great set up with all the comforts. Only thing missing is the StarLink, lol.
I don’t ice fish but if I ever do I’m doing it your way.
Love hunting, sledding, cutting wood etc at my Cabin and the amenities are sure great as we get older.
U and Donnie sure make these videos fun. And like me Donnie rocks the kitchen specialties.
I’m originally from across the border in New Brunswick, Canada 🇨🇦, so am familiar with how awesome Maine is for the Outdoors.

You guys make a great team! Donnie does well for 80. 75 was the oldest I could get my dad out ice-fishing. Even then, I had to do all the work. Must be high pressure to explain the biting lull. On such slow days, I would work the traps constantly, and tie newspaper to the line to move the bait on windy days.
Is that a Winnerwell Stove? Got one myself. I also have a hot water attachment (fits around the stovepipe), and a folding oven attachment (sets on top of the stove). One small stove does it all. Two windows light up the tent.

You mentioned you had a problem with the pin droping out while towing your sled. I noticed you put your pin in from the top down, you should put it in from the bottom up. The action of your hitch while towing always pumps the pin upwards. If you use a pin with a spring retainer it will jack itself out of the hole. If you put it from the bottom up it will jack up against the head of the pin. Try it you will be surprised.

@@JoeHollandFishing let me know what size battery you go with for your overnighters. I also see that solar panels work well for recharging during the day. I just don't know how efficient that is. I have been watching you for years and love your setup. Though I prefer to go a bit lighter myself on the flooring. But that's my preference. But I will tell you, that you inspired me to give it a go on the ice and I took many of your ideas with me and thanks for that. I especially love the landscape lights. I just drill a hole not all the way through, kick in the shavings and wa-la instant night time lighting. Especially for those out there snowmobiling. At about the 36 second mark on my highlights for last year is my setup. ua-cam.com/video/LVkKCvLnQ5w/v-deo.html Certainly not as professionally done as yours, but I wanted to capture the season and share with fellow ice fishing enthusiasts.
