Hi! for 4:17 I have your answer! I work in the attraction park nextdoor which also owns the ground Defqon.1 gets hosted on. In general, it takes them about a good month to set everything up but you will only see the stages being built in the last 2 weeks. At the end, the stages and all that are gone again in about a week and cleaning everyones rubbish and making the ground nice takes them another two weeks. They have their crew camping on the attraction park's overnight resort in an open field, which is on the other (north/south) side. It's really a cool experience to see it all happen, as I am there pretty much every day, especially when they're building and cleaning again, it gives you such a good feeling. And when the festival is going, you can't help but notice the amount of vibration going through the park. And the fireworks aswell. At 3 o'clock they unleash everything and the quietness is gone for the rest of the day. I usually try and get a spot as close as possible to work at so I can still vibe with everyone haha. If you want more details from a semi-insider you can always contact me, I love to talk about this all 😁
@@plasmabase152 You also have the Lowlands festival (more regular EDM and pop music like Skrillex and such), a religious festival and mudmasters, an obstacle course. Outside of those events it gets used by the park itself for it's Rollercoaster Run to raise money and awareness for cancer research and outside of that sheep from the local farms roam the holy lands
Cool, thanks for the insight. I remember some visits to Walibi while attending Defqon.1 Quite the experience to ride Goliath and having the festival as background.
I wanted to know Been 2 times at Defqon and wanted to see the holyground empty last month when I was in the NL Is it possible to go there or is it closed ?
I love that you comment on so many videos without bias. You look like someone who really likes metal, like me. But you also hear something like that, cool!
My experience is they'll probably set it up in 8 - 4 weeks dependending on weather. The stage is pre-designed and some parts might even be re-used. There is considerable experience in stage design around the Netherlands. It's something we're very good at. Also, everybody with his camera out should really think about their life. What the F are you doing looking through that screen when you can live in the moment? Put your damn phone away!
@@Valaplayss unfortunately 2023 was the last hosting for q-dance at mysteryland :( it switched to heroes of hardstyle and moved indoors... same for the hosting at tomorrowland, they cancelled it.
It takes about 1.5-2 weeks to setup onsite, but it’s all pre-done, so basically they ”only” have to put each piece into its assigned slot. If we include design and fab, alot longer.
ah yes, 2019, my first Defqon. I just realized that this stage is turning 5 this year, oh boi xD. Idk why but the pre corona Defqon feel so much different to me that ne post corona, maby it was my first but it feels like something swiched after this edition (but they are all still mindblowing, don't get me wrong). they just kinda feel more Conforting or more with love, i don't know how to describe this feeling
The fireworks regulations are different, 2019 we still had the banging big bouqets that filled up the sky next to the flares, after covid the regs changed so they cant use the 4" shells anymore and big boomers so we have to do with flares mines and some mid filling effects
Due to corona, Qdance had to let go a lot of people, resulting in the shows being generally less good after 2019. Everyones favorite is mostly the first they saw live (for me 2016), but 2017 really killed it with the 3 hours of AWESOMEness.
The impressive part of this video is that for almost the whole show the fireworks were not synced correctly and were going off at the wrong times. The editing team did a great job trying to hide all the fireworks misfires. From crowd videos of the endshow in the audience you can really see just how bad the timing was off live. Just a fun tidbit about this show! And it was the last one before the virus hit!
4:22 only really 1 or 2 weeks for the stage itself. they will start putting down the huge metal and wood plates everything is based on a month before, then the riggers come in and will put in a metal support, those things take the most amount of times, after that its only lights, audio and a miles of cables and decoration.
Sefa is another level. For me he's the goat on defqon1. Hard really hard with a twist. he's a artist. mixing all music styles , hardstyle em no hardcore music ,from metal to classic :)
@@jietoh0072 yeah for me as well. I believe he has taken this kind of music to another level. Especially the 2022 set. Starting with 2019 and after that the 2022 this is sefa set.
