Sometimes a little repetitive or wordy but enjoy the story. I’ve listened to most of these more than once. Helps me deal with pain to keep the audiobooks going even if I’ve heard them more than once. Always miss something the first time through especially at night. Thanks.
Sweet, Sweet Water, North Dakota!! This story is one of my favorites. Angela determines to change as she realizes her parents might be over-controlling. Mack has been in the road to change thanks to Clay. Clay is instrumental in making sure these two get together. I love the ending!! ❤❤❤❤❤ Thank you, again, Jessie and Jay!!
So, I had tons of emotions with this book. When I finished the last book I knew Angela was getting the next one and I didn’t like it because I was upset with her. However, by the time I found out about the bet in this book (that’s what I get for not reading the blurb I suppose), I was all upset about the treatment of Angela. Talk about whiplash! Anyways, this book was pretty incredible. Showing that people can change and a focus on the minute by minute choices. I loved the Christmas theme too. Audio: I especially loved the little girl's audio :)
Thank you, Michaela! Honestly, the little girls cracked me up the whole way through, but especially "that" scene (no spoilers, but I'm sure you know which one) - I remember having to stop a few times because I kept laughing. Jessie just nailed it!
I am loving this book with Mack and Angela getting together. I am glad that Angela is becoming a better person. The children is the story bring things alive, and Jay's narration with the different voices, especially the children, makes this audiobook special.
I was truly not looking forward to Angela's story. Because of her behaviour, I really didn't care to see her get a happily ever after. I have to say though, I enjoyed this one. I was only around two hours in when I started to like Angela. The fact that she was clearly working on changing and didn't shy away from admitting her past wrongs, in fact she reminded people about them, it made me respect her. I ended up being happy for her. One part did seem extra off to me though...these people are supposed to be 'live by the good book' Christians, do no harms, salt of the earth folks, but they still made that bet, one that was intended to hurt Angela. What kind of good Christian intentionally goes out and hurts someone that way? That part was very surprising to me and made me second guess my thoughts on a few of the characters. Anyway, I enjoyed it.
Thanks so much for sticking with the story, EV, and I'm glad you enjoyed it! I do see your point, too. (Now, please remember, I'm just the humble narrator, so my likely ill-informed opinion is just my own, and I wouldn't presume to speak for Jessie or anyone else) I actually like that Jessie has imperfect characters throughout her stories. I mean, to me, that's far more realistic, since all us, and especially Christians, are imperfect and flawed and will continually mess up and do things we should know better than to do (I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one, right? 😉). Anyway, just my two cents (two pence?) worth - thanks again for listening!
