- Chi came to Strawberry Sands to escape her past. There were a lot of things to be ashamed of there. Maybe that's why she's so eager to catch the eye of the big-name lawyer who hangs out at her diner. It will prove she's not as worthless as she feels. Only, she overhears a conversation, and after a little investigation, she finds out it's true. She might have done more to embarrass herself, but Griff, her co-worker showed up on his bike and whisked her away. Almost like a heroine in a fairy tale, except her life is anything but a fairy tale. And Chi is far from a heroine.
Griff has done his share of things he regrets, and he can see the signs of self-destruction loud and clear in Chi. Maybe that's why he followed her to Blueberry Beach when she chased the fancy lawyer. Regardless, he was there to save her from herself, and to his surprise, she held on tight as he rode away. So far so good. Now all he has to do is convince her that appearances aren't everything, the past is under the blood, and it's what in her heart that matters.
Simple. And he has to do all that without allowing her to see how much he loves her. Because, despite his tough persona, his heart can't handle another rejection.

Congratulations on book number 100. Listening to Jay narrate Jessie’s books never gets old.
This is a great series. I love that the author brings Christian values to the story. Her characters have real issues that they work through. The narrator draws you in.
Chi owns a diner in Strawberry sands. Griff is her cook. Chi set her sights on a big shot lawyer from Chicago. Griff is a tattooed motorcycle rider who has fallen in love with Chi.
There is a lot of threads that are tied up in this story but you could read it as a stand alone. Although once you read it you’ll want to go back and read the whole series.
Thank you, Gracie! I'm so very happy you liked it!
Congratulations on 100!
“Sometimes God puts trials in our lives to push us toward Him. But, sometimes we let those trials draw us away from Him. That’s what the devil wants.”
I loved this book. We’ve been waiting for Chi and Griff to have their own HEA since the first book of this series. I adored all of the lessons on love and selfishness held within these pages. It’s my favorite of the series so far! I also adored getting more on Becky and Rodney. Redemption from pasts, following God’s leading, and making choices to lead your heart. Truly a wonderful read.
Thank you, Michaela! I absolutely loved the way Rodney and Becky wound up as well.
I so like that Jessie writes good English. So many authors now a days write as if they never learned English grammar in primary school. Thank you also for the so good moral Christian values you share, as well as wonderful stories.
I also like how she sometimes gives us litttle winks into other books/series she's written.
Thank you, Colly! My mother, who taught English, would certainly agree!
Congratulations Jay. I listen to you very often and look forward to all the recordings....they're so very listenable to and full of worthwhile content. Blessings.
Thank you so much, Pamela - it's my pleasure. I'm so fortunate to be able to read Jessie's amazing books!
Congrats for producing number 100. Jay it is such a pleasure to hear your audio performances. They are all so professional. I usually forget that only one person is reading the book and producing all the voices. You are truly gifted. You and Jessie are a great team. And Jay, when you talk about your previews you always sound like your are just standing in my living room talking to me. Thank you.
Thank you so much, Doris - you're too sweet!
❤ The extra drama in this book was amazing! I wasn't expecting it to turn out like this one. The writing is amazing and the narrating is amazing as usual ❤
Thank you, Monique! (I was just as surprised as you were! 😊)
Loving the audio book. Jessie and Jay make an awesome book team!
Thank you, Rose! I'm so fortunate to be a part!
Congratulations on your 100th recording with Jessie. You both make a great team. I am happy to listen to Griff's story. I look forward to finding out what happens in the ending. Happy weekend!
Thank you, Karen! I hope you enjoy it - have a great weekend as well!
Another marvelous book and audio. Congratulations on number 100! That is such an accomplishment. You and Jessie are the best author/narrator team in my opinion. Have a great weekend!
Thank you so much, Karen! I'm just blessed to be a part. Have a great weekend yourself!
I was excited for this one and was looking forward to it. I loved it so much. I like that Chi evolved, because she she wasnt particularly awesome to start with, but she evolved and I like who she became and now Griff gets hiis girl and they get their happily ever after.
I also must say that I like the way that this series isnt all flowery and super whimsical and we get to see some pretty heavy topics discussed.
I see that people are saying happy 100 Jay, so I will join them. Congratulations and here is to 100 more. I hope that you know that your narrating adds some wonderful things to peoples lives and that your gentle, caring voice has personally helped me to connect with the Lord in a way that I had struggled with before. Between the writing from Jessie and yourself, you have eased me closer to the Lord and I appreciate that.xx
Thank you so much, EV! I'm glad you enjoyed it; I agree - Chi really did grow over the course of this one.
Congratulations on your 100th audiobook. You are the best. Thanks for your amazing job🤩🤩
Thank you, Nati - I'm just blessed to have the chance to do it.
Love this, I need a Griff in my life, even if as no more than a very good friend.
Thank you - I'm happy you like it (and good luck on your search 😊)
@@SaywithJay , lol. I’m definitely not searching. Maybe after the new year, my Griff will surprise me. Okay, I might be day one just a little. But these books…… 😎
I love all of Jesse’s books and enjoy the narratives by Jay! Listening to the stories while going to work in the morning always set the tone for my day. The strong faith in God discussed by the characters reminds me of my purpose in life and that all I do should glorify God. ❤
Thank you for letting us be a part of your day, Mary Jo! I'm glad we can help brighten your morning!
My review: Very emotional story. Chi has finally made a decision about her lawyer friend. It doesn’t turn out well and Griff rescues her. I absolutely love how they connect at the rustic cabin. Chi realizes that her values and what she wants in life are messed up. Rodney just breaks my heart. I love this series and can’t wait for the next one.
Congratulations Jay on 100 audios! Just WOW!
Thank you so much, Lucia! I'm so glad you liked it, and thank you for your review!
Congratulations on your 100 audiobook thank you so much for posting another of your lovelly audiobooks best wishes to you and your family
Thank you, Marta! So glad I could do it for you!
Thank you Jay for this new performance! I loved this book.
Griff is the perfect character. I wanted so much to witness his happiness and hear how you'd make his voice in this book!
I couldn’t stand Chi on the contrary! It’s the first time since I discovered this author that I don’t like a character she created! But it was so well orchestrated! Jessie Gussmann achieved the hard task of changing a selfish and venal woman into a good person who finally opened her eyes and got rid of the scars from her past! I like Chi now and I sure wanted to hear you make her voice!
Thank you! I'm glad you liked it! I agree - this was such a great story!
I already left a comment on the first live day but wanted to enter my review now that I have finished the book. I loved that Griff finally has a chance to show Chi how much he loves her when he rescues her from a relationship with James, the rich lawyer, who has been misleading her and not letting her know that he is married. At least Chi finds out before James is involved in a tragedy. That tragedy helps Griff show Rodney who is the teenage son of James that God is in charge and loves him in spite of what happens. Chi starts to see Griff as a man she can trust and who will cherish her. I highly recommend this book to those who enjoy a clean, Christian romance with wonderful characters. I love this whole series because each story revolves around the horses on Strawberry Sands. I received an ARC from the author and this is my voluntary and honest review. I enjoyed the audiobook narrated by Jay Dyess also. His narrations bring Jessie's books to life.
Thank you for sharing your review, Karen! I'm so glad you enjoyed this!
Congratulations on you 100th audio! You always make Jessie's books come alive and I look forward to listening to them!!
Congratulations on 100 audio books!! I love this poignant story. ❤️
Thank you so much, Miss FP! So glad you do!
Oh my goodness, that deep, growly voice Griff uses near the end when he ask her how she feels about him? Can you read an entire book using that voice? 😂 Seriously, I loved this story - I was a bit disappointed when it was over. Can't wait for more!
That is a great idea! I'm just sitting here thinking about all the kids in the books speaking in Griff's growly voice - OH OH OH... all the little old ladies! 😁😁😁
@@SaywithJay 😂😂😂
Chi has been running a diner for several years with the help of Griff who is in love with her. She thinks she wants to marry a lawyer and move up in society. When she learns she has been deceived, she begins to rethink her life goals. A wonderful story about being content with what you have, and helping others. A must read and a great addition to this series.
Thank you for such a lovely review, Sandra!
Congratulations, Jay! I believe Jessie’s accolades are true.
