Jim recently posted up on his YT page a quick review on this AE. *Fascinating* insider info from him from back in the day. He goes over his process and who inked or markered or penciled what on specific panels, etc....great stuff.🔥👍👍👍You need to watch it.
Gabe , I thought about you the moment this was first solicited so I am not surprised your first video in long time is about this specific book. Question: This has been on my radar ever since it was solicited but it's a little expensive. Do you know if i can wait a few months before it runs OOP/OOS?
Thanks for the comparison with the actual comics. I enjoy Scott William's ink, but I wish we have copies of Jim Lee's pencil lines before the inking. That would truly show where he was at the time. Was that the peak of his artistry? Hmmm...
@@GabeLoves90sComics I agree. Even the tail end of his run on X-Men as he prepared to leave for Image/Wildstorm, which was not as good when compared to his UXM run, were much much better than his DC stuff. The peak for me was X-Tinction all the way to X-Men #3.
Is the Fantastic Four Kirby Artist Edition your favorite artist edition book? Also, would love to see more artist edition book reviews from you. Ex. would love to see the Mike Zeck Artist Edition and Contract with God Artist Editions reviewed by you. Thanks!
This Jim Lee one is my personal favorite. But the Kirby Fantastic Four ones are the best. Just because of how amazing the pages are and how incredibly difficult it must have been to find those pages.
Got mine coming in a few days great review

You're welcome. Thanks for watching it.

I think you can wait a bit to get it, but I would not advise waiting too long. Amazon already ran out of their first allotment.
Annnddd I’m buying it ...glad to see you making vids again!!!
Yeah, I'm back. Got to show love to the 90s comic books!!!! Stay tuned for more
Great video Gabe!
Thanks, bro
Jim Lee might be my favorite artist in comics. Cool vid Gabe
Great overview sir! I THINK the shading for Black Widow's suit was zipitone or something similar. ;-)
love that 2 page spread of the reavers . For does that like original art this is a great more affordable option

LOL, I remember that Encino Man ad. They ran that in a ton of books for months.
That's what I love about checking out these single issues. The ads are a great time machine
Do you think Jim's Lee's art is better in this book or his DC Artist's Edition book?
Yes. This is PEAK Jim Lee. The Wildstorm era was great, too.
@@GabeLoves90sComics I like how you showed the comic book pages next to the original art pages. Hope you do more Artist Edition book reviews!!

While Portcacio finished over Jim Lee thumbnails ;-)
