- In this video, I attempt to beat a Pokemon EXTREME Hardcore Nuzlocke challenge in Black 2 using only Water types!

Nuzlocke Ruleset:
1. If a Pokémon faints, then it must be permanently boxed.
2. I can only catch the first encounter on each Route.
3. No bag items in battle, except for pokéballs. (Held items are allowed)
4. Must be played on "Set" battle mode.
5. Cannot level over the next gym leader/elite 4's highest level pokémon.

It’s actually quite rare that Tortuga doesn’t shell smash so you can use that to your advantage quite often, I have done a fighting and flying run where I actually used this to my advantage

I've just started my first nuzlocke and you inspired me to choose Black 2. Loving the channel! This was my favorite playthrough I've seen yet. The process of trying to recoup after that brutal Marlon fight was really interesting to see.
As for Marlon prep, I think some of your B team mons would have made a big impact. Swanna would help provide another grass neutrality to take some of the burden off of mantine. Floatzel with Crunch can come in on a shadow ball thrown at one of the water/flying types and KO after the jelly has been sufficiently chipped. Floatzel and another addition, Alomomola would also add aqua jet priority as Shell Smash insurance. Use Alomomola's bulk to switch into a +2 hit and then use aqua jet to break sturdy, sacrificing Alo in the process. Then Floatzel can come in and finish the job with its own jet.
Octillery with Energy Ball and Bullet Seed for lead seems strong. Energy Ball takes out Wailord and then Bullet Seed KO's Carrocosta through sturdy as it goes for a Shell Smash. If a different mon comes out instead, then the Alomoma sac will most likely have to be used later down the line.
Lapras would make the final slot thanks to great bulk, shell armor and electric coverage for mantine.

I like when you forced to used some weak pokemon, cuz they are the only remaining, it's always really exciting
I dont know. Biggest thing I can think of you seem to already see with saving the Lapras. High bulk pokemon with Shell Armor is unfortunate ly just irreplaceable. Maybe a stronger grass type move for coverage would make Marlon's Carracosta a bit more consistent?
has nobody noticed his dewott and vaporeon and azumaril and swanna? are shiny, yet when we see him encounter them, they're not?

Its modded so there aren't evs I think and there's probably a setting in the mod that makes them shiny too that he did just cause

He is probably using PokeGen to make his Pokémon shiny and make his EVs 0 aswell

The chance for Shadow Ball to drop SpDef 7 times in a row is 0.2 ^ 7 = 0.00128% or 1 in 78,125. That's nearly *10 times* less likely than encountering a shiny, absolutely insane.
Not 7 in a row, it was 7 drops in 10 turns, but yes still absolutely insane unluck.

fun fact, if you have a Nuzlocke and you want a specific eevee encounter, use repel with a lvl 19 pokemon infront

Black 2 has become the bane of my existence with annoying status conditions
I had a metagross didnt attack for 5 turns straight due to paralysis
Burgh's swadloon used string shot 12 times in a row between me switch mons to restore my speed
Had a Gyarados asleep for 5 turns, woke up and immediately got put to sleep again then dream eater killed it.
Had a mon got frozen, used ice heal then got refrozen on the next turn.
I really hate the AI in this game
Was the freeze one Zinzolin's Cryogonal? In two separate battles against Zinzolin, my Probopass stayed frozen for about 20 turns while trying to use Power Gem on Zinzolin's Cryogonal.

What about Shellder and Cloyster because they are both water type Pokemon but Cloyster is also ice type as well as water type.
