The problem with falling in love with someone who's just like you is that later on, all of a sudden, it hits you, and you realize what the problem is; You can't be with someone like yourself..
You hate yourself!!
Infact, if anything you need is to get the exact opposite of yourself....It's too much. It's too Much...

As crazy as he is, Kramer is the voice of reason in most episodes.
He wasn't being the voice of reason, the joke was Kramer never had a problem with any of Jerry's girlfriends and he loves Jerry, that he hates Jerry's double only adds to Kramer being off his rocker.

@@RCARD-pz2et Basically, it was just how I described it. We clicked over having the exact same interests, and we were definitely compatible physically. It just didn't continue to click. The only difference than this is that when we mutually called it off, there was no "I hate you."

I remember taping this episode when it aired. My buddy and I kept rewinding that scene just for that look.

One of the funniest lines ever.
What's amazing about this episode is that even though it's a comedy, there's subtle commentary about the plights and pitfalls of self-introspection. That's what makes this comedy genius.
For 30 years whenever anyone had an "oops" moment or something fell or dropped, I always think to myself or say, "That's a shame." Thank you Seinfeld!🤣

I like how Jerry's voice gets higher and higher the more emotional or excited he gets. Especially the end of every sentence compared to the beginning.
The whole SERIES is built around these loons being self-centered. This just puts the icing on the cake. As Seinfeld say, he finds it disturbing when people say his show's characters remind them of their friends!
After watching the series a couple of time, I disagree that they were that self centered the entire time. That really seems to have come into effect in the third season.

@@cosmodeus1720 keep in mind there's several other seasons after those-personally I look at the whole picture rather than the start. Frankly, they shaped up to be terrible people.
I like them a lot as characters, but they're definitely terrible people who love the sound of their own voice. Much like the rest of us New Yorkers. 😂
And if you need any further proof, the finale is them going to jail, essentially for being terrible people. They know who they are.

2:35 I think this is an underrated Kramer moment. Amidst all of his quirks, and at times, aloofness, he cares about his friends and is willing to adapt to their new situations in life if need be.

I spent three and a half years with someone who was very similar to me. She was a 97% match online. It was kind of like what happened in this scenario.
But I ended it after a while because she just wasn't the one for me. She wanted to get married, and I really considered it, but I couldn't go through with proposing to her.
My wife now is a lot less like me, but she's the one. No hesitation.
I wouldn't like someone just like me, that's boring and predictable. You want someone somewhat different but same core values.

The most interesting thing is she's not just like him, she is in fact more Seinfeldish that Seinfeld himself, or at least that's how he inevitably perceives her. It's like hating your own nose or hands. Nobody will dislike them more than you do.

My gf had that same fear, that we are to different. I said it's a good thing, different strengths and weaknesses, we broaden each others horizons with are different likes and dislikes. But fundamentally we have the same core values which I think is the most important thing and we communicate well. People get to caught up in interests being similar.

My favorite part of this episode is just before this particular video starts...when Kramer is in Jerry's kitchen and they are arguing and it is in the future....loved Kramer's outfit and hair style too.....
I don't know what it would be like to date someone who is exactly like me. It would all be very fake and shallow, I guess, since I am like that in any social situation. Crazy that a show like "Seinfeld" can actually make you think about these kind of things.

Also, you need someone who has similar interests, a similar sense of humor and positive family background that you deem appropriate. With physical attraction of course. That’s when you find someone you will like. Key word is similar, not exact. Like maybe they love classic rock like you, but they also love Celion Dion who you aren’t too particularly interested in. You both love books, but they also enjoy fixing cars while you don’t know a thing about it and don’t feel like bothering to learn. You obviously will have differences, opposing opinions. But you in general can get along.
