I love it, just started checking out Vevor's stock and they got everything. I could use a small anvil for on the road shows instead of dragging the 161lb from the home shop. Looks like something to check out for that price.
Brandon very nice job reviewing and giving info on this tool. Hopefully you get great use out of it for many years to come my friend. Can't wait to see more updates an projects and many more videos soon my friend. Keep up the great craftsmanship and hard work my friend. Forge On. Fab On. Weld On. Keep forge lit. Keep making. God bless.
What do you think of kanca anvils? Their drop forged, but I'd like to know which you think would hold up longer between them and that vevor you did that review on.
I got the london pattern "100 LB" actually 92 pounds, (for 149) in black with a 1 1/8 inch hardy - that's 28.5mm - try finding a store bought hardy tool with that. Mounted it on a custom stand, hit it with my hammer mid strong, and dented the face. Instantly said, yup it is a working anvil, not a show piece.
actually that pritchard looks like it was punched rather than drilled! the bottom edge looks like it has that punched lip burr on it! i'd give it a go but i bought the doyle already and it's working pretty good so far as much as i use it! i still find myself using the cast iron one i've got and the modified splitting wedge i use as a stump anvil more than anything!
This is what happens when you have a designer designing a product they do not use. He was thinking "Hey, I'll be fancy and cut costs and put the holes right over the mounting screw holes and I'll be a HERO!!" It's not good. I like that you scan screw them in through the top like that, but I'd rather use a ratchet below and have proper hole placement personally.
I would put them at the same level quality and user friendly wise. I like the wider face of the Doyle but I like the familiarity of this london pattern. This is leaps and bounds above the 30kg blue vevor, but I would say equal to the Doyle.
I would say they are equal quality. The Doyle has a wider face and is a bit shorter. The double horn design of the Doyle is nice. It really comes down to preference. If you're doing any kind of US historic reenacting I would go with the vevor as it is a more common pattern here in the states. In the class I had this weekend my students were split right down the middle as to which they preferred. Hope this helps.
Really, sounds like an opportunity for someone to make a bundle. They are from china and it can't cost more to get them to Australia than to the states, I hope someone fills that gap for y'all sooner rather than later!
I understand the metric system just fine...I refuse to be dumbed down enough to use it though. American Standard system all the way for me. Don't care about the color as long as it is a good anvil. looks like the second one is better than the first one and it would be the one I would prefer.
They're out of stock right now but they are still $138 www.vevor.com/cast-steel-anvil-c_10827/vevor-single-horn-anvil-66lbs-cast-steel-anvil-high-hardness-rugged-round-horn-anvil-blacksmith-large-countertop-and-stable-base-with-round-and-square-hole-metalsmith-tool-for-bending-and-shaping-p_010345977724
I hate to ruin it for you but blacksmithing being an old thing means most the stuff related to it is in imperial all over the world. So I doubt the 66lb is just for the American market.
So it’s Chinese made. If America wants to get back in the game they should step up quality first and then work on availability and finally price. Then most would be buying American again.
The metric system is a far easier one to use and understand weight and measurement . Americans are behind the times and once they do they’ll soon understand.😊
Liked that deal so much I bought one myself. I can't wait for it to get delivered while I'm at work and my wife goes out to bring the box in the house because I didn't bother telling her it's coming. I like to live dangerously. 😈🤣
..it's about time companies were listening to the consumers. hopefully they will offer some in the 100# and bigger. Great review...!
Thanks, Brandon! Good review! Looks like a decent buy!
You bet!

No doubt, I got the smalls for students and shows. Helps out a lot.

Great honest review thank you.
The internet showed me the same anvil the other night and i was wondering how good it was. Thanks for the video.
Yeah that is just creepy isn't it, glad you liked it!
Thank you.

this style is what ive been looking for for a decent price. Think i'll pick one up
Careful...they're heavy...remember to lift with your legs not your back!😁
@@Master...deBater wait what? I always lift with my back and only my back lol who needs legs
Great video I ordered one myself a few weeks ago, couldn't pass it up for the price, been wanting a small travel anvil.
Greetings from Milltown. Do you know anyplace that sells high temp (3k*) refractory cement out here?
delivered to the door makes a big difference too, esp for beginners who might not be able to get it picked up

It very well could be punched out. I still like the Doyle myself.
i wish these where heavier ide order it right now
You got a like just because of the metric system joke you said 3 minutes in hahaha thank you.
At 78, makes the think about getting back into blacksmithing. Then again, how many anvils does one man need?!?
I'll let you know when I get enough!

In agreement with you about the darned metric system.
What size engine is in your truck?
Did I understand you right ,,, you bought it from Harbor freight ?
Would you rate it higher than the Doyle from Harbor Freight?
I would put them at the same level quality and user friendly wise. I like the wider face of the Doyle but I like the familiarity of this london pattern. This is leaps and bounds above the 30kg blue vevor, but I would say equal to the Doyle.
@@VooDooTennesseehow much wider is the Doyle’s face? Which one is louder?

absolutely thanks for responding so fast and did you see that you are on the harbor freight website for the Doyle anvil? @@VooDooTennessee
thats outrageous value be nice at twice the size though , its still walking about a fair bit .
I bet they come out with a bigger one.
Thanks I just got one
If they make this 132lb like their other anvil I’ll buy it that day.
I hate being in Australia it cost 300 for this thing here

I blame looney tunes too
They are clearly at fault.
Amazing how the price goes from $130 to $250 in 4mths .. :(
