So much better than the Bundeswehr. Bundeswehr looks like a cross between the American army and the girl guides. The NVA looked like a german army.

The expected comment yet again... What about that eyesore of a helmet and these (already at that time) outdated, Zhukov-like jodhpur trousers ? Not to mention these flashing white shirts... had they ordered too many when outfitting the Navy officers ? While the drill is top notch, the outfit is quite a joke. A true embodiment of that bogus State that the GDR was, that said.

To that can only be said; cry about it all you want. Having "cool uniforms" and "cool parades" apparently didn't help because guess who won the cold war..
